The Royal Hospital Chelsea is the home of the Chelsea Pensioners. It has a rich history and provides supported accommodation, residential and nursing care for some 300 retired soldiers.  The CPVO programme is aimed at extending an offer to older service veterans, inviting them to engage with our In Pensioners and enjoy the sense of community and comradeship that is at the heart of the Chelsea Pensioner community.  The Veterans’ Outreach Officer will support  the Head of Veterans’ Outreach in developing and managing the programme of activities encouraging engagement and social interaction between Chelsea Pensioners and other service veterans thereby helping to alleviate the social isolation and loneliness felt by many older veterans. Responsibilities will include promoting the programme within veterans' networks and finding innovative ways to connect with veterans; the management of themed events both at the Royal Hospital Chelsea and further afield as we seek to expand nationwide. Main responsibilities for the Fundraising & Membership Officer

Fundraising

• Support the setting of the charity’s fundraising targets through the research and review of both external and internal fundraising activities.
• Maintain an up-to-date database of the charity’s fundraising activities and campaigns.
• Collate the agreed metrics (including income and expenditure) and report on a weekly basis.
• Participate fully in the generation of fundraising ideas and activity selection.
• Design, prepare and implement the agreed activities and campaigns, which are likely to be varied in nature and might include dedicated fundraising events, grant applications to support families in disadvantaged socio-economic groups, and legacy generation.
• Recommend changes and updates to the activities and campaigns based on testing and evidenced data.
• Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of fundraising activities and campaigns, including both income and impact.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with both new and existing individuals and organisations, such as member alumni and grant-making trusts and foundations.
• Lead on stewarding the support of donors, funders, ambassadors and influencers through regular communications and feedback on impact.
• Create and submit monitoring reports to funders that are both timely and of high quality.

Promoting the Charitable Aims of the Charity

• With marketing support as needed, create effective messaging to be shared externally and with existing members to engender a sense of belonging to the high learning potential community, together with an understanding of its rights and its potential positive impact on society, with the aim of creating a desire to support the charity now and on an ongoing basis.
• Work with the Community Information Coordinator to utilise all appropriate opportunities to convey these messages.

Membership

• Design and coordinate an effective system to enhance the membership offer and improve membership renewal and retention.
• Work with the administration and community teams to ensure that the journey from interested party to becoming a member and from member to retained member is compelling and framed coherently and that systems are in place to effectively implement this.
• Work with the Community Information Coordinator on campaigns and strategies to reach new members, engage with existing members and retain existing members.
• Have a thorough understanding of the membership database, collate information and monitor, evaluate and report on all aspects of membership performance.
• Design and coordinate regular market research, including competitor analysis, to identify member/stakeholder needs, to support the rationale for the development of new member/community products and services, and to liaise with and advise other teams in the organisation as appropriate.
• Analyse and interpret marketing and social media performance.
• Identify opportunities for engagement of the membership and the wider community.

Other

• Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required.

Responsibilities:

Product and Project Management

• To help plan, deliver and develop portfolio of products, across both virtual events, community and event fundraising disciplines, to achieve KPIs and income targets.
• To project manage and lead on the successful delivery of fundraising products, ensuring clear schedules are in place and internal teams and other stakeholders are briefed and managed appropriately.
• To develop and deliver communication and content plans, maximising engagement from supporters and, in turn, remittance and average gift.

Supporter Care and Stewardship

• To help develop, and lead on the delivery of, effective and engaging cross-channel supporter journeys for participants including, but not limited to, email, social and direct mail, and develop resources, content and materials as required.
• To test and optimise supporter journeys to maximise remittance, average gift and retention, taking recommendations forward to provide the best possible supporter experience and ensure KPIs are met or exceeded.

Marketing and Digital

• To work with the fundraising products manager, internal teams and the community & events marketing team to develop effective marketing activity.
• To help develop approaches and assets, such as content and resources, for products in your care to drive engagement from supporters, remittance and average gift, across a range of channels.
• To work with digital engagement and the community & events marketing team to monitor and report on performance, including the most effective channels, creative and audiences, to help ensure investment is maximised.

Ideally, you will be someone with a real drive and a passion for charity fundraising. Who is digitally focused, driven by insight and understands the importance of great stewardship experience.

You'll have experience in a range of fundraising activities including virtual events. Adept at supporter stewardship and journeys through a variety of channels, such as digital communities, phone, and email. You'll have a proven track record of achieving and exceeding KPIs. In the last few years Mind's Corporate Partnership team has seen significant growth, delivering £7m+ income in FY22/23. Mind has strategic, Charity of the Year and commercial partnerships with companies across a range of sectors.

We are looking for an experienced and creative partnerships officer, to join our high performing and fast paced team at an incredibly exciting time. You will be managing and supporting a varied and interesting range of partnerships including existing and brand-new partnerships.

The Corporate Partnerships team consists of Partnerships Management, Planning and Development and New Partnerships team. This role reports into a Senior Corporate Partnerships Officer.

Key duties and responsibilities

The post holder will:

As a skilled relationship officer, you'll work with your manager to provide first-rate partnership management, developing creative fundraising and engagement plans to excite and inspire your team. You will work to deliver outstanding donor led stewardship and activate campaigns to generate income. You will work collaboratively with staff across Mind, together with other stakeholders and external contacts to maximise income and other opportunities for Mind.

Working both independently and with support from your line manager:

-Steward, renew and grow a portfolio of corporate partnerships at Mind, effectively planning, developing and delivering the partnerships to maximise income and wider benefits for Mind.

-Develop and implement a fundraising and engagement plan to maximise income and added value over the course of partnerships, deliver donor-focused stewardship so partners want to stay with Mind.

-Collaborate with internal teams to maximise potential and deliver mutually beneficial partnerships, e.g. communications, celebrities and PR, pro bono and gift in kind, lived experience, finance, events, services and wider engagement

-Adapt and promote Mind's core campaigns and activities to partners to engage partners with our cause and deliver excellent stewardship, working with the Planning and Development team

-Lead or assist with the creation of innovative fundraising initiatives, assets and materials to engage and inspire our partners

-Report back on how our partners' support has made a difference, demonstrating a clear understanding of the breadth and depth of Mind's work and the projects they're supporting.

-Track and monitor income and expenditure budgets to ensure income targets are met, flagging any variances to your line manager in good time. Work efficiently with Finance and Supporter Care to deliver accurate reporting.

-Work with your manager and Corporate Partnership team leadership to develop and deliver effective leadership stewardship plans

-Work with your manager to manage risk in new and existing partnerships and to ensure that Mind's corporate policy is adhered to.

-Work with your line manager to research and help develop proposals and presentations for potential corporate partners and renewals, working with the New Partnerships team.

-Assist with the organisation of events connected with the Partnerships fundraising team, and with practical tasks for other departmental events, as required.

-To work closely with Corporate Partnerships Officers across the three sub teams in Partnerships Management and wider team colleagues to share best practice, resource and learnings, and where necessary, support with partnerships

-Represent the Partnerships team in appropriate working groups, workshops and/or meetings/other events as directed.
