What this role entails?
The Medical Sciences Divisional development team works collaboratively with colleagues across the Division and across the Development and Alumni Engagement team at the University of Oxford.
This is a key role within the team and the post holder will have the opportunity to work with donors and academics. Development at Oxford is well established and this role has the scope to work across a number of important and high-profile projects related to the medical sciences.
The post holder will manage a portfolio of more than 100 major gifts prospects. They will be responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of potential donors able to support projects in the Medical Sciences Division at Oxford, typically in the range of £100,000-£500,000 over time, alongside to supporting the fundraising activity of the Head of Development – Medical Sciences.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven fundraising experience in a complex organisation and direct involvement in securing major gifts at the £50,000 level and above
- Ability to identify new donor prospects and engage with potential donors to successfully acquire new gifts
- Ability to think both strategically and tactically about the relations between potential donors and fund-raising goals
- Ability to establish credibility, confidence and robust relationships with existing and prospective donors, and key stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- An interest in the medical sciences
- An interest in higher education and ideally an understanding of the University of Oxford, and its goals in teaching and research

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Resonance is a 24/7, artist-led community radio station based in Southwark, London, broadcasting on FM, DAB and online to audiences in the UK and internationally. The station supports experimental arts & culture and under-represented voices through community radio broadcasting, working with hundreds of volunteer broadcasters, artists and producers each year alongside a small staff team. This role exists to increase Resonance’s charitable income, securing the funding that enables its artistic and community work to happen. It sits alongside, rather than within, artistic and operational delivery, with a specific focus on charitable fundraising and supporter engagement.
The Development Coordinator works across the organisation to draw out the charitable purpose, public benefit and impact of Resonance’s activity, and to communicate this clearly to funders and donors through funding applications, donor communications and impact-led narratives.

Role Context

Prospectus is excited to be working with our client to help them recruit for a part-time Digital and Creative Fundraising Lead to join their team. The youth club is a voluntary organisation and registered charity, working with young people aged 8 to 19 years. The club was founded in 1926 and is located in Shepherds Bush, West London. Open six days a week, the club provides children and young people with a range of regular after-school and evening activities during term time, and a variety of daytime activities and residential trips during the school holidays. In 2025, it was attended by over 500 local children and young people.
This role is offered on a part-time, 18-month flexible contract (up to 21 hrs/week), paying a salary of £35,000 per annum pro rata, with flexible hybrid or remote working arrangements between home and the club.
This newly created role is responsible for helping the Board of Trustees diversify the club’s income by focusing on increasing voluntary income and strengthening community engagement. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a professional telephone manner to join us as Tele-Fundraising Intern. You will help promote Shelter and enhance our ability to retain our supporters. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in standing up to the housing emergency.
About the role
You will be the first point of contact for supporters seeking information about Shelter’s work, so will need excellent communication and administrative skills, a real interest in housing issues, as well as an understanding of how the Outbound Supporter Services Team impacts supporter retention. Your day to day work will include calling supporters to welcome them to the organisation and thank them for choosing to support us, undertaking quality control surveys and ensuring supporter data is accurate.
You will promote Shelter, raise awareness of housing and homelessness issues and enhance our ability to retain our supporters. You will respond to enquiries about Shelter’s work and action supporter requests. You will maintain accurate supporter records and liaise with other departments to ensure changes are actioned, as well as handling complaints about services and fundraising activity.
There will be on the job training, support and supervision and you will have access to Shelter’s Employee Assistance Programme. We can also offer flexible hours, with some office working.
About you
The role is open to anyone who has have lived experience of disadvantage, such as homelessness, housing issues, the criminal justice system, mental ill-health, money and debt issues or other disadvantages. You will have good customer service skills, are able to communicate effectively on the telephone and have good attention to detail, with the ability to capture data accurately. You also have an understanding of Microsoft Office applications.

Role Summary:
- Identify, develop and manage a portfolio of funders and donors including trusts, foundations and major donors to meet financial and non-financial targets
- Maximise income through the development of co-ordinated stewardship and relationship management
- Produce compelling proposals, reports, and presentations. and deliver inspiring base tours.
- Source funding for specific projects and work programmes, as well as core costs
- Manage an opportunity pipeline, research and identify new prospects
- Report progress against financial and non financial KPI’s on a monthly basis
- Support the Philanthropy Manager with strategic projects to build and develop philanthropy at Magpas Air Ambulance
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience in a philanthropy or fundraising relationship management role, within the charity or not-for-profit sector.
- Strong track record in securing and managing philanthropic donors and building long-term relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to build rapport with Trusts and Foundations, HNWI’s, Trustees and Senior volunteers.
- Experience in managing donor portfolios and opportunity pipelines.
- Highly motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple applications/relationships simultaneously
- Full driving licence with own transport
