Responsibilities of our Branch Support Unit Advisor: 

• Deliver proactive operational and administrative support to Volunteer Teams, Centres, and regional Operations staff, managing communications, enquiries, and departmental processes 

• Coordinate and support volunteer engagement activities, including recruitment drives, events, and with charity policies, while facilitating cat relocations and centre visits 

• Lead on organising meetings and events, sourcing cost-effective venues, managing logistics, and supporting project implementation across regional teams 

About the Branch Support Unit team: 

• We sit within the Central Operations team 

• Our day-to-day work includes; maintaining branch information on the database; arranging events lottery licenses, PetPlan, cat relocations, NCC visits and processing Annual Returns; supporting Operations staff with projects and collating and dispatching mail outs to Volunteer Teams and centres 

• We currently have a team of 8 AND ONE TEAM LEADER 

What we’re looking for in our Branch Support Unit Advisor: 

•  Administration experience preferably within an office environment 

• A customer service background with experience interacting with members of the public 

• Proven ability to multi-task and work on own initiative, accurately and under pressur 

• A confident communicator, particularly using the telephone 

• Strong Microsoft Office knowledge including Word and Excel 

• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred 

• Able to travel away from home with some overnights

Headway UK developed the Approved Provider Scheme in 2011, which is a voluntary standards-based accreditation, for rehabilitation and residential units for people with a brain injury and we are looking for a new part time team member.

By participating in the scheme Approved Provider units affirm their dedication to excellent care, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement. The accreditation of units is then published for families, individuals and professionals to help inform their choices when identifying suitable provision for brain injury survivors. Our accreditation process is designed to be collaborative and supportive, guiding units through every step towards achieving and maintaining exemplary service standards.

The role will involve, conducting and writing assessments and working with the Approved Provider and Training Manager to manage Lead Assessors, who are based around the UK and the Service User Perspective Assessors, who are either brain injury survivors, or family members/ carers.

What you will do:

• Conduct Approved Provider assessments, which includes going into brain injury residential units and assessing the services they provide and making recommendations, to improve practice against the framework.
• Writing and reviewing reports for Approved Provider units, following assessments, that clearly highlight strengths and areas for development.
• Contributing to the development and growth of Headway UK’s Approved Provider scheme, by continuing to drive forward standards and onboarding new units.
• Working with freelance Lead Assessors and Service User Perspective Assessors (who are brain injury survivors or family members) who are based around the UK, to organise assessments and ensure the schemes standards are upheld.

About you

• Prior experience of working in the field of acquired brain injury.
• Relevant professional qualification (e.g. occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, clinical psychology, physiotherapy, nursing, social work).

• Very good IT skills, including be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams).

• Be an excellent communicator, with new and existing Approved Provider units.

As Partnerships and Best Practice Lead, you will play a central role in building a national, cross-sector alliance of young people, families, practitioners, organisations and service providers. Together, this alliance will drive meaningful reform and create better pathways into adulthood for disabled young people.

This is an opportunity to help shape a new initiative from the ground up—spreading best practice, testing innovative approaches, and building strong evidence of what works.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a broad collaborative partnership of cross‑sector organisations, providers, and experts to achieve collective ambition of driving improvement in transitions support.

For over 15 years, Scotty's Little Soldiers has been supporting children and young people who have been bereaved of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces.  We are about to embark on an exciting journey which will see the charity evolve to support anyone affected by a military-connected bereavement and ultimately empower a community of more than 25,000 bereaved individuals and their families by 2035. 

Founded in 2010 by Nikki Scott following the death of her husband, Corporal Lee Scott, the charity currently offers a unique blend of emotional, practical, and educational support to over 750 young people.

Role Mission. 

To ensure that Scotty’s understands and demonstrates the impact of its work — through high-quality research, meaningful measurement, and clear reporting. You will lead the development of internal and external research projects, manage beneficiary insight gathering, and oversee the systems and frameworks we use to evaluate and share our effectiveness.  

This role is central to helping us improve what we do and explain why it matters and ensuring that lived experience remains at the heart of everything we do.  

The key responsibilities of this role are:  

Impact Measurement  

• Develop and maintain frameworks to measure the outcomes of all services and programmes.  

• Ensure Success Measures (KPIs) and qualitative feedback tools are aligned to our Theory of Change.  

• Work with the Families (service delivery) team to embed consistent and meaningful data collection across all services.  

• Design simple, automated reporting processes to reduce manual admin and improve data use, making effective use of Scotty’s CRM.  

Research & Insight  

• Lead internal research projects using beneficiary data, surveys, and feedback loops.  

• Scope and manage external research partnerships with academic institutions or sector bodies.  

• Design and deliver surveys to beneficiaries and the wider bereaved military community  

• Produce evidence to support service development, strategic decisions, influence national policy, and funding bids.

Communication of Impact  

• Create clear, accessible insight reports and data summaries for internal and external use  

• Lead the delivery of the annual Impact Report (content, structure, coordination with teams).  

• Develop quarterly insight packs for funders and stakeholders, with engaging visuals and stories.  

• Work with the Outreach Squad to ensure impact is integrated into campaigns and storytelling.  

Learning & Collaboration  

• Act as the internal ‘voice of insight’ – bringing beneficiary perspective and data into key conversations.  

• Contribute to team training on evaluation, feedback collection, and outcomes thinking.  

• Participate in cross-functional planning, especially with the Service Delivery and Outreach Squads.  

Policy (Light Touch)  

• Track key developments in bereavement, the Armed Forces, and children, young people and families policy  

• Produce brief summaries or ‘position snapshots’ where relevant to Scotty’s mission  

• Build relationships with other research and impact professionals in the sector  

The 30-day goals for this role are: 

• Build a deep understanding of Scotty’s mission, our audience, the services we provide, and strategic direction. 

• Develop a deep understanding of our current Success Measures, Impact measurements and Theory of Change.  

• Reviewing research and data produced by the charity and related external research previously published.  

• Understand the data structure and reporting capabilities of Salesforce (CRM).  

• Understand existing commitments (e.g. funder report, impact reports etc).  

• Taken ownership of our 2026 Community-wide survey (project will be handed over upon start).  

The 60-day goals for this role are: 

• Audit current data quality and gaps across the F-Team Programmes.  

• Worked with the Families Team to develop the first adult lived experience advisory group.   

• Reached out to relevant impact and research groups to introduce yourself, particularly those attached the military or bereavement charitable sectors.  

• Identified 1-2 relevant conferences or forums for Scotty’s to present at.  

• Build ideas, working with the Head of Service, that can help teams improve current Success Measures and Impact measurements. 

The 90-day goals for this role are: 

• Held at least 1 adult lived experience advisory group session.  

• Created and shared the first quarterly Impact Review for internal use.   

• Fully taken accountability for impact reporting and research projects within the charity and able to demonstrate a clear plan of action for the rest of the year.  

• Proposed an outline for the Annual Family Feedback Survey in September.  

• Start to co-ordinate the 2026 Impact Report 

About You 

Must-Have  

Proven experience in research and impact evaluation, ideally in the charity or public sector  

Strong skills in data collection, survey design, and analysis

About the Role

We are seeking an individual to undertake the dual role of promoting the profile of the RAF Benevolent Funds welfare offer, whilst also carrying out welfare casework. This is a community-based position working from home but covering South Central Scotland.

Post holders will be expected to undertake holistic assessment of need both remotely (over the telephone and online) and when required in person across their region. You will be expected to work with individuals who may have complex and sometimes challenging welfare needs, assisting them by identifying appropriate support from within both the RAF Benevolent Fund and the wider statutory and military charity sector, ensuring that support is made available to meet their need through the case working process.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a social welfare role supporting individuals and will have strong people and relationship-building skills, as well as empathy with or understanding of issues affecting the Armed Forces community.

This is home based and the candidate must have their own vehicle for use of traveling around the region covered. Occasional travel to London will be required.

We adopt a trauma informed and psychologically informed approach to supporting our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures. We have a dedicated team of Support workers, Night workers and additional Bank workers who provide support, guidance, and signposting around areas such as housing, budgeting, living skills, jobs and relationship building.

What you will be doing

This is more than a night shift role - it’s an opportunity to make a real difference, working as part of a dedicated team committed to helping young people grow and develop.

Main areas of responsibilities are:

Safety and security

• Provide a friendly, professional presence and ensure the building remains safe, secure and welcoming at night.

Youth Advice Centre (YAC) offers information, support and guidance to young people (13-25) and their families in Brighton and Hove. The YAC team offer expertise on a wide range of topics including housing, wellbeing and family relationships. We provide a safe and friendly environment where everyone is made to feel welcome.

We are on the lookout for two Advice Workers to join the YAC team. Based in the heart of Brighton, you will provide information, advice and guidance to children and young people on a wide variety of issues affecting their wellbeing.

This role is part of the Youth Advice Centre’s funding through Young Futures Hubs, a pilot initiative rolled out nationally to provide targeted support for 11–19-year-olds.

You will be delivering high-quality YIACS support to children and young people in youth spaces (for example, youth clubs, groups and other community settings) and at the Youth Advice Centre.

The role includes outreach where young people feel most comfortable accessing support to deliver 1:1 and group sessions. Delivery will focus on areas in the north of the city, alongside locations in central Brighton.

Planning and Organising

· Develop and implement operational plans that translate Trustee priorities into clear workstreams, milestones and accountabilities

· Plan, organise and prioritise team workload and resources to deliver objectives, balancing immediate operational needs with longer-term planning

· Maintain and review the organisational risk register, escalating issues and ensuring proportionate mitigations are in place

· Maintain and review the Trust’s policies and guidance documents

Decision Making

· Make operational decisions to deliver the Trust’s agreed plans within delegated authority, escalating strategic or high-risk matters to the Chair/Trustees

· Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with Trustees, colleagues, volunteers and external stakeholders.

· Demonstrable experience working in or with a charity/not-for-profit, with a good understanding of governance, compliance and supporter-facing operations (experience in human health, animal health or science an advantage).

· Understanding of the UK charity regulatory environment and good governance practice.

Job Context and Special Features

This role is a key senior management position within Humanimal Trust, with responsibility for ensuring that strategy is translated into effective delivery, that the operational team is supported to perform at its best, and that the Trust operates with strong governance, compliance and financial control.

This is a one-year fixed term appointment for a 28-hour (3.5 day) working week, starting at the earliest opportunity.  The role is home-based in the UK, with occasional travel to other locations in the country.
