Main Purpose of Position:

To provide urgent information, advice and guidance support for individuals in dealing with complex interlinked issues through intensive 1-1 personalised support service. Ensure clients are equipped with the knowledge and understanding needed to make a tangible, material difference to their lives. Ensure excellence in project and service delivery throughout the Information, Advice and Guidance service and deliver work as an integral part of the organisation.  

Responsibilities/ Core Duties:

To provide a support service through 1-1 interview sessions, telephone contact, face-to-face and in-depth support with follow-up and record keeping. This post primarily involves providing focused support to help individuals deal with urgent financial, housing, health and benefits issues and provide ongoing support often acting as a conduit, with liaison, advocacy and referral to specialist agencies in health, housing, finance and debt advice, counselling, benefits, domestic violence, immigration and other legal matters. The post-holder must support Nova’s aims, objectives and ethos for clients, staff, senior managers and trustees.

IKWRO –Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is an award-winning charity founded (as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation) in 2002. IKWRO provides direct services including advocacy and professional counselling. IKWRO opened the UK’s first specialist Middle Eastern women’s refuge. IKWRO is regularly called upon to share expertise with government, academics, and media and to train professionals from bodies such as the police, social services and schools.  

IKWRO has led the recognition of “honour” based abuse and “honour” killing as forms of violence against women and girls. Campaign successes include; the first extradition from Kurdistan-Iraq to the UK of perpetrators of “honour” killing of Banaz Mahmod, the UK’s criminalisation of forced marriage, child marriage, virginity testing and hymenoplasty, as well as the first ever national inspection of policing of “honour” based violence. 

The post-holder will help Arabic speaking women who have experienced Forced Marriage, Female Genital Mutilation and “Honour” Based Violence. Working in a confidential setting, counsellors listen attentively to their clients and offer them the time, empathy and respect they need to express their own feelings, to help them overcome their problems and to make appropriate changes to their life.

The post holder must be BACP or UKCP accredited (or equivalent e.g. HCPC) or training to achieve these accreditation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Establishing a relationship of trust and respect with clients;
• To undertake high quality direct (assessment and therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions; making autonomous clinical decisions about own professional practice.
• Develops treatment and guidance methods and give guidance using a variety of therapy and counselling techniques;

· To formulate and implement plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of clients’ mental health problems based on an appropriate multi-factorial understanding of the client’s problems and current evidence-based best practice, taking into account the current NICE guidelines.

• Studies psychological factors in the treatment and prevention of mental illness or emotional and personality disorders;
• Maintains required contacts with education or other health professionals, as appropriate, and recommends possible solutions to problems presented;
• Encouraging clients to talk about issues they feel they cannot normally share with others;
• Accepting without bias the issues raised by clients;
• Helping clients towards a deeper understanding of their concerns;
• Attending supervision and training courses;
• Liaising with IKWRO’s staff, counselors and advisors;
• Working to agreed targets in relation to client contact;
• Undertaking group as well as individual therapy on occasions;

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Community Outreach Manager to manage and expand our outreach efforts. The Community Outreach Manager will be responsible for leading a team to deliver Betknowmore UK's Community Outreach services, engaging with local communities, and supporting individuals impacted by gambling harms. 

This is a key leadership role that involves overseeing the service’s strategy, operations, and delivery, ensuring that services are accessible, effective, and meet the needs of diverse communities.

• Monitor the quality of service delivery and make improvements where necessary to meet the needs of service users.
• 3. Strategic Planning and Service Improvement:
• Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement the strategic direction for community outreach services, ensuring alignment with Betknowmore UK's wider objectives.
• Continuously evaluate service effectiveness, gathering feedback from stakeholders, service users, and team members to drive continuous improvement.
• Lead the development and implementation of outreach campaigns and partnerships to engage at-risk communities.

4. Reporting and Compliance:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of outreach activities and case management, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.
• Prepare and present regular reports on service performance, including outcomes, challenges, and achievements.
• Ensure that all outreach services meet organisational standards, as well as external regulatory requirements

5. Stakeholder Engagement and Networking:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including community organizations, local authorities, and support services.
• Represent Betknowmore UK at community events, conferences, and other networking opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with other service lines within the organization to ensure a holistic approach to supporting individuals with gambling-related harm.

Key Requirements

Essential:

• Must be London based as you will be required to attend community events and in-person meetings within the Greater London area.
• Significant experience in a leadership or managerial role within a social services, community outreach, or public health setting.
• Demonstrable experience in managing outreach or support services, with a focus on community engagement and impact.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage a team, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to analyse data and use insights to improve service delivery and outcomes.

About the role

At Sessile Court, we provide supported accommodation for adults with enduring mental health needs. We recognise that, like everyone, our customers’ needs fluctuate and, as such, the support we provide is individually tailored in line with customer needs, preferences and aspirations.

You will be responsible for ensuring that each customer has a personalised package of support in place and that risk assessments reflect a positive approach to risk-taking. You will ensure that customers have choice and control over their support and are empowered to live as independently as possible, with the long-term aim being to gradually reduce support in a safe and planned way.

You will report to the Area Manager and will be part of a wider team of experienced Team Managers, who provide peer support to each other. A typical day will involve working in partnership with a range of stakeholders involved in customers’ support, allocating and matching support workers to customers, mentoring and coaching support workers in carrying out needs assessments and reviews, and writing support plans and risk assessments.

This is a full-time position working 35 hours a week on a 9-5 basis with a requirement to participate in on-call duties approximately once every two months.

About the Role:

As the Foundation starts supporting its third cohort of Scholars, we need an organised, communications focused and proactive individual to grow our capacity in two significant areas of our work: our regular in-person events, and our recruitment and assessment process.

You will take the lead on, and quality assure, all Martingale events including our Welcome Dinner for new Scholars at the Royal Society, autumn assessment centres, regular training days for Masters and PhD students, our week-long summer residential retreats for Scholars, as well as events for current and potential funders and other stakeholders. You will also help secure high-profile speakers from relevant industries. While these events will be delivered in collaboration with other members of the team, you will bring your event management expertise to drive forward planning and delivery, and ensure these events are of the highest standards for Scholars and stakeholders.

You will also play a vital role in Martingale’s recruitment and admissions work. You will be line-managed by the Communications Manager and will support in the dissemination of Martingale recruitment materials to relevant universities, student societies, charities and learned societies, to ensure a high number of applications to the Martingale Scholarship programme. You will also work closely with the Programme Manager and Programme Officer to deliver well-run assessment centres and programme events across England and Scotland. You will also support the Communications Manager through producing high-quality content relating to Martingale events, to be distributed through our social media channels.

Event management

• Research and secure high-quality external venues for Martingale events, and work effectively with teams at those venues to ensure events are delivered within budget and to a high standard

About the role

We are looking to recruit a Youth Outreach Worker in London for a new role within our UK Safeguarding on Transport Programme. This is a 12-month outreach pilot engaging and safeguarding young people in and around Waterloo Station, helping identify and safeguard young people under 18 years at risk of criminal and sexual exploitation, county lines, missing from home, homelessness or family breakdown. This role does involve working regular unsociable hours including evenings and weekends.

You will be working to identify and  safeguard young people alongside trained volunteers and by engaging with key partners such as Southwestern Railway (SWR) Met Police, Southbank Staff, Train Operators, Youth Service and other local stakeholders.

You’ll play a key role in the development of our UK Programme and part of a dynamic team delivering Railway Children’s programme in the UK.

The Finance Manager role is a newly created role which is being introduced to strengthen the organisation’s financial management and control systems. The postholder will work across the breadth of the finance function preparing internal management accounts and external annual accounts.

In 2024, Cord changed its finance system to use Business Central. The Finance Manager will become the organisation’s main ‘admin’ user of the finance system. In the near-term, there will be a particular focus on rolling out further functionality of the system and developing financial policies and procedures.

Background

Refugee Action Kingston (RAK) is a well-established charity dedicated to supporting refugees and asylum seekers from anywhere in the world who find themselves in the Royal Borough of Kingston and neighbouring boroughs. Since its foundation in 1991, RAK has been the main provider of direct services to refugees and asylum seekers as well as promoting refugee rights.

RAK aims to support refugees through the process from their initial reception in the borough through to final integration into the local community in order to enable them to live a fulfilling life and become accepted and active participants in our local communities.  We achieve this by accomplishing a variety of outcomes for refugee and asylum-seeking families through delivering a holistic service including advice, information, counselling, education, training, and assistance in access mainstream services and employment opportunities to help them rebuild their lives.

We are looking for a registered solicitor or someone qualified up to level 3, although we will also be happy to hear from people who are qualified up to IAA Level 2 Asylum. Refugee Action Kingston provides free and independent information and advice on a one-to-one basis to refugees and asylum seekers on immigration (Level 3), welfare benefits, education, training, employment, housing, access to health and social care. The purpose of this job is to provide an effective and efficient face-to-face Immigration Advice to IAA leve l2 or 3, within the aims, policies and principles of Refugee Action Kingston.  And to provide consultancy and advice to colleagues on Immigration and Asylum issues.

Duties and responsibilities:

Casework

• Provide face to face Immigration and Asylum advice and casework to IAA Level 2 or 3
• Act for the client where necessary by liaising with the Home Office, external agencies and other Immigration Advice providers in progression of a case.
• Negotiate and advocate on behalf of clients with third parties as appropriate, both verbally and in writing.
• Assist clients with other related problems where they are an integral part of their case and refer to other advisers or specialist agencies as appropriate

Summary

The Human Resources department provides a strategic and operational HR service to the seven National Church Institutions (NCIs) and the 42 Diocesan Bishops' offices. Our HR Operations team focusses on the entire employee lifecycle providing support, advice and guidance to senior leaders, line managers and staff. The Organisational Development team lead on culture, values, wellbeing, development and our belonging & inclusion strategy. Through our External Service team, we also offer HR support on a consultancy basis to other Church of England organisations including our dioceses and cathedrals.

• Reviewing risk assessments that have been completed by staff and line managers, requesting additional information, and advising on risk mitigation;
• Supporting requests for adjustments and additional equipment may be required, including requests for Access to Work funding, liaising with Facilities and Technology Services as required;
• Supporting the Head of Health & Safety in reviewing accidents and incidents that occur across NCI sites or involve colleagues in the course of their work;

Key role requirements:

• This is a hybrid working role which can be based in our offices in either York or London.
• The HR Operations Team typically works from the London office 1-2 days per week depending on business need. Travel to other sites may also be required from time to time.

Responsibilities

In this role you will have 6 key responsibilities:

Financial: Managing a portfolio of high-value relationships and to deliver income at the agreed annual target in the first year with an expectation this will rise year on year.

Management:  You will be one of the first points of contact internally for trusts/foundations and individual major donors (IMD) related queries and will work in accordance with the major giving team strategic plan and existing procedures, practices and standards.

Relationship:You will seek to actively develop and manage excellent relationships with an agreed portfolio of trusts/foundations and IMD capable of donating a minimum of £25,000 or more as a single gift each year. In addition you will need to:

• Develop and implement professionally written action plans which will engage, inform and nurture prospects and donors to deliver gifts at the agreed level.
• Undertake timely administration to capture and record knowledge of supporters within the customer relationship management database. Work with the organisation’s systems team to utilise this information to enhance applications and giving levels
• Pro-actively develop relationships with key stakeholders within the MAF organisation(s)
• Present MAF proposals alone or with others, (member of the operational field team, CEO etc), to prospects and donors.
• Participate in events to develop relationships with donors, inviting individuals from portfolios where appropriate and co-ordinate visits to MAF overseas operations where appropriate to introduce these donors directly to the work of MAF.  

Information: Information management and analytical thinking is essential as you will present detailed, accurate and high-quality fundraising proposals to prospects and donors, ensuring any specific deadlines or funding windows are complied with.   In addition you will need to:

• Ensure that donors are thanked appropriately for their gifts with timely and appropriate reports, letters and phone call.
• Provide timely ‘report backs’ that are appropriate/agreed with each donor, to evidence effective use of funding and to encourage the opportunity to make further applications based on good stewardship and achievement of agreed outcomes.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge, and the funding priority, of projects available for funding by trusts/foundations supporters and prospects.
• Actively seeking to grow the trusts/foundations portfolio and income through the use of research

Major Donor team (practice/ procedures/training):As a key member of the team you will need to ensure procedures and standards are developed/maintained to ensure we are effective and compliant with any legislation/regulation.

CRM Database: To provide support to the Partnership Executive, who will be the team’s CRM database lead and maintain a thorough working understanding of MAF UK’s CRM system in order to answer specific team queries.  You will need to support the teams day-to-day CRM activities including producing reports, importing data, adding activities, amending details and any other relevant tasks
