We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Finance and Operations Manager to oversee our financial operations and ensure the effective management of our resources. This role is central to maintaining our financial health and supporting our strategic goals. • Update monthly actuals and track variances within the cashflow.

• Reviewing financial records, reconciled balances, and drafted sections of the Annual Report. 

• Coordinating with internal teams and external advisors and assisting with implementing examiner recommendations. 

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled line manager with experience in general welfare advice to join Sufra NW London. In this highly rewarding role, you will oversee the delivery of services that can measurably change lives by providing quality advice and support to those most in need. 

You will manage our team of advice staff and volunteers to deliver high quality advice, information and welfare support to guests on a range of topics including benefits, housing, debt and immigration issues. An additional focus will be on establishing clear pathways for referring guests to external services, and managing volunteers to triage, signpost and refer guests to other forms of welfare support.

The advice team consists of paid staff and support volunteers.  This year will be dedicated to consolidation of the service, ensuring that we are fulfilling our core mission to the highest standards.  We are also hoping to launch our immigration advice service, providing guests with a first point of contact for their immigration needs and smooth referral pathways to specialist advice.  Finally, our OpenARMs programme will be launching workshops for our refugee and asylum-seeker communities. 

You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, especially Head of Advice at Sufra to support the implementation of new initiatives, and the expansion of our information and advice services to enhance our efficiency and impact.

The post holder will be a highly articulate and proactive individual with good welfare advice knowledge, 3+ years delivery experience in managing a charity team, strong service management skills, as well as experience managing staff and volunteers. The ideal candidate will have up-to-date knowledge of the welfare system, immigration and safeguarding protocols. They must also have demonstrable experience using a case management system, adhering to advice standards and be able to manage a diverse workload and work under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

Advice Services

• Manage the advice service by overseeing and supporting volunteers and advice staff at our Community Wellbeing Service and Foodbank including setting objectives, managing performance and providing feedback during supervisions.
• Hold a small case load of advice guests, supporting them to achieve their aims
• Maintain a high quality service by ensuring that the advice team and volunteers are working to agreed standards and delivering against realistic grant agreements from funders.

Service Development

• Work with the Senior Leadership Team to develop, expand and improve Sufra’s information and advice services in alignment with our 2030 strategy.

• Undertake quality assurance including case checking and quality of advice audit.
• Identify the training needs of advice staff and volunteers through support, mentoring and supervisions.

• Work within the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) framework, ensuring that all policies and procedures are up to date for future assessments

Volunteer Management

• Develop, review and implement key policies and procedures to better equip Advice Volunteers to fulfil their role.
• Provide induction, support and supervision to enhance the quality standard of the service and contribute to the personal development of volunteers.
• Foster a positive working environment that maintains high morale and supports Advice Volunteer retention and regular participation.

Budgets, Monitoring & Evaluation

• Support the Senior Leadership Team in setting service budgets, updating policies, and monitoring spending in line with reporting and budgetary requirements.
• Ensure appropriate systems are maintained for recording statistics and outcomes.
• Provide regular and timely monitoring reports on service outputs, outcomes and expenditure.
• Collect regular feedback and conduct surveys from relevant stakeholders to inform ongoing improvements to the Advice Service.
• Contribute to strategic development by setting action plans in line with agreed Business Plans and keeping teams accountable to Action Plan goals.

Other

• Ensure the advice team are working in adherence to organisational policies and procedures.

The South East Gambling Harms Partnership is a consortium of regional Citizens Advice offices that include: Wokingham, Reading, West Berkshire and East Berkshire offices in Berkshire and Hart, Rushmore, Basingstoke and Tadley in North Hampshire. This is a high-profile initiative funded by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) to tackle gambling harms through the collaboration of the South East Gambling Harms Partnership. 

The Role

We are looking for a strategically-minded Regional Service Manager to lead the South East Gambling Harms Partnership. You will be the architect of our strategic engagement, building trusted partnerships with NHS commissioners and local authorities to ensure gambling harms are a priority in local health responses. You will lead a dedicated team of Training Leads and Prevention Workers, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation, building strong links with VCSE partners and the wider community. 

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership & Influence: Act as the lead advocate for the partnership, engaging with NHS and Local Authority commissioners to ensure gambling harm prevention is embedded into local health strategies and regional policies.

• Partnership Management: Provide cohesive leadership for a collaboration of eight Citizens Advice offices, ensuring all locations are aligned, accountable, and integrating gambling screening into daily practice.

• Operational Oversight: Lead the project team (Data Officer, Training Leads, and Prevention Workers) to meet ambitious targets, while managing budgets, risks, and funder reporting.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Foster "trusted partner" relationships with grassroots organisations and wider community sectors to reach high-risk groups, including young people, veterans, minority communities and affected others.

With around 4 in 10 beneficiaries, we support seeking help with financial difficulties, this is a pivotal role for Kidney Care UK.

We are seeking a knowledgeable and confident specialist income maximisation activities for a role with three key parts: to lead a small team delivering benefits and energy advice and support directly to clients; to play a key role in upskilling and supporting our outstanding Patient Support team across the country; and to be the subject matter expert within Kidney Care UK.

You will manage our highly renowned Slater scholarship fund and other training bursaries, together with the Coming Ashore mentoring programme and careers advice and guidance resources.

About the role

This new role is to manage the bursary and welfare services of Marine Society. This requires an in depth understanding of seafarer’s needs and the training and certification they require to progress in their careers, both at sea and ashore. The manager will also oversee wider aspects of careers information and guidance and assisting with fundraising activity

Responsibilities

· Assess and process all bursary applications, including Slater Scholarships, Worcester, Hanway and Green Skills bursaries against clearly defined eligibility criteria

· Authorise the award of financial bursaries and approve beneficiary claims and expenses

· Maximise the use bursary funding and ensure successful outcomes for beneficiaries

· Identify new bursary funding opportunities and devise bids in collaboration with the fundraising team

· Manage the bursary and Coming Ashore programme restricted funds. Monitor and report on expenditure and activity

· Manage the operation of the Coming Ashore mentoring programme and ensure its sustainability

· Produce statistical reports and analysis pertaining to bursaries and welfare services for internal and external stakeholders.

· Put in place and maintain online and physical resources that provide seafarers with information, advice and guidance and supports maritime career development.

· To lead the annual Matrix accreditation process

· Work with the Digital Marketing Coordinator to ensure the effective marketing of bursary and welfare provision through a range of media and ensure the website remains up to date and relevant to seafarer needs.

· Represent Marine Society on external committees and forums that relate to welfare, including Merchant Navy Welfare Board and Nautilus Slater Management Committee

Requirements

• Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualifications/experience
• In depth knowledge and understanding of the training needs of UK and international seafarers including their welfare and certification routes within the maritime sector both at sea and ashore
• Experience of working as team leader or manager in the not-for-profit sector
• Experience of preparing and presenting reports to management team and funders as required
• Ability to use social media and press effectively to inform and promote seafarer welfare and professional development.

We offer support with benefits maximisation to make sure people receive everything they are entitled to, housing issues, social care needs, health and disabilities, advice on energy efficiency and fuel poverty, to assistance with form filling and leisure.

We are recruiting an Advice Worker to cover the London Borough of Havering. This role requires the worker to work independently and manage their own caseload but be part of the wider team and be aware of the other services provided by Age UK Redbridge, Barking & Havering. The post involves both office based, home visit and outreach work at a variety of locations across Havering. Good IT skills are required and familiarity with Charity Log would be useful as well as knowledge of relevant quality assurance systems.

We are recruiting for a Shop Manager to manage the day to day running of our shop located in the picturesque town of Alresford in the Winchester area.

As Shop Manager, you will manage our brilliant team of staff and volunteers, providing effective leadership, training, and development.

Utilising your previous experience and excellent managerial skills, you will help maximise store sales and profits while ensuring our customers and donors receive an excellent shop experience.

Working closely with the Director of Development, this individual will be responsible for raising funds and managing relationships with prospects and donors, organising fundraising campaigns and delivering events.

What you’ll be doing:

 Donor Relations and Stewardship

● Work closely with the Director of Development to deliver the fundraising strategy, with a focus on securing major gifts, regular giving, and corporate sponsorships.

● Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with prospective and existing donors.

● Identify new prospects and funding opportunities.

● Meet with donors and prospects with the Director and alone to develop the pipeline of future support.

● Ensure timely and personalised communication with donors to acknowledge gifts, provide updates on impact, and cultivate long-term relationships.

● Write compelling proposals and impact reports.

● Work with the Head of Alumni to develop engagement strategies for legacy giving to the 1862 Club. 

 Work with marketing to create promotional materials and build our portfolio of testimonials.

Event Management

● Create engagement events for potential donors.

● Work with the alumni team to plan stewardship events for supporters.

● Support the development of parent engagement events.

● Support the Head of Alumni with the career mentoring programme. Administration

● Manage gift processing using Raiser’s Edge, including receipting and thanking supporters, and managing pledge payment reminders. ● Create tailored communication and engagement plans for prospects and donors.

● Provide regular updates on fundraising progress and donor reports for the Director of Development.

● Develop and manage fundraising budgets, ensuring all fundraising activities are cost-effective and within financial targets.

About You

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, highly organised, and have fundraising experience within the education or charity sector.

Required Qualifications & experience

● Proven experience in fundraising, development, or a related field, ideally within an educational or non-profit organisation.

● Strong knowledge of fundraising best practices, including major gifts, regular giving, legacy giving, grant writing, and event management.

● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including current and former parents, alumni, pupils, staff, Governors and donors.

● Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlineseffectively.

● A passion for education and an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities facing independent schools.

● A team player who positively contributes to a collaborative and ambitious team culture. Adaptable and flexible to change as required.

● Experience with managing budgets and using fundraising CRM systems (preferably Raiser’s Edge).

● A proactive, results-driven attitude and a desire to make a tangible impact in a school environment.

● Proven experience of planning and implementing successful major donor fundraising programmes

● Proven experience of securing high-value major gifts

● An understanding of trends and developments across the sector and demonstrable knowledge of best practice in major donors, trusts and foundations fundraising

● A degree or equivalent.
