Victim Support is proud to have been commissioned to provide an Affected by Crime (ABC) service across Humberside which will provide a single point of contact for victims of all crime, whether or not they have reported to the police, to receive support and information.
The ABC service will be a valuable point of contact for anyone affected by crime at any time to contact and receive help, support and information. We have opportunities available to work within the Humberside ABC service and are looking for dedicated, passionate and empathic people to join and enhance our team.
The Caseworker (known internally as a Victim Care Advocate) role will provide advocacy and support to those affected by crime across Humberside. This role is home-based with travel required within the Humberside area and is initially for a fixed term period, ending on 31st March 2025 to cover secondment.

About the role:
As a Caseworker, you will;
- receive incoming referrals from a range of sources including the police, other agencies & individuals
- assess needs & risks & action plans with those affected by crime
- use our case management system to update case notes & record risk & needs
- give up to date information to victims of crime about the criminal justice system process
- liaise with other agencies where required to provide advocacy for the service user
- work with other criminal justice system agencies to ensure a trauma informed & victim friendly response
- promote the service, ensuring it is accessible & open to all
- work with the wider team to ensure an effective, trauma informed service
You will be a confident and empathic person who can work well under pressure. You will be speaking to people who may be upset, angry or in emotional difficulties and will need to be composed, empathic and be able to quickly assess situations. You will be confident in using your IT skills to work on a case management system, access phone and online systems, email and Microsoft Office programmes.

The Role
Working alongside the existing Community Fundraiser in London, this role will engage with the Dioceses in Westminster, Brentford & East Anglia to establish and strengthen links to individual bishops and diocesan communications staff. As Viva’s Head of Impact, you will work closely with the Network Partnerships Team Leadership to lead the development of a new approach to Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning, with the primary purpose of supporting partner networks to know their impact and share learning with each other. Some of your responsibilities will include:

- Viva MEAL framework: You will develop and manage a robust MEAL Framework for Viva

We are hiring a Mental Health Floating Support Coordinator to support our Luton Service which delivers support to individuals living within the community who have support needs pertaining to their mental health and wellbeing. The service works alongside statutory services, with the aim of moving people on to independent living within two years. You will empower and motivate our residents and participants to achieve their personal goals and gain greater independence, which enables them to reintegrate into the community and lead fulfilling lives. The Head of Scotland and Northern Ireland is responsible for leading our vision to end the need for food banks in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Scotland currently leads the way in having a rights-based, progressive agenda to ending the need for food banks, but there is much to do to ensure political intentions become a reality. This role directs Trussell Trust’s policy and public affairs work in Scotland and Northern Ireland, leads our Scotland and Northern Ireland department as they support our network of food banks and works strategically with key partners to tackle the underlying reasons why people need to come to food banks.
Based in Scotland or Northern Ireland, with travel around the UK as necessary
Role responsibilities

Lead the delivery of the Trussell Trust strategy for ending the need for food banks in Scotland and Northern Ireland, working to embed the Changing Communities, Changing Minds and Changing Policy programmes across the network, including through providing strategic support for the effective delivery of the Pathfinder, FI and organising programmes in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Work with key partners to direct Trussell Trust’s policy and public affairs and work with the Scottish government and local authorities across Scotland.

Facilitate the sharing of learning from Scotland to help shape our long-term policy and public affairs work in Northern Ireland.

Lead the Scotland and Northern Ireland department to ensure the safe and effective operations of the food bank network.

Work with our Head of Strategic Church Engagement to deliver a church engagement strategy that will mobilise the church in Scotland and Northern Ireland to work to end the need for food banks.

Work with the Policy, Research and Impact, and Network Programmes and Innovation directorates to ensure effective cross-departmental working on policy and research opportunities, strategic priorities, church engagement, external partnerships and impact reporting.
Person Specification
Technical skills and minimum knowledge:

Senior level experience of leading delivery programmes nationally and locally.

Senior level experience of directing policy and public affairs programme nationally and locally, and representing the Trussell Trust to senior government representatives, national stakeholders and the media.

Expertise of significantly growing and managing services, project and programmes to drive change; leading, motivating and inspiring teams; leading culture change; able to manage multiple projects, identifying conflicting demands and establishing clear priorities in order to meet agreed objectives.

An effective communicator, verbally and in writing. Diplomatic and with the interpersonal skills required by the role.

GFS is a feminist organisation with a mission to empower girls and young women in England and Wales to live their best lives. Girls as young as 6 tell us that they cannot be themselves. This causes problems for them and society. So, we offer an early intervention service for girls living in areas of deprivation to have the greatest impact.
This is an exciting role with an opportunity to lead the charity into the 150th Year of delivery and with a new strategy to address need. About the role
The Welfare Scheme Assessor will be a part of a small, but committed team with big ambitions that works cohesively and effectively together to get things done.
You’ll be an important and valued member of the team and, with the support of North Lincolnshire Citizens Advice, will be responsible for ensuring client focused outcomes are met in a pressurised environment.
You’ll be the first point of contact for residents applying for support from the welfare assistance scheme. You’ll offer applicants a holistic assessment designed to maximise household income, reduce expenditure and build greater financial wellbeing.
You’ll enable people to move as quickly as possible to problem resolution and to manage their essential needs so they are less likely to fall into debt and manage cost of living increases.
You’ll be responsible for making decisions on applications for financially based welfare support and will administer funds to households who would otherwise struggle to buy food or pay essential utility bills or meet other essential living costs.
You’ll enable people to take control of their financial wellbeing and signpost them to local statutory services and community groups that provide practical, social and emotional support.
