Key Responsibility: To provide administrative support across the Communities and Inclusion team.

We are seeking a Communities and Inclusion Assistant to support the Communities and Inclusion team at BES. The team works across a range of areas, including grants, membership, volunteering and education to engage with ecology in meaningful ways.

This is a new role within BES and a fantastic opportunity to engage with the world’s oldest ecological society. You will gain experience across multiple areas of the organisation’s work while playing a key administrative support role.

Responsibilities:

Community Groups

We support over 25 active community groups. The role will include:

• Administering the Community Groups inbox and acting as the first point of contact for general enquiries from current and prospective community groups.
• Supporting the BES Community Groups team in their work, including attending monthly meetings and providing meeting notes.
• Assisting community groups with recruitment to their committees.

Grants

We award over £500,000 in grant funding every year. The role will include

• Administering the Grants inbox.
• Supporting the administration of our grant portfolio, including collating of reviewer scores and EDI data monitoring via the grants database.
• Managing the in-house training and travel grant awarding process.
• Attend Grants committee meetings, taking minutes as required.

Membership

We have over 8000 members. The role will include

• Administering the Membership inbox and responding to members enquiries
• Updating and maintaining daily CRM tasks related to joining, renewals, cancellation requests and payment processes to ensure accurate membership data.
• Updating and maintaining accurate Membership KPI tracking.
• Attending Membership committee, taking minutes as required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for running these sessions weekly, managing session staff, delivering engaging activities, attending occasional day trips, as well as responding to and reporting any safeguarding concerns. 

Key responsibilities will include: 

1. To lead the delivery of youth sessions at Knights Youth Centre (KYC) and facilitate youth provision in line with the ethos, values and vision of Oasis.

We are seeking an experienced and values-driven Therapeutic Manager to lead the operational and clinical delivery of WGN’s Clinical Services. This role provides both strategic and day-to-day leadership, ensuring the delivery of innovative, survivor-centred, trauma-informed and culturally responsive therapeutic support for Black and Minoritised women in London who have experienced violence against women and girls (VAWG).

As a key member of the Senior Clinical Team, you will oversee referrals, assessments, allocations and safeguarding processes, while fostering a reflective, collaborative and high-performing team culture. You will provide clinical guidance and line management to therapists, High Intensity Therapists (HITs), and administrative staff, embedding best practice within WGN’s Black feminist, intersectional and Holistic Empowerment Recovery (HER) framework.

We are seeking a part-time Governance Manager to manage Board and Committee meetings, the recruitment and induction of new Trustees, and to provide governance support and guidance to the Chair, Trustees, Director and senior staff. Working with our legal advisor and other senior staff, the role will ensure Art Fund upholds good governance practices and provides all support necessary to Trustees to enable them to discharge their legal responsibilities.

Our charter and bye-laws were amended in 2024 following a detailed review, and Board and Committee terms of reference updated in 2025. In the coming year we need to review our current governance policies and practice against the updated Charity Governance Code, identifying any gaps, and implementing any agreed actions to strengthen governance in line the updated Code. This role will also play a key supporting role in the development of Art Fund’s new strategy for 2027-2031, including co-ordinating Board input, synthesising feedback, and ensuring strategic discussions are well-evidenced and clearly documented.

This role would suit a dedicated charity professional with experience of governance and working with Boards of Trustees, ideally gained in at least two other settings, who is looking to make a real difference to governance policy and practice within an organisation.

The Compassionate Neighbours Manager will lead the day-to-day running of the Compassionate Neighbours programme across Greenwich and Bexley, helping people nearing the end of life to live as well as they can for as long as they can through meaningful community connection. As the Volunteering Development Manager, you will help our teams build a welcoming, diverse, and active volunteer community for the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust. You will guide and support delivery teams so they can work confidently and consistently with volunteers. Your role includes giving practical advice, creating clear processes, and helping teams provide an inclusive volunteer experience.

You will put our volunteering strategy into action and help more people get involved in our projects. A key part of this role is building strong relationships with community groups, youth organisations, and other local partners.
