Specific Duties & Responsibilities
 
Service Delivery & Development

• Work closely with the Youth Work Manager and wider youth team in developing and delivering creative, inclusive and needs-led programmes, activities and services for young people that promote their wellbeing and enhance their life chances.
• Actively promote the meaningful participation of young people in shaping the ongoing development of Blend Youth Project service delivery.
• Work effectively across Blend sites and delivery locations in a range of contexts including: open drop-in sessions, alternative education provision, project-based delivery, community projects, detached work, 1:1 mentoring, residentials and school-based work.
• Function as the ‘Lead Worker’ within a variety of delivery contexts and conduct yourself as a role model in youth work practice, providing practice-based support to other staff/volunteers as required.
• Support the planning and delivery of alternative education sessions in a variety of settings as required and directed by the Alternative Education & Post-16 Manager and Specialist Teacher.
• Take a shared responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Branch, ensuring that young people have access to a range of services that meet their needs e.g. employment support, sexual health services etc.
• Take a shared responsibility for the care, upkeep and management of all Blend premises, equipment and resources, ensuring that routine practices and procedures are implemented and adhered to.
• In the absence of the Youth Work Manager, act as a key point of contact for matters such as Branch premises procedures and protocols.

The Role

We are looking for a Youth Worker to join our Youth Work team, working both on the Roundhouse Studios front desk as well as on our youth focussed projects. The role will work across our 7 day provision, with the expectation of regular evening and weekend work, to provide the highest standards of service and support to young people using the Roundhouse Studios. 

This will include administrative and front facing duties. You will be responsible for supporting and encouraging a diverse range of young people (in particular those with multiple and complex needs) aged 11-25 to engage in opportunities at the Roundhouse and assist with pastoral support.

About you:

We are looking for a candidate with experience of working alongside young people aged 11-25 years old in informal educational or youth work settings. Candidates should have knowledge and experience of safeguarding young people and be confident in speaking to young people effectively. Alongside this, we require someone that has experience in public facing/front desk roles with strong organisational and communication skills.

Public Affairs Manager (Fixed term contract)

Your purpose 

This is a critical role in the Communications, Campaigns and Public Affairs Department. As Public Affairs Manager, you will support the Head of Communications, Campaigns and Public Affairs to make oracy education ordinary, co-ordinating and  project managing and delivering public affairs work as well as leading public relations work that increases our profile with policy makers. In doing so, you will play  an integral role in ensuring all children, regardless of their background, find their voice for success in school  and in life.

Your responsibilities 

This is a senior role in the Communications, Campaigns and Public Affairs Department, as part of the wider Learning, Impact and Influence Directorate 

Public Affairs (80%)

• Drive forward Voice 21’s public affairs strategy, building key relationships, understanding and momentum that develops Voice 21’s influence with Government and non-parliamentary policy makers, ensuring that we have a meaningful role in shaping an oracy entitlement for every child, and appropriate mechanisms for its implementation

• Deliver Public Affairs business as usual work, for example; organising school visits, leading political and parliamentary monitoring, stakeholder mapping and horizon-scanning and organising events in parliament and at party conferences

• Work with policy makers on local, regional and national level to influence those responsible for the delivery of education at primary and secondary level

• Engage and manage stakeholders and other key people across and beyond the organisation who work with the Learning, Impact and Influence directorate to leverage relationships in pursuit of our organisational strategy and mission

• Lead on Voice 21’s role as secretariat to the Oracy All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) 

• Produce/co-produce consultation responses, blogs, internal and external briefings, parliamentary questions and other related communications in line with our content strategy

• Act as an internal expert consultant on public affairs, decision makers and implementation of our agenda

Public Relations (20%) 

• Deliver public relations activity to raise our profile and support our brand, including through awards, events and speaking engagements

The Role

The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers whose lives are affected by aphasia, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes. The Global Donor Acquisition Lead is a senior and highly influential role within Save the Children International (SCI). · Strengthen humanitarian acquisition readiness, working in partnership with the Humanitarian Fundraising Lead ensure compelling emergency content and rapid mobilisation strategies are in place, as well as effective journeys towards committed giving to our organization. 

· Ensure DRTV excellence and evolution, by driving best practice, coordinating a global community of practice, facilitating shared production of adverts, and exploring opportunities in connected TV (CTV) working in closely collaboration with our digital specialists and global content unit.

· Explore and test new and re-emerging channels, including offline methods such as cold mail and telemarketing, to diversify acquisition and unlock new growth opportunities.

· Provide hands-on strategic and operational support to priority markets, working in close partnership with local fundraising leadership to build capacity and capability across key acquisition channels. This includes defining joint objectives and tailored support plans, skill-sharing, and co-development of strategies to accelerate growth, without assuming direct market oversight.

· Monitor global performance and trends, working with the Insights team to analyse acquisition data, track sector benchmarks, and identify opportunities for optimisation and innovation.

· Support cost-effectiveness and LTV modelling, helping members implement robust lifetime value frameworks and tackle rising acquisition costs through smarter targeting and strategy.

· Foster a vibrant Acquisition and Individual Giving community, co-managing a global network of acquisition specialists to share best practices, build capacity, and drive collective learning.

Experience and Skills

Essential

1. Significant experience (minimum 5+ years) in strategic leadership roles in large fundraising organisations.

2. Experience of leading the development and implementation of large-scale donor acquisition strategies and strategic initiatives that require deep stakeholder engagement in complex international organisations.

3. Excellent skills across a variety of different acquisition programmes/channels, including DRTV, F2F, telemarketing and digital, including vendor and account management.

4. Ability to analyse complex data sets across multiple channels and markets to identify actionable insights. Adept at understanding market trends, consumer behaviour and competitor analysis to inform strategic decisions.

5. Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships and work effectively in a multicultural and multi-ethnic environment respecting diversity.
