Transforming the national response to child sexual abuse
The Lighthouse is the first UK Child’s House, a national leader in trauma-informed, multidisciplinary support for children and young people who have experienced child sexual abuse. Based in Camden and serving North Central London, we provide integrated health assessments, therapeutic interventions, advocacy through the criminal justice process, and video recorded interviews led by clinical psychologists. Our model has influenced policy and practice across the UK, improving well-being for children and carers, and increasing convictions.
We are seeking an experienced, professionally registered Social Worker to join our team of social workers and ChISVAs. If you want to shape how social workers respond to children as victims of crime, and you are ready to deepen your expertise in complex safeguarding, this is an exceptional opportunity to work within a unique and nationally influential service.
Main Duties of the Job
In this role, you will provide specialist child-centred advocacy and coordinated support for children and young people as they navigate the criminal justice process following sexual abuse. Acting as a dedicated ChISVA-informed practitioner, you will ensure that each child understands their rights, feels heard and supported, and is prepared for every stage of their justice journey, from early decision making to court outcomes. You will offer clear, accessible information about police processes, ABE interviews, CPS decisions and court expectations, and you will work closely with police, social care and legal partners to ensure the child’s best interests remain central.
Your work will span early safeguarding oversight, holistic needs assessments and collaborative care planning with our multidisciplinary team, including CAMHS clinicians, social workers, paediatricians and NSPCC therapeutic practitioners. You will be a consistent point of contact for children, young people and their safe family members, helping them manage trauma-related needs, address practical barriers and access the support and interventions recommended by the Lighthouse. This position will lead on creating and delivering a strategic programme across mid-value, major donors, high-net-worth individuals, corporates, trusts and foundations. Working closely with the Director of People, Culture and Governance and the Director of Finance and Operations, you’ll also support organisational risk management and policy assurance at executive and board level.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as Board Secretary for Turn2us, providing expert support to the Board and committees
- Lead the annual governance cycle, including planning, meeting schedules, agendas, papers and minutes
- Ensure actions and decisions are tracked effectively and followed through
- Maintain accurate governance and statutory records, including regulatory filings and registers
- Own and develop group-level governance frameworks, policies and standards
- Partner with the Elizabeth Finn Homes Board Secretary to ensure consistency and proportionate assurance across the group
- Advise trustees, NEDs, CEOs and senior leaders on legal, regulatory and fiduciary responsibilities
- Monitor developments in charity law, company law and governance best practice, translating them into practical guidance and training
- Support oversight of organisational risk frameworks and governance-related policy compliance
- Lead the three-yearly independent governance review and implementation of recommendations
- Drive board development, including succession planning, skills audits, recruitment, induction and training
- Manage conflicts of interest processes and support strong governance culture
- Champion equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging (EDIB) at board level
- Lead and mentor the governance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment
About you:
You’ll bring substantial experience in a governance or company secretarial role, ideally within the not-for-profit sector, and be confident operating at board level.

The Communications Lead will ensure that we are able to extend the reach and understanding of harm reduction related to drugs and alcohol. This post will ensure The Loop expands its profile and presence, capacity and response, to maximise the opportunities to communicate harm reduction messages and information, raises the awareness, access and understanding of drug checking, and engages stakeholders and members of the public.
This will require the postholder to:
- Coordinate and increase the capacity of The Loop to effectively communicate related to our aims and purpose
- Develop and disseminate social media content, in collaboration with colleagues across The Loop
- Work with partners of The Loop including press and media to further the profile of The Loop for strategic benefit and greater reach to the public.
You will be motivated to assist in the development and delivery of The Loop and possess knowledge of drugs-related harm reduction approaches including messaging, with related or transferable experience in communications. You will contribute and be part of a passionate team of staff and volunteers determined to further introduce drug checking and related harm reduction interventions across the UK.

What you'll do:

The Alzheimer’s Society UK Dementia Trials Network (UKDTN) Trial Finder is an open-access platform that connects people living with mild cognitive impairment or dementia, their families, and healthcare professionals, with research opportunities across the UK. It empowers people to make informed decisions about taking part in clinical trials, wherever they live.
We are looking for a Clinical Trial Finder Officer who can ensure this platform is accurate, accessible, and meaningful. By raising awareness of, and widening access to, clinical trial opportunities, your work will help more people to take part in clinical trials and feel more in control of their journey.
You will work closely with colleagues across the Alzheimer’s Society UKDTN Research Nurse Programme, Research Communications team, Data and Digital teams, Participation team, and with a range of external partners to maintain the Trial Finder, respond to enquiries, and ensure that the platform is reliable, culturally informed and inclusive. - Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Trial Finder, keeping it reliable, user-friendly, and up-to-date.

Cafes are delivered at our Brigstock Road Community Hall and across the borough in local community venues.
The main areas of responsibility for this role are: coordinating, facilitating and expanding the existing café and carers’ group; including prioritising café expansion supported by current funding, and developing a new preventative strand of the service providing information and advice to residents on reducing the risk of developing dementia.
The post holder will take lead responsibility for the delivery, monitoring and evaluation of our dementia-related services across the borough. You will line manage and support the dementia service staff and volunteer team to provide a welcoming, inclusive environment within our Memory Tree Cafes and carers’ support groups which promotes interaction, stimulation and wellbeing. You will also build and maintain positive working relationships across Age UK Croydon and with external partners, referrers and stakeholders, including health professionals and voluntary organisations, to strengthen, develop and promote the service.

The Job
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Finance and Reporting will lead all aspects of financial planning, reporting and control. You will oversee budgeting and forecasting, produce high-quality management accounts, and lead the preparation of statutory accounts in line with Charity SORP.
The role includes responsibility for financial reporting to senior leadership, funders, partners and regulatory bodies, oversight of the annual audit, strengthening internal financial controls and managing financial risk. You will manage and develop the finance and management accounts teams and work closely with operational, fundraising and business development colleagues to support informed, strategic decision-making.
The Person
You will be a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CIPFA) with significant post-qualification experience in senior finance roles. You will be confident communicating complex financial information to financial stakeholders and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, multi-funded environment.
