The Operations and Development Manager is a senior leadership role at AALT, responsible for ensuring the organisation’s operational effectiveness, financial stability, and long-term sustainability.

They will join at a pivotal and exciting moment for the organisation, as AALT prepares to open the Anti-Apartheid Legacy Centre (AALC) at Penton Street and transition into a newly restored and developed building, establishing operations and embedding a resilient and ambitious model for the future.

Working in close collaboration with the Director, the postholder will have strategic oversight of finance, HR, governance, fundraising, and day-to-day operations, while also taking direct responsibility for delivering key operational, financial, and income-generating activity.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic oversight and active delivery. The postholder will lead on financial and operational management, co-develop and drive fundraising activity, and ensure that the organisation’s systems, processes, and resources are robust, effective, and fit for purpose.

The role will also take responsibility for venue management during the early stages of the AALC opening, before transitioning to line management of dedicated venue staff as the organisation grows.

We are looking for a hands-on leader who can bring significant income-generating expertise to a new challenge. You’ll sit lead our Outreach team, be a collaborative 'do-er' who leads inclusively, is passionate about our mission and wants to add value to our small team from day one. We want to work with someone who is excited by our growth journey and can be flexible and dynamic as we scale. We are launching our Senior Leadership Team this summer, which includes a Director of Income to take ownership of our income generation, drive forward our social value offer and lead our Outreach team effectively and kindly. 

Purpose of the Role

The Director of Income role is responsible for leading our income generation. Our fundraising strategy is to significantly grow and further diversify our income, with a particular focus on corporate and trading income. The postholder will coordinate our fundraising activity, lead our Outreach team and work closely with the CEO to drive forward our income generation so we can safely deliver our ambitious strategy over the next 5 years. 

In particular, the postholder will be responsible for coordinating and developing our income function, converting our strategic fundraising objectives into operational plans, managing the Head of Outreach and representing the organisation externally. However, the role is not solely governance and leadership - we need a do-er who is comfortable working in a small team and sharing responsibilities, including submitting fundraising proposals and taking responsibility for our reporting. They will work closely with the CEO, Director of Programmes, Head of Outreach and Communications and Fundraising Coordinator to ensure we are communicating our value proposition coherently and effectively to the important stakeholders that make our work possible.

We do not see this as a traditional fundraising director role - we are looking for a skilled generalist who can meet us where we are at by working confidently across Trusts and Foundations, statutory grants, corporate partnerships and traded services simultaneously. We are a small charity with 10 staff, so while we are looking for a decision-making and accountable leader, the postholder will be expected to support colleagues across the organisation. They will have a collaborateive spirit and the emotional intelligence to thrive in a small team. 

The postholder will lead the Outreach team (CEO, Head of Outreach, and Fundraising and Communications Coordinator), ensuring we work efficiently and together. They will also model our values, actively promote our commitment to refugee leadership, and bring stability and leadership at a crucial time for our organisation's development. About the Role

The Supervising Solicitor for Community Care – Legal Aid is a key role in shaping and strengthening Release’s legal services. Working closely with the Joint Head of Legal Services and Executive Director, and in collaboration with other colleagues, you will supervise the delivery of high-quality legal advice and representation, supporting the growth of legal aid practice whilst ensuring Release continues to train and develop social justice lawyers for the future. 

We are looking for an experienced legal aid practitioner who is strongly committed to social justice and the legal rights of marginalised communities, and who wants to build leadership experience in a movement-led organisation. The role will combine hands-on practice, leadership, supervision and compliance responsibilities. 

Please note: We do not expect the postholder to generate legal aid income at a multiple of their salary. While we do aim to grow legal aid income across the team to an initial target of £15,000–£25,000 per annum, the focus of this role is on developing high‑quality legal aid practice and building sustainable income collectively, as part of a mixed‑income organisational model.

For a large international organisation, we are recruiting a Group FP&A Manager to deliver group-level MI, planning and forecasting. This role will oversee and produce high-quality financial reporting, Flash results, monthly MI, quarterly business reviews (QBRs), long-term planning, and will review and validate insight-led analysis to support decision-making. The Group FP&A Manager will lead variance analysis, performance reviews and liaise with the Regions and Business Units to consolidate and interpret data, ensuring consistency across month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting. This role will also produce strategic planning and modelling for leaders, support the SSC and Centre of Excellence with financial modelling, dashboards and reports, and will support the roll-out of the Anaplan FP&A system.

The person

We are looking for a Care Navigator/Social Prescriber to work as part of the Ageing Well Service across Havering. You will be working as part of a Care Navigation team providing support to Havering residents with multiple long-term conditions, end of life diagnosis and vulnerable isolated older people to achieve the best possible quality of life and independence by enabling them to have maximum support at home, encourage taking up activities, volunteering or increasing social interaction, enabling choices and access to services in the community.

As Care Navigator/Social Prescriber you will work with professionals from health, social care and voluntary sector to increase the reach of the service and achieve best outcomes in reducing social isolation, improving wellbeing and resilience for older people.

You will also be responsible for maintaining client records and support monitoring and service evaluation in a timely and professional manner.

Successful applicants will have experience of working with older people or people with multiple long term conditions in health, social care, voluntary or independent sector, in a paid or voluntary capacity. About the role

It will involve leading and collaborating on additional projects that support the wider Corporate Partnerships team strategy and managing elements of partners finances with completing income forecasting, updating our supporter database and supporting the team.

You will be proactive and have excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage and win people over and convey complex ideas succinctly, confidently and persuasively. You will have experience in corporate fundraising, partnership management or account management and be able to strengthen relationships with existing partnerships to grow fundraising income. About you
