Working closely with the Finance Director (FD), the role involves advising on process improvements, preparing for the annual audit, and deputising for the FD when required. This position is ideal for someone progressing toward an advanced accountancy qualification, with previous experience in a similar role.

The role will act as second in command and will deputise for the CEO when absent. We currently have a full-time manager and officer in our Finance and Operations team (F&O Team), which the CFOO will be joining to oversee, develop and guide all relevant functions. In the short term this will include delivering some of the more complex areas of the F&O team’s work, such as the audit process, multi-year financial planning and legal compliance, with support from other team members and external advisers as appropriate. If we continue to succeed in delivering our growth strategy, the role will progress over the medium term with increasing team size/supervisory duties and reducing involvement in immediate implementation. As a key part of our new organisational strategy, there is a new structure in the Fundraising Directorate, designed to support significant income growth. An important part of the new leadership team would be an exceptional  Head of Corporate, Trusts and Philanthropy. About the role 

Casework and clinical evidence are at the heart of everything Medical Justice does. We assist vulnerable people mistreated in immigration detention and the evidence we produce forms the basis of our advocacy work to secure lasting change. 

As Head of Clinical Evidence & Casework, you will play a key role in strengthening and developing our ability to reach more people in detention. Leading a team of Caseworkers, employed and volunteer Clinicians and Interpreters, you will oversee the development of high-quality medical evidence, facilitate access to healthcare for people in detention, and collaborate closely with our Advocacy team and external organisations to challenge and end medical mistreatment in immigration detention.

This new role will support the Director with a wide range of administrative, financial, and operational duties. Salary: £31500 FTE per annum (pro rata £11,919) plus £40 per month home-working allowance.

Our membership forms a collaborative network; with a strengthened and unified voice that we project and advocate on behalf of to public governing bodies, ensuring vital industry representation and influencing positive change.

We provide expertise, training and development opportunities for the sector workforce in Wales and represent their views to the wider UK theatre industry, and Welsh and UK governments. Our membership brings together over 60 performing arts companies, theatres and individual practitioners who employ over 1,500 people, are supported by 1,200 volunteers, and serve the 1.2m people that attend theatre and performance in Wales, each year.
