Job Title: Refuge Worker

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Refuge Worker in Derby.

The post holder will provide high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse and their children living in our refuges. This includes safety planning and enabling women to access housing, welfare, benefits, and legal advice. A key requirement is to provide personal welfare support and to ensure that women are provided with a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment in accordance with Refuge’s philosophical principles.

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

This post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

About the role

As Director of Fundraising, you will lead and inspire our fundraising team, driving multi-million-pound income across philanthropy, individual giving, legacies, corporate partnerships, community fundraising and events. This is a newly created role with a high degree of autonomy, focused on shaping the future of fundraising at Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity, developing compelling campaigns, and identifying new opportunities to grow support.

Working closely with your colleagues and Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, you will help bring fundable, high-impact projects to life, engaging current supporters and inspiring new audiences. Main Duties and Responsibilities

About The Role
Do you have ability to build positive relationships and identify new fundraising opportunities? Would you like the opportunity to make a difference for people affected by dementia, by engaging with supporters across the South of Northern Ireland?

We are recruiting for a Regional Fundraiser covering the South of Northern Ireland to join on a full-time basis, working 35 hours per week on a fixed-term contract until September 2026. This role is homebased but will require you to travel across the South of Northern Ireland with the aim of growing income across the region to exceed fundraising targets.

As Regional Fundraiser, you will be the main contact for regional fundraising within this geographical area, you will represent and promote the work, vision, and purpose of the Society locally, whilst also promoting and supporting the wider work of the Regional Engagement team. Essentially, you’ll be the ‘fundraising face’ of the Alzheimer’s Society engaging and inspiring your supporters to raise funds and awareness for us.

You’ll be building mutually beneficial relationships across the core counties in your area including, Bangor, Lisburn, Portadown, Armagh, Newry, Newcastle, Downpatrick and the outskirts of Belfast. You’ll work collaboratively with others to provide exceptional stewardship for our supporters, whilst remaining adaptable and ready to focus on other areas where funds are also raised.

This might mean you’re helping to attract new supporters from different places or taking care of existing supporters across various income streams in other areas. We will seek to maximise your skills effectively in your core counties, while also making sure they benefit the wider region's needs, enabling you to make a big contribution to fundraising for people affected by dementia.

Interviews for this role have been provisionally scheduled to take place (via MS Teams) on Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th October.

About you
Joining us, you will have experience in relationship community fundraising or similar transferrable skills such as the ability to build rapport, communicate effectively and use emotional intelligence when engaging with others. You’ll have experience of delivering excellent customer service, account managing or supporter stewardship, ensuring that people you work with feel valued and appreciated.

Crucially, you’ll be able to identify and establish new opportunities with a good understanding of budgeting and financial management combined with the ability to analyse data and information to make informed decisions.

This is an exciting role which will require you to travel across the geographical area of South Northern Ireland, therefore you’ll need to be able to work remotely and independently with a full driving licence and access to a car. Ultimately, this role will enable you to connect with others and build and develop your relationship fundraising and sector experience in a major national charity.

- Working proactively to identify and deliver new fundraising opportunities within the South of Northern Ireland, through pipelining and winning new income from Corporate, Groups and Associations, Individuals and Third-party activities to maximise income streams.

- Acquisition and pipelining, driving new business income (from prospecting through to pitch development and delivery) and achieving financial targets.
- Recruiting and managing volunteers in line with the activity plan.
- Working with a budget to manage and deliver income, providing detailed commentary and insights to the line manager on variances, capacity and trends at regular intervals agreed.

The LifeSkills Support Worker (Virtual) will provide online support to individuals who are further away from employment, education or training by using a strengths based approach as part of the LifeSkills Intensive Programme.

The LifeSkills programme supports individuals and families to build their confidence, social networks, financial and employability skills. The LifeSkills Support Worker will work closely with the wider LifeSkills teams (Intensive and Open).

About the Role

This is an independent, target-driven role where you’ll take full ownership of sales – but you won’t be working in isolation. This is a key position for someone who thrives on sales, relationship-building and growth. 

You will take ownership of outbound sales, and proactively seek opportunities across B2B, B2C and corporate growth (standing orders, wholesale and weddings), and work to ensure our pipeline is always full and well nurtured.

This is not a passive sales role—it's about being out there, finding leads, closing deals and growing accounts.

Key Responsibilities

Outbound Sales & Business Development

• Identify and secure new B2B, wholesale, corporate and wedding clients.
• Unlock the potential of our existing client list through strategic outreach.
• Drive proactive lead generation, including cold calling, networking and LinkedIn outreach.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of leads, converting them into long-term contracts.
• Attend tastings, sales meetings, and events to pitch Luminary’s offering and communicate our social impact.
• Keep CRM records up to date to track opportunities, conversations and progress.

Account Growth & Relationship Management

• Strengthen and expand relationships with high-value clients and key accounts.

Sales Strategy & Performance Tracking

Weddings & Corporate Events

About You

• Proven track record in B2B or high-end food/hospitality sales

Save the Children UK has an exciting opportunity for a creative and relationship-focussed individual with extensive youth engagement experience to join us as our Youth Participation Adviser (Grants & Strategy Support) where you will work with the SUN Civil Society Network team.

This is an 18-month Fixed Term Contract and a full-time role, at 35 hours a week.

The SUN CSN Secretariat is hosted by Save the Children UK and supports 5,000+ civil society organisations across 67 countries. A flagship initiative within our work is the Youth Leaders for Nutrition programme, which supports young advocates to lead change in their communities and influence policy and accountability at national and global levels.

 About the role

This role is ideal for someone passionate about youth engagement, creative resource development, and global civil society collaboration.

As Youth Participation Adviser (Grants & Strategy Support), you will collaborate with young people and civil society partners globally to co-create pilot tools and resources that enable the scaling up of youth participation through the Youth Leaders for Nutrition programme.

In this role, you will: 

• Capture learnings from our existing program to inform the design of the next phase for the program.

• Co-develop:

• Toolkits to strengthen meaningful youth engagement at the national level across our global network.

• A youth inclusion checklist for SUN Civil Society Alliances (CSAs).

• Safeguarding guidance and training resources in collaboration with Save the Children UK's safeguarding team.

• Manage the distribution of small grants to SUN Civil Society Alliances, carrying out due diligence, monitoring the grant reporting from recipients, and reporting on progress and impact to donors.

• Develop creative and impactful ways to gather, analyse and present stories and data from the Youth Leaders for Nutrition programme to support strategy and fundraising.

• Work directly with regional advisors, national alliance leaders and other SUN stakeholders to ensure multi-stakeholder alignment at every level.

• Occasionally represent the SUN CSN Secretariat in internal and external meetings, helping to shape the youth engagement strategy for 2026–2030.

About you

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• The ability to connect naturally with young people, understand their needs, and confidently lead both group discussions and one-on-one conversations.

• Experience in youth mobilisation, campaigning, advocacy and/or communications.

• Experience in small grant management including distribution, due diligence, monitoring and reporting.

• Strong skills in developing resources, building capacity, and identifying or responding to learning needs.

• A creative and proactive approach to problem-solving and content development.

• Comfort working across diverse cultural contexts and a strong commitment to inclusive practices.

• Experience managing multiple relationships and partnerships, ideally including collaboration within this UN movement and civil society colleagues from the global level to the grassroots.

Ways of Working:
