The Chartered College of Teaching is currently working on a number of exciting projects, and is looking for an EdTech Evidence Lead who will play a key role in the success of these projects. By joining our team as EdTech Evidence Lead, you’ll be helping us to support educators and EdTech companies to strengthen their use of evidence and build understanding around the effectiveness of EdTech products in schools and colleges. 

The role will run until March 2026 in the first instance, with potential for extension.

Job Title: EdTech Evidence Lead
Salary: circa £40,000 per annum dependent on experience

The Opportunity

The EdTech Evidence Lead will play a key role in delivering one of our key projects, focusing on EdTech Evidence. Drawing on their experience and knowledge of EdTech, they will support EdTech companies and educators to build understanding about gathering and evaluating evidence for different EdTech products. They will develop guidance and materials to facilitate this, and work with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to develop resources, systems and processes that aim to promote and recognise ‘high-quality’ evidence around EdTech. 

Main responsibilities include:

• Developing tools and resources to support individuals and organisations to engage with, and in, gathering and evaluating evidence around EdTech
• Developing guidance and training which helps EdTech companies plan and carry out evidence-gathering activities for their products and prepares them to submit evidence for formal review
• Contributing to the development and delivery of processes and systems for formally reviewing EdTech evidence
• Build relationships with EdTech companies and other key stakeholders to understand their use of evidence relating to EdTech and engage them with the project
• Liaising with a range of stakeholders to promote the use of EdTech evidence and seek input into the design and development of key project deliverables
• Representing the project externally to promote engagement with both the project, and with EdTech evidence generally
• Leading on the delivery of key project deliverables and monitoring progress towards these.

Additionally:

• Attending and participate in CPD learning activities and training to maintain and develop your knowledge and skills 
• Arranging and participate in meetings, as required
• Performing other activities as and when required in order to fulfil the purpose and requirements of the role.

You will have a strong knowledge of all aspects HR and provide proactive, practical support on day-to-day operations as well as leading strategic HR projects. A keen understanding of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) in the workplace and employee wellbeing is an advantage.

This role is essential to ensure we continue to be an effective, inclusive and people-led organisation. Your role will be vital in making sure Breaking Barriers is and continues to be a great place to work for its staff.

You will deliver day to day HR support to team members and managers, work across the organisation to advise on HR policies and good practice, deliver recruitment processes, and deliver and track Learning & Development. You will support on wider strategic initiatives, working with the Director of People to embed new strategies and projects informed by employee feedback.

Overview:  

Spires supports homeless and vulnerably housed people in South London. Spires has undergone a period of rapid transformation, moving to a model of multi-site working across three London Boroughs. Our core services include, day centre style drop ins for homeless people, a Women’s drop in, a Refugee drop in and outreach targeted at supporting Women who are sex working.  
 
The Head of Fundraising and Communications will be joining the organisation at an exciting time. Recent successful funding outcomes provide a short period of relative funding stability and an opportunity for the post holder to develop our communications and community fundraising strategies.

Part 1:  Job profile 

 
1.1 Purpose of job 

To generate income from a diverse funding pool that includes trusts and foundations, legacy and individual giving, community giving, government contracts and corporate support. Trusts and foundations remain the primary funding source for Spires so maintaining consistent application output is a core element of the role.

Oversee Spires’ external relations and public profile. The post holder will be responsible for all communications and will look for areas to increase the organisations profile.

Work with Spires CEO and the Head of Client Services to ensure that data and outcomes are being effectively captured in a way that is helpful for evidencing impact.

1.2 Position in organisation 

The post holder joins Spires’ Senior Leadership Team and will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The post holder will join the finance, fundraising and risk subcommittee which includes members of the board of trustees.

The post holder will manage the Communications and Community Engagement Lead who currently leads on community fundraising, social media and volunteer recruitment.

Part 2: Key duties and responsibilities 

2.1 Management Responsibilities 

• To manage the fundraising/communications staff and volunteers.

• Hold and record regular staff supervisions.

• Ensure that Spires’ policies are adhered to.

• Attend Spires’ managers meetings.

2.2 Income generation  

• Maximise existing and find new income to meet agreed income targets. 

• Research, write and present attractive propositions for a range of quality funding bids, proposals and documentation. 

• Produce and submit quality funding reports to meet deadlines.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fundraising regulations, networks and developments across the sector, advising on best practice 

2.3 Planning, monitoring and reporting  

• Contribute to the internal planning and budget setting, setting out clear plans for income generation. 

• Contribute to forecasting and regular reporting, producing verbal and written reports for the CEO and Board of Trustees. 

• Actively manage contracts to ensure that Spires is delivering agreed outcomes and spending restricted funds correctly.

2.4 General 

• Review and update the fundraising strategy.

• Undertaking other duties compatible with the level and nature of the post and/or reasonably required by more senior members of staff, including session cover

Part 4: Summary of terms and conditions of service 

Location: The postholder will be an employee of The Spires Centre. This post is based at 2nd Floor, Elmfield House, 5 Stockwell Mews, SW9 9GX This role will by hybrid with three days in the office and two days from home.

Probation: This post is subject to a 6 month probationary period.

Notice: This post is subject to an 12 weeks’ notice period once confirmed in post. 

Annual leave: The annual leave entitlement is 35 days per year including 8 bank holidays.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work on World Cancer Research Fund International’s Global Cancer Update Programme (CUP Global). CUP Global (previously known as CUP) is a unique, long-standing, and rigorous research programme that systematically gathers, analyses, and judges the strength of the global evidence on how diet, nutrition, physical activity and body weight affect cancer risk and survival. This work led to the publication of the authoritative Third Expert Report in 2018, which now needs updating in places to remain relevant and impactful. 

As Senior Research Interpretation Officer, you will be a valuable member of the Research Interpretation team and the CUP Global scientific Secretariat. Your core work will be supporting the management of CUP Global on a day-to-day basis to help deliver its main objective of updating the Third Expert Report. You will provide scientific input, administrative support, and help coordinate specific work areas of CUP Global.

We are looking to recruit someone who has a Masters degree in public health sciences, particularly nutrition and/or cancer research, and with a good understanding of epidemiological concepts. YOUTH WORK PRACTITIONER
​South East Sports

We’re looking for a Youth Work Practitioner to join our team and help us grow our sports work in South East London. In this role, you’ll support more young people to get involved in sport, stay active and build important life skills like teamwork, confidence and resilience. You’ll also help us improve what we offer for girls, making sure more of them feel welcome, included and able to enjoy our sports sessions.

Key responsibilities:   

This position can operate from any of our national bases, working from either our London, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, South or North England hubs - Hybrid working 

Programme development:   

• Support the design of Money Ready’s programme development cycles.   

• Support with the development of the content and standards for all Money Ready programmes; structure, model and design.   

• Work with the monitoring and evaluation function to understand the impact of how we are designing our programmes.   

• Gain feedback through the internal ‘looking and listening’ processes to support improvements on programmes, balancing learner, trainer and external views.   

• Holding responsibility for our Core Subject Knowledge (CSK) quality, ensuring the information is correct and up to date, assisting with the refresh of key information for new and existing programmes. Provide the Training and Development manager any refreshed or new content for CSK when programmes are developed, for them to implement and roll out.   

Process implementation:   

• Deliver the quality assurance programme of Money Ready programmes across the UK; utilising the regional hub structure.   

• Taking the lead on accreditation, including moderation reporting and resolution of queries.   

• Support the Money Ready education and accreditation framework ensuring trainers have everything they need to help young people and adults have the best shot at achieving accreditation.    

• Co-ordinate annual training on the IV process and moderation.   

• Provide training and support with content and programme development processes.   

• Manage the development and maintenance of internal tracking systems for use by regional teams to report the QT activities.   

External relations   

• Be the day-day connection to our accreditation partner and support the quality control processes that they implement   

• Be the best ambassador for our work to all external stakeholders including young people, delivery partners, politicians, funders, the press, the wider education community, local authorities and so on.

Youth Engagement Officer  

Location: Hybrid. Expected to be in our London office in Victoria at least one day per week. You can be remote every other day or come into the office. Your office days are flexible and can be agreed with your manager, other than for monthly team days where you must be in person. Some nationwide travel expected for Youth Steering Group training days, events and conferences. After passing probation, up to six weeks ‘super remote’ working per year, where you can work anywhere in the world as long as you’re online for four hours of the UK workday.

You will also help the group to participate in FEA decision making, support the design and facilitation of their monthly meetings and training days, help them make progress against their personal development plans. This role will include working directly with young people, session planning and facilitation, policy research and managing logistics.

Ensure the Fair Education Youth Summit is a success and remains truly youth-led  

Our Youth Steering Group design and run the annual Fair Education Youth Summit. The event is led by young people for young people and brings together young changemakers from across our membership and the wider education and youth sectors to develop their youth leadership skills, collaborate on campaigns, and engage directly with decision makers. You will support the young people to design sessions, secure speakers, embed past feedback and plan the event structure. You will also support with the event logistics, guestlist management, participant communications and collecting attendee feedback.

Support our members to improve their youth engagement practice  

Our Youth Engagement Working Group supports FEA members and other sector organsiations to increase and improve their own youth engagement practice. You will support the management of logistics, promote the workshops, and communicate with working group members. You will also support the facilitation of the workshops and ensure the attendee data and feedback is correctly logged and actioned. The critical responsibilities of this role are described above.
