The successful individual should have a thorough knowledge of dog behaviour and welfare, including understanding the principles underlying learning and the ability to write training and behaviour programs. You'll have excellent communication skills with the ability to handle delicate situations sensitively and professionally and have the ability to and experience in handling difficult dogs. We are looking to recruit a Housing Officer to take responsibility for the management and maintenance of a number of properties within our Housing Management Service.
For this role, the successful candidate must hold a full driving licence, have use of a car and be prepared to cover a geographical area within the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire area.
The post holder will provide an effective, customer focused service to tenants, particularly focusing on dealing with: Anti-social behaviour and tenancy management, improving income, ensuring properties are maintained to a good standard, dealing with housing related court action, working closely with support providers to prevent eviction and engaging with local communities including the Police, ASB teams and neighbours.

About You

What you will bring:
The post holder will have an excellent understanding of domestic violence and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse and Housing sectors. As an experienced domestic violence advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, the post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic violence, of supporting women with housing needs, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

- Establish positive, proactive and innovative working relationships with housing services and partner agencies.

Black Thrive Global evolved from the work of the Black Thrive Lambeth Partnership, which was established in 2016 to address the inequalities that negatively impact the mental health and wellbeing of Black people in Lambeth. Black people’s cumulative exposure to negative experiences and poor outcomes are not unique to Lambeth and Black Thrive Global was founded in 2020 to address the detrimental outcomes for Black people of African and Caribbean descent wherever they may be located.
Our work covers all life stages – children and young people, working age adults and older adults. Our guiding principle is to centre the lived experiences of Black communities in all that we do, and our strategic priorities are to embed race equity in systems change and to decolonise the evidence landscape.

Purpose of the role
The purpose of this role is to support Black Thrive’s employment strand of work, which is key to promoting wellbeing and preventing ill health as well as to supporting recovery from ill health or slowing progression from one-to-many health conditions.
The role supports the effective delivery of the employment project, funded by Guys and St Thomas’ Charity GSTC. The role has a wide span of responsibility ranging from community engagement and research to administration and facilitation.

Job Overview:
The Waiting List Support Officer plays a vital role as a front-facing position for the Kent Homeless Connect service in North and West Kent.
As one of the services' waiting list support officers; you will provide vital support for customers who are on the waiting list for Kent Homeless Connect services. You will need to be methodical and patient, providing telephone and/or guidance and advice to customers. The role will also require you to visit clients in the community in order to provide key-work, documenting and recording outcomes.
You will be responsible for providing regular updates to referring agencies and maintain regular contact with customers to make sure that they are receiving appropriate support from other professionals dependent on need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily monitoring of waiting list
- Liaison with partner agencies, referrers and potential customers in relation in referral and waiting list process
- To hold a strong knowledge of safeguarding, feedback & complaints, data handling and risk assessment
- To represent Look Ahead at panels and meetings if requested.
- Develop and maintain links with all key agencies and service providers in the local community
- Work from local community/statutory bases in agreement with partner agencies
- Empower customers to ensure they receive the service and benefits they are entitled to
- Undertake all administrative work and keep accurate and comprehensive tenant/customer records to professional standards
- Ensure that referrals are chased proactively so that properties which can be used to house those in need are filled as efficiently as possible

Recruiting for 2 Assessment Support Workers to join our Homelessness and Complex Needs Service in Hammersmith and Fulham!
GBP 22,568 working 40 hours per week, plus 25 days Annual Leave, Pension schemes, Staff discounts, healthcare and more.This is a 3 month Fixed Term Contract.
The Coninghams is a 31 bed assessment centre for single homeless men and women that have links within the borough. The accommodation provides 5 separate self contained units and 26 on suite bed rooms, with shared kitchen facilities on each floor. The scheme is staffed 24 hours, with Night Support Workers and Concierge cover. The service acts as the assessment centre for customers entering supported housing within Hammersmith and Fulham. Customers receive an intensive 10 - 12 week period of assessment before being referred onto appropriate supported or Private Rented accommodation. A major part of the Assessment Support Workers role is putting in the foundation with our customers around basic living skills and preparing the individual to be ready to move into alternative supported accommodation.
Job Overview:
The aim of the project is to assess the individual over an 10-12 week period with the aim of identifying their support and housing needs. In that period we will provide a bed for the customer to assist staff to carry out a detailed assessment to ensure that the recommendation for move on into supported housing is captured correctly. The onus is then on the council to move the individual onto more suitable longer term supported accommodation based on our assessment/recommendation.
The service operates a model of personalised approach in order to address a wide range of presenting complex needs, which could range from mild learning difficulties, substance use (alcohol and drugs), offending, mental health, dual diagnoses, etc. We work closely with outside agencies in order to ensure that the individual is linked into getting the correct support whilst they remain at the assessment centre.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs including support needs and daily living skills. This would include potential risks and an assessment of the customers independent living skills as a whole
- The initial and co-produced assessment will incorporate models of co-production, observation and person-centred planning. This is with a view that it is solution focused as to provide a framework for progression towards independent living
- Liaise with partner agencies in regards to the assessment process seeking advice and guidance as to specialist input and clinical input as part of multi disciplinary assessment process
- Create support/ action plans for providing appropriate services based on the assessment and reflecting the services and resources available
- Empower customers to be part of the local community and active participants in the local community as part of a Recovery Capital model
- Liaise with partner agencies in regards to making referrals where an unmet need has been identified via the multi agency assessment
- Ensure that referrals are chased proactively so that properties which can be used to house those in need are filled as efficiently as possible
- Undertake key-working responsibilities for a caseload assigned by the Team Leader/Manager
- Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks as past of the assessment of daily living skills, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation
- Develop and maintain links with all key agencies and service providers in the local community
- Co produce In Reach services at The Coninghams so that we are able to action plan jointly with partner agencies and feed into any action plans in regards to customers support needs e.g. Substance Misuse treatment plans
- Attend training and workshops that are delivered via partner agencies were possible to provide a through and up to date assessment
- Empower customers to ensure they receive the service and benefits they are entitled to, including assessment and support of budgeting and debt management to garner their tenancy readiness
- Undertake all administrative work and keep accurate and comprehensive tenant/customer records to professional standards
- Adhere to Look Ahead's Policies and Procedures
- Engage in learning and development activity to increase knowledge and skills
- Provide day-to-day instruction of domestic staff/Personal Support Assistants where appropriate
- Undertake any other duties consistent with the grade and nature of the post as may be reasonably assigned
