My client is a small London-based charity. They offer hybrid working with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
Your new role
The role is a Finance Assistant on an interim basis. The duration is expected to be 3-6 months.
Duties will include:

• Invoice processing and approval
• Matching purchase orders and verifying correct approvals before payment
• Processing multi-currency invoices through the accounting system
• Processing expenses for employees in line with company policies
• Request and facilitate changes to delegated authorities or line management within the expenses system as necessary
• Preparing and processing weekly payment batches via BACS
• Handling queries
• Acting as the first point of contact for all supplier and departmental queries regarding invoices, payments and expenses
• Ensuring invoice VAT is processed correctly and in line with regulatory requirements
• Reconciliation of vendor statements and the resolution of discrepancies
• Ensuring all transactions are recorded and posted in time for the month-end close.
• Processing payments via direct debit and posting to the accounting system through journal entries.

In order to succeed, you will need previous experience in a finance role, and experience of the duties above. If you were studying for a professional qualification, this would be an advantage. Knowledge of financial software would also be useful.

As Finance Business Partner, you will provide strategic financial insight and support to one of the organisation’s flagship research centres. The centre delivers thought leadership on the intersection of environment, society, and international affairs – working with governments, business and civil society to influence policy and accelerate sustainable change.

Embedded within the research centre but working closely with the wider finance team, you will take the lead on budgeting, forecasting and management reporting, ensuring resources are aligned with strategic priorities. About the role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Casework Administrator to join the Scottish Regional Office team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

You will be responsible for providing specialist administrative support and undertaking virtual telephone casework across the whole of Scotland, working remotely with SSAFA branch volunteers and Regional Office colleagues to ensure a consistent, timely, quality service is provided to SSAFA beneficiaries.

To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to the Scottish Regional Office. You will work closely with the Regional Casework Managers and the Regional Manager.

The post is home-based and lone working with support from your line manager and team colleagues and you must have a fast, stable broadband connection in your proposed workspace. You may have to travel occasionally around Scotland or elsewhere in the UK; expenses will be paid.

About the team

In this role you will be working closely with volunteers from seventeen SSAFA branches across Scotland, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The successful candidate will work as part of a larger team which includes 2 Casework Managers and a Regional Manager and a team of Regional Casework Co-ordinators.

About you

To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. The successful candidate will have experience of using their own initiative, planning and managing their workload with minimal supervision. You should be experienced at writing descriptive reports following a recommended structure. This role requires you to be a resilient person and it would be advantageous if you understand the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families. An understanding of the voluntary sector and preferably the military charity sector landscape across Scotland would be valuable, but not essential.

The Community Development team at KCLSU are looking for a Data & Systems Administrator to provide our data and systems service to our 3,600 Community Leaders, Volunteers and Representatives who run Student Group Activity and represent their student community

Key responsibilities include; 

• Managing and maintaining our databases and trackers.
• Administering and maintaining our systems procedures.
• Supporting services across Community Engagement with data and system administrative needs.

About the role 

Our passionate Regional Casework Coordinators are SSAFA’s front line of support for members of the armed forces community in need. They are the first point of contact for all beneficiaries into the Regional office, assessing needs and allocating the case to one of our volunteer caseworkers. 

You will sometimes handle complex problems from individuals who may be distressed, identifying the presenting and potential underlining needs to determine the best way to support the beneficiary. You will have ownership of cases from beginning to end, coordinating the casework process in a timely manner and ensure that the beneficiary journey is at the centre of the Service. You will have the opportunity to shape processes and procedures within the office which will lead to improvements in the service offered to clients.  

To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA. 

Whilst the post is homebased, to be eligible for this role you are required to live in the West Midlands region, which includes:

Birmingham, Sandwell, Walsall, Dudley, Wolverhampton, Solihull, Coventry, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire

There will be occasional travel around the West Midlands Region and you may be required to travel at short notice for face to face meetings.

About the team 

The team work remotely and pride themselves in maintaining a close working bond which ensures the smooth operation of the office. You will work closely with volunteers from the eight SSAFA branches in the West Midlands, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The wider support team includes a Casework Manager and a Regional Operations Support Manager. 

About you

You will have knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR and experience in dealing with sensitive information and people in vulnerable situations. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.

The Retired Ministers Housing Society (RMHS) exists to assist retired and retiring ministers to meet their housing needs during retirement, aiming to provide appropriate housing suitable for long-term occupation. We maintain around 300 properties tenanted by retired ministers, arranging inspections and repairs.

In this role you will be responsible for the daily support to the property team to deliver and maintain an effective programme of compliance checks across the Society, including gas, electrical, asbestos, fire safety and legionella.

You are educated to A level standard, or equivalent experience, have excellent administration and ITC skills and are highly organised. You also possess good communication skills and can problem solve, dealing with issues in a calm and sensitive manner.
