Spires was established as a response to homelessness in the late 1980s. Spires has developed into an organization that provides a range of services, including day centre style drop-ins for homeless people, a Women’s drop in, a Refugee drop in and outreach targeted at supporting Women who are sex working. Our core mission is to support homeless people into housing and to assist those who have been homeless in maintaining their accommodation.
Part 1: The Role
The Women’s Service Coordinator will manage Spires’ Women’s service offer. The Women’s Service offer comprises of:
- Spires-Street Link, which is a dedicated nighttime outreach service to support women who are involved in street-based sex working. This includes follow up work, casework, and multi-agency working.
- Centre based support for women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. This also includes casework and supporting Spires’ Housing and Homelessness team.
Part 2: Key duties and responsibilities
- Manage a small team of support workers and a team of dedicated volunteers.
- Oversee the delivery of effective assessment and allocation for clients.
- Oversee the effectiveness of casework across the Women’s Service.
- Directly support a small caseload of clients.
- Manage the team’s rota to ensure sufficient coverage across activities.
- Represent Spires to external organisations, developing and maintaining good working relationships with other professionals, community organisations, and statutory agencies.
- Manage the teams’ outcomes and data to produce reports for funders and stakeholders.
- Support Spires’ fundraising manager in making applications where required.
Part 3: Person specification
Essential experience:
- Experience of working with women with complex support needs (including substance addiction, mental health needs, domestic violence, no recourse to public funds and sex working) .
- Experience of managing people within a relevant sector.
- Experience of challenging appropriately and maintaining clear and appropriate boundaries
- Networking and effectively liaising with specialist service providers or agencies in order to establish and/or improve access to services for clients.

Part 4: Summary of terms and conditions of service
Probation: This post is subject to a 6-month probationary period.
Notice: This post is subject to one week’s notice during the probationary period and a six-week notice period thereafter.
Annual leave: The annual leave entitlement is 35 days per year pro rata, made up of eight bank and public holidays and 27 days annual leave. The 27 days annual leave is normally split between 24 ‘bookable’ days and three closure days that fall between Christmas and the New Year. Although the centre is closed between Christmas and the New Year, we open on Christmas Day for clients. Staff are encouraged to work on Christmas Day if available. Double time off in lieu is offered in return.
Pension: The Spires Centre operates an Opt-out group pension arrangement and currently contributes 5% of annual salary for those who qualify. Personal contributions are currently 3%.
Other benefits: The Spires Centre will provide life and income protection insurance for those who qualify for our group plans.
Safeguarding: The postholder will adhere to The Spires Centre’s safeguarding policy for vulnerable adults. This post is also subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

About the role
We are looking for someone to join our service at South Camden Mental health Accommodation services as a Support Worker (known internally as a Project Worker). Across our service, we support people in High and low support accommodation who have a mental health diagnosis and other complex needs. We are committed to working with a Recovery Based Approach and supporting people to meet their individual needs.

The role
The post holder will work alongside our Co-Executive Director, Head of Legal and Legal Administrator in developing and managing Foxglove’s legal work. You will develop and drive forward a significant number and range of cases, including the development of case theories, investigating and collecting evidence, drafting correspondence, evidence and submissions. You will also be responsible for coordinating and managing external legal teams, in multiple jurisdictions. This will require you to have the comfort and ability to navigate diverse settings, while also having the insight to weigh up the benefits and challenges of pursuing cases in different jurisdictions. You will serve as an external representative for Foxglove’s work, writing and speaking on topics of relevance. You will also be a sparring partner for others in the team, bringing a creative mindset and political savviness. UK and international travel are required. Flexibility with working hours will sometimes be needed.

Length and Salary
The role is permanent. The annual salary is £88,400 per annum less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance.
Our team works remotely, and this role can be based anywhere. We would prefer you to work within or close to UK office hours, but this is flexible. Our team travels every two months for team days and twice a year for team retreats. This role will include significant UK and international travel. MAIN TASKS

To provide a safe, inclusive and welcoming service for those who are seeking to gain employment opportunities, including exploring goals and available support.

To assess and support a one-to-one caseload of clients to develop and review tailored self-development plans, with clear actions that encourage personal responsibility, ambition, and progression towards employment through suitable opportunities and meaningful activities.

To support clients with job searches and career development through CV writing, job applications and interview preparation.

To encourage ambition and positivity using a strengths-based approach, while working with clients to understand their individual support needs and support progression into employment.

To undertake employer engagement activities and support the planning and delivery of job fairs and workshops.

To participate in Employment, Training and Volunteering drop-in services and events to allow varied points of access for clients to engage with support, including at the Passage Resource Centre, at Passage accommodation projects and with external partners.

To build and maintain a strong network of referral partners and apprenticeship pathways, ensuring the service is accessible to individuals who would benefit from it

To build and maintain positive relationships with employment, training and volunteering organisations and partners, including attending off-site networking events

To have an understanding of the Universal Credit system and the relationship between employment and benefits, and to encourage clients to seek specialist advice where appropriate to support positive outcomes.

In partnership with Fundraising colleagues, develop and implement opportunities for our corporate partners to deliver training or get involved in volunteering.

To work with the Lived Experience Project Manager to ensure we provide opportunities for clients to get involved in the shaping of the service to further develop the project appropriately.

To deliver client work and workshops in line with defined Key Performance Indicators and ensure accurate data inputting on our In-Form database in a timely fashion and produce data for reports as requested.

To participate in weekly client reception shifts alongside the wider Community Services Team.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

In conjunction with your Line Manager to continuously develop the role to ensure that all tasks are being undertaken in an effective and appropriate manner which meets the strategic aims and objectives of The Passage.

To participate in internal/external meetings as required, and attend training events, conferences and other functions as necessary.

To participate in regular supervision, case managements and annual appraisal, and help in identifying your own job-related development and training needs.

To ensure that all The Passage policies and procedures are being adhered to.

To contribute to the effective implementation of The Passage’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Policy as it affects both The Passage and its work with vulnerable adults.

EXPERIENCE
E1 Experience of working in a similar post, either a paid or voluntary capacity, supporting disadvantaged groups to secure employment.
E2 Experience in supporting individuals to identify their strengths, set personal goals, and take steps towards securing and sustaining employment.
E3 Experience of managing a complex caseload and working within an evidence-based practice framework to meet targets and Key Performance Indicators.
E4 Experience of supporting or participating in recruitment opportunities, job fairs and employment events
E5 Experience of working with a diverse range of partner organisations to achieve positive outcomes.
E6 Experience of working with databases and recording systems to evidence your work (training will be provided).
KNOWLEDGE
K1 Knowledge of Universal Credit and welfare benefits, and the implications when getting back into employment
K2 Knowledge of initiatives surrounding homelessness and employment
K3 Knowledge of how to influence and practice positive engagement
