Role description

As we begin to grow, we’re looking for a highly experienced Head of Finance & Compliance to ensure best-in-class financial governance, statutory obligations, and operational compliance.

This is a senior, hands-on role ideal for someone who has worked in a similar capacity within the charity or social enterprise sector. You’ll take ownership of our financial reporting, charity and company filings, risk management processes, and ensure we’re meeting all regulatory requirements — so our team can focus on delivery with confidence.

Key responsibilities

Finance

• Oversee day-to-day financial processes, working closely with external accountants.

• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes alongside the CEO.

• Monitor cash flow, manage financial risk, and prepare internal finance reports for the Board.

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of annual accounts and external audit process.

• Support fundraising by preparing financial inputs for grant proposals and reports.

Governance & Compliance

• Act as Company Secretary: manage Board meetings, minutes, filings, and statutory record-keeping.

• Ensure full compliance with Companies House, Charity Commission, HMRC, and other statutory bodies.

• Maintain and update key internal policies (e.g. safeguarding, data protection, finance policy).

• Support risk register maintenance and ensure appropriate insurance coverage.

• Work closely with the CEO on contract management and legal compliance.

What we're looking for

• Significant experience in a senior finance, governance, or company secretarial role in the charity or non-profit sector.

• Strong working knowledge of UK charity finance and regulatory obligations. The organisation will be making grants from an early stage, so experience with grant-giving will be highly valuable.

• Excellent attention to detail, reliability, and professional integrity.

• Confident managing external advisers and auditors.

• Comfort with ambiguity and excitement at the prospect of an entrepreneurial, mission-driven organisation

• Passion for improving numeracy, providing opportunity, and social impact.

• Relevant qualifications (e.g. ICSA, ACCA, ACA, or CIPFA) are desirable but not essential if equivalent experience is demonstrated.

The services offer brief evidence-based individual and group interventions to address moderate wellbeing needs largely using CBT-based treatment, trauma informed and Mentalization approaches. Work is also conducted jointly with existing professionals where young people present with more complex needs to strengthen the skills and competencies in the multi-agency network. The work takes place on an outreach basis in schools, family homes and other community venues as well as being conducted virtually. 

The Wellbeing Practitioner role will be suited to those individuals with skills and experience of working directly in schools/community and who are passionate about delivering high quality evidence-based intervention on a time-limited basis.

What you’ll do 
As a Wellbeing Practitioner you will work in partnership with schools, children and families to assess and respond to the psychological needs of children experiencing social, emotional, mental health or behavioural difficulties through undertaking assessments and providing interventions. The post-holders will also: contribute to workshops, support to school staff in the identification of mental health needs of children and accessing appropriate resources; and actively contribute to outcome monitoring and service improvement. You will build relationships with peer/senior members of staff, service users, partners, other services, schools, commissioners, as well as other external agencies with families being the main point of contact. You will also deliver consultation, training, and workshop to non-mental health staff, such as teachers and social workers with other clinicians in the service.

What you’ll bring 
You will have a qualification in psychology or other discipline related to mental health to deliver evidence-based interventions for children and young people.

Essential skills and experience:

• Experience of working therapeutically, implementing interventions and using routine outcome measures in therapy with children and you people in community or school settings including Looked After Children and young people;
• Experience of working cross-culturally as well as thinking about cultural issues in relation to clinical practice;
• Experience of maintaining appropriate records and have good awareness of confidentiality and current childcare and safeguarding legislation, policy and practice;
• Ability to form good working relationships in a multi-disciplinary setting and work independently where necessary;
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively about complex issues both verbally and in writing with different stakeholders;
• Ability to manage own workload and prioritise conflicting deadlines;
• Commitment to engage with and use clinical supervision and line management supervision.

JOB PURPOSE 

Reporting to the Director of People, the Head of People Services is responsible for leading the delivery of a quality and customer focused core people service to MSF UK. The post holder leads on all operational aspects of the People department (with the exception of employee relations), including all recruitment, core people and payroll processes, administration, systems, data and reporting. 

Key duties areas follows: 

• Lead, motivate and develop the People Services team towards our goal of providing a seamless and customer focused people service.

THE ROLE

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

You will have demonstrable experience of developing and/or managing projects in the fields of energy efficiency, community development and regeneration, housing, social policy or consumer issues.

It is important that you have an awareness of the environmental, social and economic problems of deprived areas and the roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in tackling them. 

You will need good organisational skills, as well as excellent written and communication skills, as you will maintain appropriate records and data, and produce regular written reports on project progress. 

You will be an excellent communicator, with experience and understanding of how to effectively address the energy needs of low income, vulnerable or disadvantaged householders - with the desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives.

About the role

The Project Officer role oversees the site's landscape maintenance contract to ensure the park remains attractive, safe, and well-managed. About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Project Officer with good administrative skills. You will be able to foster a strong working relationship with the Southern Park landscape maintenance contractors. Based at the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, TCV is looking for an enthusiastic, confident & competent Senior Project Officer. We need someone who can lead this brand new & exciting project by recruiting volunteers, engaging local people & making positive, impactful gains for wildlife.

The role may involve working across a variety of green spaces, from orchards to ponds & wetlands to roof gardens & community growing spaces. You'll plan & lead at least two (sometimes more) volunteering sessions a week to deliver practical nature conservation work. This includes delivery of a health & wellbeing focused session, TCV's Green Gym & a weekly Biodiversity Action Team activity.

Additionally, you'll plan & deliver nature themed community engagement events, which may include activities like leading citizen science sessions, nature themed arts & crafts or nature walks.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a brand-new project, in a world-famous location. The post holder will have the close support of the team & other experienced local TCV staff, however we're looking for someone who's experienced enough to hit the ground running & deliver outstanding outcomes for both people & nature.

The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) are one of the main partners for the London Borough of Waltham Forest, delivering activities which connect people and greenspace. The successful applicant will work with the London Borough of Waltham Forest representatives, Friends of Parks groups and local people, with the aims of improving nature conservation, health and wellbeing, through social engagement, gentle exercise and connectivity with the outdoors.

TCV are seeking an enthusiastic, confident and experienced person to join our London Health & Education team for this important post. The Project Officer will lead the delivery of three key areas of work in the borough:

1. TCV's Green Gyms - Lead the delivery of weekly nature conservation volunteering sessions for people (with a wide range of abilities), through the TCV Green Gyms at Leyton Jubilee Park (Thursdays) & Lloyd Park (Fridays). The post holder will actively seek new volunteers to attend the TCV Green Gyms, through continual engagement with local social prescribing partners, social media promotion & local advertising of activities. They will also continually recruit and train volunteers to ensure they have the maximum opportunity to develop their skills and experience.
2. Friends of Park support - Support the capacity building & training of the Friends of Parks groups across the borough, which may include anything from organising an external first aid trainer to deliver an event, to you organising & leading a workshop on how to create & manage a wildflower meadow or working to support them on a practical activity. You'll keep the local Friends of Parks group webpages up to date with advertising forthcoming events & updating member's contact details & producing newsletters.
3. Wider events & activities - The post holder will be expected to lead and/or support the delivery of wider activities as required, such as regular family events at Abbott's Park & large family events Love Parks week (currently 8 events during summer months). The Project Officer would also lead corporate volunteering days, likely to take place at the Meridian One Community Garden & Tree Nursery in Enfield.

The post holder will mainly deliver core activities independently, although they'll work closely with the existing colleagues in Waltham Forest, to ensure local people receive the best possible experience. They'll be occasions when there's a need to work extra hours, including evenings & weekends, such as during Love Parks week, which takes place each July & during family events at the community garden (approximately 6 weekend days a year).

The post is full-time for 35 hours per week. The Project Officer will be based in TCV's community garden in Upper Edmonton, Enfield. The community garden has an office from which the post holder will be expected to be based 3 days a week, in order to administer this project. There will be regular travel across Waltham Forest & occasional travel across London, for training & meetings. A full driving licence is desirable but not essential.

The British Museum is embarking on one of the most significant cultural redevelopment projects undertaken anywhere in the world. The Philanthropy Team, as a key function of Development, will play a vital role in enabling the Museum's vision for the future. The Philanthropy Officer: Grants role will be responsible for managing relationships with and securing income from primarily trusts and foundations in support of the Museum's agreed priorities.

Key areas of responsibility:

• To raise funds for Museum priorities in line with agreed annual income targets, managing your own prospect pipeline, with mentoring and support from the Philanthropy Manager.
• To adhere to a calendar of both new applications and reporting requirements for secured funding.
• To manage or contribute to production of both interim and final reports for funders, establishing a system with project managers internally to ensure that the data required is captured throughout and submitted in time for deadlines, and to ensure the highest standards of reporting are adhered to.
• To work with the Advancement Operations Team to ensure records on the Museum's database are accurate and up to date.
• To contribute to Museum events and their use as an effective cultivation tool.

About you:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a trust fundraising role
• Knowledge of trust and statutory fundraising requirements and practice
• IT literate with good working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office packages and experience using fundraising databases
• Strong writing skills with the ability to create and articulate a convincing fundraising case.
• A team player with strong organisational skills
• Experience in an arts, culture or heritage organization is desirable
