Job Purpose

The Area Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership for Treasures Foundation’s new ambulatory detox facility and first-stage supported housing service. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed support for women experiencing multiple disadvantage, including addiction, abuse, coercive control, poverty, mental health challenges, and involvement with the criminal justice system.

The postholder will lead teams, oversee service delivery, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive positive outcomes for women on their recovery journeys.

Key Responsibilities

Service Leadership & Delivery

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the ambulatory detox service and supported housing provision.

Refugee Action Kingston (RAK) is seeking an experienced and compassionate ESOL Coordinator to support our Community Hub Project. You will coordinate ESOL volunteers and resources, manage referrals and assessments to place users in classes, and administer registrations using RAK systems. Key Activity Areas  

Lead Generation  

• Be responsible for account management of caseload of mid-range Trusts & Foundations.

• Work collaboratively with the Engagement Manager, Engagement Support Officer and volunteers in the identification, approach and management of UK Trusts and Foundations.  

• Regularly research and review opportunities for building potential relationships with prospective Trusts and Foundations and progressing relationships and applications with them through compelling communications. 

• Work with existing networks and contacts to identify and approach potential trusts and foundations and develop relationships with key decision makers there 

• Identify and pursue opportunities to increase income from existing Trust and Foundation relationships 

Communications and Management  

• Work towards an agreed target each year of engaged trusts and related income, both restricted project and unrestricted funds.

• Write compelling cases for support and proposals in order to secure grants 

• Effectively work with internal contacts throughout the global Medair organisation in the preparation of approved proposals, reports and supporting financial and impact information 

• Manage Medair’s engagement plan, initiating and delivering creative touchpoints throughout the year for all of Medair’s trust and foundation partners, as well as building relationships with trustees and representatives through video, online meetings, events and face-2-face opportunities 

Planning, monitoring and pipeline management  

• Maintain a good record of the application pipeline and CRM (salesforce), monitoring application output, income targets, fund allocations and reporting deadlines.

• Ensuring all grants from trusts and foundations are correctly allocated to Medair programmes, with the appropriate grant card on Medair’s project management platform and maintaining good contact with country programmes and finance partners throughout the lifecycle of Medair UK co-funded projects.

Internal Liaison  

• Liaise with Medair’s Heads of Country Programmes, Country Directors and Communications Officers in order to gather information and data for the purposes of applying and reporting to funders 

• Work collaboratively with finance colleagues in the preparation and approval of budgets and reports.

• Foster dynamic and mutually beneficial relationships with other fundraisers within Medair international and the affiliate offices, readily sharing proposals, reports and information.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled line manager with experience in general welfare advice to join Sufra NW London. In this highly rewarding role, you will oversee the delivery of services that can measurably change lives by providing quality advice and support to those most in need. 

You will manage our team of advice staff and volunteers to deliver high quality advice, information and welfare support to guests on a range of topics including benefits, housing, debt and immigration issues. An additional focus will be on establishing clear pathways for referring guests to external services, and managing volunteers to triage, signpost and refer guests to other forms of welfare support.

The advice team consists of paid staff and support volunteers.  This year will be dedicated to consolidation of the service, ensuring that we are fulfilling our core mission to the highest standards.  We are also hoping to launch our immigration advice service, providing guests with a first point of contact for their immigration needs and smooth referral pathways to specialist advice.  Finally, our OpenARMs programme will be launching workshops for our refugee and asylum-seeker communities. 

You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, especially Head of Advice at Sufra to support the implementation of new initiatives, and the expansion of our information and advice services to enhance our efficiency and impact.

The post holder will be a highly articulate and proactive individual with good welfare advice knowledge, 3+ years delivery experience in managing a charity team, strong service management skills, as well as experience managing staff and volunteers. The ideal candidate will have up-to-date knowledge of the welfare system, immigration and safeguarding protocols. They must also have demonstrable experience using a case management system, adhering to advice standards and be able to manage a diverse workload and work under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

Advice Services

• Manage the advice service by overseeing and supporting volunteers and advice staff at our Community Wellbeing Service and Foodbank including setting objectives, managing performance and providing feedback during supervisions.

The role includes managing an annual statutory income budget of £1.5 million and leading relationships with government, lottery and public sector funders.

• Develop and deliver a statutory fundraising strategy to maximise income from public sector and lottery funders
• Lead the development of compelling funding bids with senior stakeholders across Sense
• Manage relationships with statutory funders, including reporting and stewardship
• Take responsibility for statutory income and expenditure budgets
• Oversee narrative and financial reporting, database management and compliance

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to lead the No Second Night Out (NSNO) Staging Post team in the role of Service Manager. The Staging Post is a 52-bed, 24/7 service supporting rough sleepers with complex needs to resolve their homelessness. In this role you will:

• Lead the Staging Post team in meeting service targets which aim to end clients’ homelessness as quickly as possible.
• Ensuring high quality service delivery in a 24/7 service that accommodates 52 people within the service until suitable move-on accommodation is secured.
• Provide line management of up to eight staff including four managers (two Deputy Managers and two Case Coordinators) and lead a team of 23 staff.
• Collaborative working with external and internal partners to improve service delivery.

You will bring strong experience in developing and executing multi-channel PR campaigns, building media relationships, and delivering compelling storytelling that demonstrates real impact. Confident operating at both a strategic and operational level, you will work collaboratively across teams to align PR activity with fundraising, welfare, and organisational priorities, while managing reactive media, reputation, and crisis communications with sound judgement. With experience of reporting on performance and leading others, you will play a key role in strengthening our brand, driving engagement, and ensuring consistent, high-quality communications across all channels.

We are looking for a motivated, thoughtful team-player to join our department on a maternity contract.

At Prostate Cancer Research, we don’t just fund research. We help shape it. From launching cross-disease collaborative grant calls to developing first-of-their-kind initiatives that address gaps in the system, we work closely with researchers to drive meaningful progress.

This role offers the opportunity to combine scientific expertise with creativity and strategic thinking. As our research portfolio grows, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the department, while helping to shape its future direction.

Our remit includes delivering our own independent research projects and piloting community-led initiatives, alongside managing approximately £2 million in annual grant funding. You will also help strengthen links between discovery and translational research, support the development of new EDI initiatives, and build connections between academic research and our Prostate Progress data platform.

Responsibility

· Coordinate review of potential new awards, working with peer reviewers, patients, and committee members.

· Contract and onboard new research awards, ensuring all documentation, monitoring, and compliance requirements are met.

· Administer ongoing research grants (particularly Seed Grants and Racial Disparities Grants), including monitoring and evaluating scientific progress, supporting scientists to achieve results, maintaining financial records, with authority to approve minor changes to grant budgets and timelines.

· Collect and summarise project outcomes and learnings to feed into internal and external communications.

· Help design and deliver researcher engagement activities such as webinars, lab visits, and networking events.

· Maintain positive, empathetic relationships with patients, supporting their involvement in research and engagement activities where appropriate.

· Support on departmental logistics, e.g. organising team away days and meetings.

· Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture, supporting colleagues across departments and sharing expertise where needed.

Skills and Competencies

Our ideal candidate would have the following:

· A higher degree (MSc, MRes, PhD) in a relevant biomedical science discipline.

· A knowledge of research grants and funding processes

· An understanding of academic research environments in the UK

· Strong problem-solving, time management, and project management skills

· Proactive, adaptable, and professional approach to work

· Strong belief in our work at Prostate Cancer Research

· A high degree of autonomy with a will to learn, reflect and self-teach
