We’re currently looking to welcome a new Communications and Campaigns Officer to join our team at the Society of Authors (SoA) which is the UK's largest trade union for all types of writers, illustrators and literary translators. We’ve been advising authors and speaking out for the profession since 1884. 

Role overview

To support and deliver the internal and external communications and campaigns with the goal of enhancing the SoA’s profile, engage stakeholders, and promote key initiatives. The successful candidate will have at least two years’ experience in content creation, media and policy monitoring, digital marketing, and multimedia communications across a range of channels, including newsletters and social media. Objectives • Help to ensure consistent, high-quality communications and campaigns across all channels. • Provide support for brand visibility and audience engagement through digital marketing. • Provide support for delivering content via The Author magazine and outgoing mailers. • Support organisational campaigns, events, and key initiatives. • Monitor media coverage and policy developments, and evaluates website and communications performance. 

Key responsibilities

• Media monitoring and reporting: monitor media for relevant coverage and compile regular media reports and summaries, maintaining media contact lists and databases.

• The Author magazine and mailers: liaise with The Author magazine production team, contributors and internal departments, support with the production schedules and deadlines. Oversee the administration and invoicing for The Author advertising and subscribers. Support with distribution and performance tracking (e.g. open rates, click through rates). Provide support for development of membership mailouts including proofing. 

• Digital marketing and social media: contribute to the development of digital marketing campaigns across platforms – create and schedule engaging content, monitor engagement metrics and optimise content performance.

• Design and visual communication: produce basic graphics for digital and print (e.g. social posts, newsletters, flyers, banners). Support with the layout and visual design of newsletters and publications. Work with approved templates and design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe suite basics).

• Video and multimedia production: create and edit short-form video content for social media, newsletters, and website. Support with the filming of events, interviews, or promotional material for SoA events and campaigns. Add captions, branding, and basic effects to videos.

• Event promotion: support the Events and Engagement team with the communications and digital marketing plans for events, supporting with the creation of promotional materials (digital and print), proof events copy, ensure visibility of promotion on our website.

• Website: contribute to the content management of the SoA and Human Authored websites, updating content and posts as needed.

WHAT THE GLOBAL MARKETING MANAGER ROLE INVOLVES

• Leading the development and delivery of core fundraising and marketing resources – social media, web, email, film, magazine, direct mail appeals, major donor proposals, and church and volunteer resources – providing creative direction, project management and quality assurance throughout.

• Overseeing the creative concept development process for global fundraising and marketing campaigns, providing strategic input and creative direction.

• Line managing a team of two Marketing Project Managers, and building relationships with marketing and communications leads across our 25 global offices.

• Managing corporate brand guidelines and giving guidance to our fundraising offices and international specialists on brand execution.

• Managing the marketing budget, monitoring expenditure and ensuring cost-effective delivery of marketing activities.

• Planning and managing the end-to-end delivery of marketing projects, including schedules, creative briefs and stakeholder engagement, and evaluating performance through usage and campaign response data

• Staying at the forefront of strategic brand and marketing thinking, and bringing best practice in from the wider charity sector.

• Supporting new markets development, with a particular focus on effective digital communications, plus ad-hoc support for major donor relationships.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• Significant experience in integrated marketing communications environment; a charity background is highly desirable.
• A track record of delivering complex projects and programmes with significant outcomes, ideally in church or supporter engagement.
• Experience applying brand strategy, positioning and execution to grow engagement , and of working with agencies and freelance specialists. 
• Good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign , Photoshop and Premier Pro), with the ability to review and edit creative assets for quality and accuracy.
• Strong organisational skills, able to run multiple projects at once without losing quality or pace.

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Site Manager - North to join us. This role will be responsible for approximately 30 Woodland Trust Sites in the Eastern part of North Yorkshire. This includes Scar and Castlebeck, a large SSSI woodland in the heart of the North York Moors and Robson Spring- a Plantation Ancient Woodland Site close to Helmsley, and a well distributed portfolio of Woodland Trust sites across the rest of the county.

The Role:

• Lead the sustainable management of a diverse portfolio of high-profile woodland sites, including ancient woodland, designated habitats, veteran trees and secondary woodland, ensuring compliance with the UK Woodland Assurance Standard.
• Develop, implement and review long-term woodland management plans, using woodland condition assessments and monitoring data to drive conservation and operational outcomes.
• Plan, procure and manage woodland works programmes, including preparing specifications, tendering contracts and monitoring contractor performance on site.
• Create safe, welcoming woodland environments by carrying out tree safety inspections, risk assessments and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
• Deliver annual work programmes and budgets across multiple sites, overseeing woodland management activities, financial performance and grant funding opportunities.

The Candidate:

• Proven experience in forestry, conservation, land management or a related sector, with responsibility for managing woodlands and sites of high conservation value.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects, managing multiple workstreams, budgets, resources and reporting requirements to achieve successful outcomes.
• Experience procuring, managing and monitoring contracts and contractors, including developing specifications, tendering works and overseeing delivery on site.
• Strong knowledge of woodland ecology, forestry legislation and best-practice woodland management, including dealing with tree pests, diseases and invasive non-native species.
• Experience working with deer management programmes, government agencies and regulatory bodies to deliver conservation objectives, secure grants and obtain statutory consents.
• Sound understanding of health and safety management in outdoor and remote working environments, including tree safety inspections, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Effective people leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, volunteers and external partners.
• Relevant qualification in forestry, land management or a related discipline (HND, degree or equivalent experience)

About the role

The role of Programme and Recruitment Coordinator sits at the heart of delivering our flagship Associate Programme. You’ll accompany individuals through the journey from candidates to Associates, support their onboarding and matching to placements, hold the logistics for their regular afternoon training sessions and project manage key milestones in the Programme such as the residential.

This role will work with our London and international core team and current Associates. You will be managed by the Co-Lead of On Purpose London, Head of Programme & Organisational Development, and work closely with the Programme Delivery Manager and Co-Lead, Head of Business Development & Community on specific workstreams.

In this role, you will:

Ensure Associates have an excellent experience throughout their time at On Purpose

• Support the delivery of Associate training sessions, which requires being physically present every Friday afternoon in central London to coordinate the session logistics, acting as venue and trainer liaison.
• Lead on communications with Associates, including acting as the first point of contact on many areas of the Programme
• Lead on the logistics of a range of in-person and online events, including induction, residentials and end of year celebration events
• Support the Programme Delivery Manager in other aspects of Programme delivery, including maintaining a library of learning resources, weekly communication with Associates and other ad hoc tasks.

Manage the logistics of the recruitment selection process for the Associate Programme

• Manage queries from candidates during the recruitment process
• Project manage review of Associate programme applications using AI and human application scoring systems, and participate in application scoring alongside the wider team
• Coordinate interview slots and lead on communications with interviewees
• Coordinate interviewers, leading on recruiting and communicating with interviewers, and coordinate the logistics of interviewing days
• Coordinate process for giving feedback to unsuccessful candidates and issuing offers

Manage onboarding process for the Associate Programme

• Lead on end to end communications with new Associates from issuing offer letters through onboarding checks and providing timely information about starting the programme
• Provide administrative support for our placement matching process, coordinating with the Head of Business Development and Marketing & Communications Manager to prepare materials, and run logistics of the process.
• Manage internal processes for onboarding new Associates including set up on tech systems, gathering information to add people to payroll and confirming right to work, and liaising with placement organisation’s HR teams as needed.

Support the smooth running of the organisation administratively

• Provide administrative support around finance and HR, including processing and generating invoices, and on-boarding new team members
• Manage office-related activities including liaising with the landlords of our serviced offices, ordering supplies, managing post etc
• Manage the two general email mailboxes and respond to inquiries
• Onboard new Mentors, Coaches and Partners to our community and help keep our CRM system up to date

Support organisational improvement initiatives

• Support On Purpose’s impact management practice, including collecting and maintaining data and feedback
• Support On Purpose to develop our community, including sending communications to partners and supporting community events
• Support On Purpose to expand our outreach to placement organisations, e.g. by identifying and communicating with potential organisations.

About the roles

These senior leadership roles provide strategic and operational oversight of WGN’s Clinical Services, ensuring the delivery of innovative, safe, high-quality, survivor-centred, trauma-informed and culturally responsive therapeutic support for survivors of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG).

1. Head of Clinical Services

The Head of Clinical Services leads a multidisciplinary team delivering individual therapy, group work, body-based therapies and web-based counselling within WGN’s intersectional Black feminist framework and Holistic Empowerment Recovery (HER) Model. They will shape the strategic direction of clinical services, strengthen partnerships, embed strong clinical governance and safeguarding practice, and foster a culture of collective care, reflective practice and anti-oppressive leadership.

This role combines strategic leadership, service development, clinical oversight and people management to ensure WGN’s therapeutic services remain sector-leading, accessible and survivor-led.

This role is offered on a part-time basis (21 hours per week worked over 3 days) with a remuneration of £53,000 - £57,000 per annum (£31,800 - £34,200 pro-rated)

2. Clinical Manager 

The Clinical Manager role leads the day-to-day operational management and development of WGN’s Clinical Services, ensuring the delivery of innovative, safe, high-quality, survivor-centred, trauma-informed and culturally responsive support for survivors of violence against women and girls (VAWG).

Working with the Therapeutic Manager, they will provide clinical and operational leadership across counselling services, supporting therapists and practitioners to manage clinical risk and safeguarding concerns effectively, within a Black feminist, intersectional and Holistic Empowerment Recovery (HER) framework.

This role is offered on a part-time basis (28 hours per week worked over 4 days) with a remuneration of £43,000 - £47,000 per annum (£34,400 - £37,600 pro-rated)

The Role

Reporting to the Trading Director, you will be responsible for supporting and developing a group of Shop Managers, helping them maximise sales, donations, Gift Aid income and community engagement while ensuring shops operate safely, compliantly and efficiently.

As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will contribute to the wider development of the trading business, lead operational projects, and play a key role in delivering FARA’s long-term retail strategy.

About You

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following competencies:

• Values-led leadership: A strong commitment to FARA’s mission, vision and values, with the ability to lead, coach and develop Shop Managers in a supportive, accountable and collaborative way.
• Commercial focus: Experience of achieving results through others, using KPIs, budgets and financial reports to improve sales, contribution, Gift Aid, stock generation and controllable costs.
• People development: Strong line management skills, with experience of recruitment, induction, performance management, succession planning and handling employee relations matters.
• Retail operational excellence: A sound understanding of shop operations, including pricing, culling, density, curation, sales space, sorting, layout and the ability to coach managers to improve the retail proposition.
• Compliance and risk management: Working knowledge of health and safety, risk assessments, fire risk assessments, regulatory requirements and the ability to maintain safe, compliant shops.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in an Area Manager, Regional Manager or equivalent multi-site retail role (or demonstrable desire to gain wider experience).

• Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to analyse financial and operational data.
• Experience in coaching, developing and motivating staff.

Our Young People and Families (YPF) hub provides early intervention, targeted and specialist support services to those in crisis, leaving care, missing from home or with substance misuse or mental health problems. Our services support people no matter what their situation – and have demonstrated a high success rate.

Job Description

Provide assertive outreach and engagement activities and undertake assessment for targeted and specialist treatment interventions for young people referred to the service under the supervision of senior staff.

Provide targeted and structured substance use interventions, both 1:1 and group work, for those young people aged 11-25 and their families when required. This will take place within a range of settings including, schools, community settings and home visits.

Provide satellite services away from our central office bases where required, to offer clients a wider choice of accessing substance use services and recovery support, to enable those with specialist requirements to have their needs met in appropriate settings.

Facilitate and support targeted groups, focus groups and service user participation.

Qualifications

· A relevant qualification such as youth work, counselling, health and social care, and/or relevant experience of therapeutic delivery, and alternative suitable qualifications.

· Good communication, organisational, and ICT skills.

What does good look like for this role?

· You will demonstrate knowledge and competency in delivering young people’s substance misuse interventions, to a wide arrange of individuals, according to their needs.

· You will have knowledge/understanding and or direct experience of supporting C&YP who are experiencing difficulties with their emotional wellbeing and mental health.

· You will evidence that you are able to work to a high standard of record keeping in a timely manner, in accordance with Catch22 delivery outcomes, targets and recording procedures.
