Katherine Low Settlement’s work with older people

Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. We provide, often in partnership, a range of projects and activities for older people including health and wellbeing; creative arts; intergenerational work; connecting people and trips/outings. Our services include an Older People's Lunch Club, Contact Club, T’ai Chi for Elders, exercise and social sessions, and support online.

We work with older people to:

• Encourage active and independent living

• Reduce isolation and loneliness

• Improve well-being and prevent ill-health

• Enable older residents to be dynamic and contributing members of the Wandsworth community.

Key Objectives for the Elders Core Service Manager Role:

1. Team Leadership: Lead a team of dedicated part-time paid staff and volunteers, including a cook, support worker, minibus driver, and sessional workers.
2. Day-to-Day Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Elders Core Service, including the lunch club, transport, social sessions, and overseeing the one-to-one work of the core team.
3. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the wider team to provide a hands-on program that builds on older people's strengths and potential.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation: Support the monitoring and evaluation of the project in collaboration with the Head of Programme.
5. Budget Management: Ensure the program operates within budget constraints.
6. Member Engagement: Support the planning of the core program with input from elder members and the wider team.
7. Recruitment and Support: Recruit and support new and existing members (service users).

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Delivery

• Planning and Oversight: Ensure that all service output aligns with KLS' vision, mission, values, and charitable objectives. Organize and promote one-off activities throughout the year.
• Transport Management: Manage the transport offer, including route planning and pick-up schedules.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate activity records, registers, and casework notes for the core team.
• Outreach and Support: Conduct outreach work with older people in the community, oversee home visits, and manage a small caseload.

2. Staff and Volunteer Management

• Recruitment and Line Management: Recruit and manage the Outreach and Support Workers, Lunch Club Cook, and relevant social activities workers and volunteers.
• Performance Management: Use performance management and quality systems to monitor and evaluate the project's work and processes.

3. Relationships, Communication, and Networks

• Member Engagement: Build and sustain strong relationships with elder members.
• Communication: Oversee communication for the Core Programme, including newsletters, activities calendar, annual reports, and social media platforms.
• Meetings: Attend meetings on behalf of the Core Programme as required.

4. Finance

• Budget Management: Manage project areas to budget and maintain financial records as agreed with the Head of Programme.

5. Other Duties

• Professional Development: Participate in regular management supervision and annual appraisal. Identify job-related development and training needs.
• Professional Conduct: Professionally undertake roles, maintaining a high-quality standard of work in line with KLS's aims, values, and ethos.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Area Branch Development Manager to join our field operations team. You will join us working 35 hours per week (including some occasional evenings and weekends to support out volunteers) on a permanent basis. Responsibilities of our Area Branch Development Manager:

As an Area Branch Development Manager you will be accountable for the development, growth and local governance of branches within a designated area. Providing a solution-driven approach with the aim of helping more cats through the effective engagement of local volunteers. You will develop and deliver an area plan that captures the importance of volunteer engagement, recruitment, support, enabling and succession planning to ultimately achieve branch growth and sustainability. What is Screen Share? 

Screen Share is a grassroots refugee charity which provides laptops, phones, tablets, data, digital skills to refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. We use the power of volunteering to turn discarded tech into good quality techical tools for refugees to improve their situation on their own terms. We are now launching a laptop refurbishment training programme for refugees in London and are looking for someone to run it and provide ad-hoc technical support to our team of volunteer laptop refurbishers! 

Role overview

Screen Share is looking for a proactive, self-starter and leader to launch a laptop refurbishment training programme for refugees in London, support tech volunteers to remotely refurbish laptops, respond to faults and perceived faults with devices we have provided to service users, and support with sourcing and refurbishing devices.

The postholder will have experience of at least Level 2 laptop repair and an interest in upskilling others in basic laptop refurbishment 

Outcome 1 

Co-design and co-deliver a laptop refurbishment training programme for 40 refugees and asylum seekers in London 

• Co-design a laptop refurbishment training programme for 40 refugees 

• Co-deliver the training programme in London

• Support with the logistics necessary for running a multi-cohort programme

• Create resources for learners and guide them through refurbishment workshops 

Outcome 2 

Respond to reported laptop faults by providing remote support or requesting a return

• Run remote diagnostics with service users whose laptops have developed faults or supposed faults.

About the role

Alongside the Service Manager, you are responsible and accountable for monitoring, maintaining and providing the highest standards of clinical and personal support and service delivery, while promoting independence and choice to the people supported in the service. You will support the Service Manager to manage and ensure the delivery of the service’s key quality and safety priorities by holding delegated responsibility in key areas of the day-to-day running of the supported living activity/service. You will also have delegated responsibility for the direct supervision and line management of a team of support workers. As a senior member of the team, you will promote and lead good practice at all times, doing all you can to make sure that the people we support and their colleagues come to no harm and that the people we support are satisfied with the level of support they receive by acting as an
exemplary role model.

As a Deputy Service Manager, flexibility is important for both you and for the service. You will be required to do on-call shifts during out of office hours. You will be expected to work 20% of your total weekly hours on shift across your assigned services and will be able to role model all aspects of a support worker role duties and responsibilities. Snow Camp is a ground-breaking national youth charity, and we are looking to recruit a fantastic new North West Wellbeing Manager and Programme Support to join our North West team on a 4 day a week contract (30 hrs).

Our accredited programmes are unique and attractive to young people, taking them from beginner to qualified snowsports instructors in just one year with volunteering and apprenticeship progression routes available at the end. Alongside learning to ski or snowboard, young people also have access to wellbeing support with the emphasis on improving young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

You will report to the North West Programme Manager & Head of Snowsports and will be responsible for the delivery of our wellbeing workshops and providing 1to1 wellbeing support sessions to young people. You will also work as part of the North West team to assist with the planning and delivery of snowsports and life-skills focused youth activities run by the Programme Manager and assist with the apprenticeship programme throughout each year.

Experience of working successfully with under-served young people in a range of settings, with a focus on supporting young people’s wellbeing will be essential to the post. Passion for snowsports and supporting young people generally will be a huge advantage!

Youth work, wellbeing support experience, project management, logistical skills, managing relationships, communication and presentation skills will make up the role. Along with experience of delivering group workshops to help young people work towards meaningful goals to improve their emotional wellbeing.

Job Description

• You will spend roughly 2.5 days will be in the Wellbeing Manager role and 1.5 days will be in the Programme Support role each week.

The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of excellent fundraising results and fundraising compliance standards and specifically the delivery of performance improvements in our F2F fundraisers through coaching, training, and continuous development. The role will also involve direct fundraising where you will be expected to meet a personal target.

Key Accountabilities:

• Responsible for coaching the performance of multiple teams in the region that will consist of lone workers, pairs of fundraisers to bigger teams as the income plan increases.
• Responsible for an individual fundraising target and set of KPI’s that include inspiring people to become long-term monthly donors, generating income through contactless one-off donations and acquiring newsletter prospecting sign ups in a range of locations including residential door-to-door, town and city centres, private venues, and events and more commonly on our private land, the canal and river Towpaths.
• Acting as a hands-on fundraiser who leads by example, delivering fundraising income through signing up Friends and generating contactless income whilst demonstrating the Canal & River Trust ‘s values and behaviours.
• Generating income and being present on-site to visit fundraising teams, fundraise with them, cover sickness absence, coach performance, provide training & development of fundraisers, reinforce our culture of health & safety, embed compliance standards.
• Provide phone coaching and in-person coaching of fundraisers to support meeting their targets and KPI’s and in individual cases working with fundraisers to improve their results from their current level of performance to the required standard by equipping them with the technical and psychological training to work to their very best.
• Identify training requirements and deliver on and off field training and coaching to grow income.

• Undertake mystery shopping, observations and internal quality control auditing of values, behaviour, and fundraising technique.

• Working with our partner recruitment agency to arrange interviews, send out communications to candidates and sit on the interview panel with the aim of recruiting and onboarding new F2F fundraisers into the F2F programme.
• Support the delivery of performance incentives and setting up/editing teams on Evergiving and the rota.
• Provision of daily reports of observations and actions taken, areas of success, results for that day and areas of training and development identified.
• Process all sensitive and data protected information obtained by donors as confidential and in a safe and secure manner in line with the Trust’s GDPR and Security Procedures.
• Carrying out Daily Compliance training, Charity conversation, case for support and storytelling practice and Health and Safety training sessions as per directed by the Regional F2F Fundraising Manager.
• Manages feedback and complaints in a professional manner and follows the complaints process and communicates details to Regional F2F Fundraising Manager so it can be addressed in a timely and efficient manner.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

The AV Technician's primary function will be to provide technical support across all meeting room spaces and run events in the main theatre of 700 seats and in the Education Centre of 100 seats. About the Role

MSI is in the process of rolling out a Global Data Warehouse (GDW) using the Microsoft Modern Data Warehouse (MDW) suite of applications, principally Azure Synapse, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps, Power Apps and Power BI. The aim is to produce a single repository of global data, and to improve & modernise MSI’s reporting, ensuring it is fit for both Global Head Office and the Country Programmes’ strategies and operating models.

This is a 12-month fixed term role to act as a technical expert within the BI Reporting team on the GDW project. The successful candidate will report into the Project’s technical lead assisting with the design, development and delivery of requirements as prioritised by the Project Board.
