About This Job

As Fundraising Assistant at sister charities, ACCT UK and CCFA, you will play a key role in the growth of existing fundraising and in the creation of new income streams. Stewarding fundraisers, helping to develop new and existing fundraising campaigns, building relationships internally within the cadet organisations and externally with Trusts and Foundations, corporates and major givers. You will provide administrative and operational support, including maintaining the fundraising database. Working closely with the rest of the Development team and in particular the Marketing department to ensure that both charities can provide increasing financial support to cadets and adult volunteers across the UK.

ACCT UK is a national youth charity dedicated to improving the life chances of young people. The Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA) is a charity dedicated to the promotion of the ideals and activities of the Combined Cadet Force in schools. Together we want to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence and be inspired through their cadet experience.

You will be joining the newly formed Opportunities Team which has been designed to be holistically focussed on the growth of giver engagement, Partner engagement and thought leadership. Stewardship is often a surprise to new and potential clients and partners as they learn the breadth and depth of the services we can offer them, their families, their churches and the ministries they love. The Opportunities Team seeks to serve whoever we meet and triage their needs to the right expert in the Stewardship family. 

In this role you will work as part of our Opportunities Team to invite people into the community of generous Christian givers in the UK and serve UK Churches with support services and giving needs. You will attend events, speak on behalf of Stewardship and deliver content with excellence. You will have the opportunity to support the growth of Stewardship over the coming years as we identify new clients to join the ecosystem that enables Kingdom ministry to happen all over the UK and around the world.

About the opportunity

As Head of Legal, Risk and Assurance, you'll lead three critical disciplines that form the backbone of trust, safety, and risk-informed decision-making at Alzheimer's Society. This is a people-focused leadership role within our Finance & Assurance directorate, overseeing professional teams delivering legal, risk management, and assurance services. You'll bring these areas together as one team, joining the dots to create real impact through compassionate, strategic leadership.

We're in the midst of an ambitious transformation programme, and you'll play a central role in ensuring this change is embedded effectively. Working in close partnership with management and trustees, you'll be a senior, credible, and visible voice. About you:

You're an accomplished leader with proven experience in legal, risk, or assurance. You'll bring both technical credibility and a track record of effective stakeholder management and people leadership. You understand that when risk, legal, and audit is done best, it's done in collaboration. Keeping the end goal in mind, and enabling the best possible decisions that protect what matters most.

You'll have:

- Professional qualification in at least one discipline (qualified lawyer, risk professional, and/or chartered internal auditor) with demonstrable knowledge across legal, risk, and assurance areas.
- Significant line management experience, with a track record of leading, coaching, and developing teams through periods of change and growth.
- Proven ability to work in partnership with senior stakeholders, including trustees and executive leadership, providing clear, valuable, and risk-based guidance.
- Experience overseeing professional services that are visible, valued, and proactively consulted across an organisation.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, able to challenge constructively while building strong relationships, and translate complex technical matters into clear guidance for diverse audiences.
- A collaborative mindset and evidenced ability to drive continuous improvement, bringing best practice from across sectors to elevate standards and maturity.

- Driving forward our transformation programme, ensuring governance frameworks support rather than hinder change, and that legal, risk, and assurance considerations are embedded from the outset.
- Elevating the profile and maturity of all three disciplines. Making them visible partners across directorates and ensuring they're proactively consulted on key initiatives rather than brought in as an afterthought.
- Overseeing the facilitation of robust risk management systems, leading comprehensive assurance programmes, and ensuring legal services are professional, credible, and responsive to organisational needs.
- Managing departmental budgets, resource allocation, and capacity planning to ensure your teams can deliver first-class services that enable the Society's strategic objectives.
- Building and maintaining impactful external networks, using horizon scanning and sector best practice to keep the Society ahead of emerging risks and regulatory changes.
- Deputising for the Associate Director Risk and Assurance as required, representing Finance & Assurance at senior forums.

About the Role

The Cook & Domestic Assistant will be responsible for a range of domestic duties within the home in order to maintain the house to a high standard of cleanliness, and providing healthy, varied and well-presented meals which is representative of the service user group. To provide training in basic cooking skills to our children, providing them with opportunities to help out in the kitchen when appropriate. Encouraging them to build up their confidence and experience in basic cooking skills

Main aspects of the Role will be:

• Timely preparation of meals, including preparing an after school snack and evening meal for all residents in the home.
• To make adequate use of leftovers and basic foods, while also providing food for special dietary needs as well as providing meals which reflect different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Ensuring a nutritional balanced diet is provided.
• To help and encourage children to participate and learn about healthy eating and the presentation and preparation of meals.
• To complete opening and closing checks in the kitchen and keep the Food Safety Management book up to date on a daily basis.
• To clean designated areas of the home using appropriate equipment and products to ensure they are clean and hygienic.
• To report any defects or breakages to the Home Manager or other designated staff, and contact relevant contractors as directed by the Home Manager.
• To ensure the COSSH file is fully updates and copies of data on all cleaning products used in the home are on file.
• Budget Control and Stocktaking.

About the role

The Trusts and Foundations Advisor works strategically within the Partnerships and Business Development team to maximise impact and income by building high value partnerships and securing five, six and seven figure grants.

You will be responsible for building new relationships with prospect donors as well as providing exceptional stewardship of existing donors, and will collaborate closely with other teams in the wider division to create excellent proposals. 

You will be expected to develop a strong pipeline of highly engaged Trusts and Foundation Funders committing to multi-year pledges to maximise income and impact, and build relationships based on trust and openness using the support of senior staff and Multi-Country Cluster based colleagues.

You will work collaboratively within the team and beyond, sharing expertise and ideas to create strong cultivation plans and proposals, and you will be expected to think critically about existing processes, aiming to create, adapt and deliver innovative ideas, initiatives and networks to secure impactful and meaningful support for Christian Aid’s programmes.

You will develop relationships with potential donors and partners and represent Christian Aid at appropriate networking events such as conferences and external meetings.

About you

We are looking for a confident fundraiser with significant experience of securing five and six figure gifts from Trusts and Foundations. You will demonstrate a clear understanding understanding of the Trusts and Foundations landscape and market trends, and will be able to employ a wide range of Trusts and Foundations fundraising approaches and strategies.

As a fundraiser, you will have significant experience of responding to the requirements and demands of funders, and demonstrable experience of producing in-depth, motivating and inspiring proposals and funding reports.

You will be able to demonstrate highly developed negotiation and influencing skills, and demonstrable experience of successful networking with internal and external senior stakeholders. 

You will be able to demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills across your work.

Our client was founded in 2018 by the families and friends of people who had taken their own lives as a direct result of gambling. The charity supports people bereaved by gambling-related suicide, raises awareness of the devastating consequences of gambling disorder, and works to prevent gambling-related suicide. They are now recruiting for a Specialist Family Support Manager, a pivotal position for the organisation that will deliver evidence-based therapeutic support for bereaved families. This is a permanent, full-time role that will be based remotely (although travel will often be required due to service needs). Please note, you must hold a clinical qualification in a relevant therapeutic discipline to be considered.

As Specialist Family Support Manager, you will work as part of a dedicated, tight-knit team, delivering tailored, therapeutic interventions to families bereaved by gambling-related suicide. You will build consistent, compassionate relationships with families, supporting them to navigate investigations, inquests or research processes linked to gambling harms, ensuring they feel informed, represented and supported. You will ensure that all clinical practice adheres to safeguarding, risk management and professional standards, maintaining accurate and confidential records. You will also work across the wider organisation, providing clinical input into the design of training modules (including training for NHS clinicians and social care professionals) to raise awareness of gambling-related suicide.

To apply for this incredibly impactful position, you must have a clinical qualification in a relevant therapeutic discipline as well as post-qualification experience. You will have demonstrable experience of delivering therapeutic interventions with individuals and families affected by bereavement, addiction or mental health issues. You will have experience of assessing needs, developing support plans and managing risk/safeguarding effectively, and will be comfortable working autonomously within a small team/organisation. Experience of designing/delivering training for professionals is desirable.

The Latin American Women’s Rights Service (LAWRS) is a human rights, feminist organisation led by and for Latin American migrant women in the UK. Our work is dedicated to supporting the immediate and long-term needs of Latin American migrant women exposed to violations of their fundamental human rights; facing violence against women and girls, exploitation or trafficking; enduring difficult living and working conditions in low paid jobs and facing barriers to social protection. We strive to provide essential tools for women to empower themselves in their pursuit of personal and social change.

The post holder will join our Counselling and Psychotherapy team, providing emotional support sessions, clinical assessments and one-to-one short term therapy to Latin American women; delivering group work activities and psychoeducational workshops; and dealing with internal and external referrals, working closely with other teams at LAWRS and external agencies.

What the job involves

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men and it’s harming too many lives. At Prostate Cancer UK, one of our top priorities is funding research that leads to real change. It’s vital we do our best to make sure this research makes a meaningful difference to men’s lives, and that’s where you come in.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Senior Research Officer to help us deliver our funding schemes and patient and public involvement work.  This role sits in the Research Funding Team and will provide us with additional support during an exciting time while we implement a new grants management system. You’ll work across all our grant funding schemes, ensuring we are following best practise in research funding.

You’ll take responsibility for a small portfolio of active research grants, providing support and guidance to the researchers leading them. You’ll be a main point of contact for grant applicants, supporting them as they apply to us and will be responsible for running peer review. Using your understanding of research funding and administration, you’ll help make sure our funding schemes run smoothly and to time. You’ll work with colleagues to support patient and public involvement in research both in our review process and through our Patient Representative Network who help researchers make sure their work is focussed on the needs of men with prostate cancer.

This role is a fixed term to cover an internal secondment for 12 months.

What we want from you

We’re looking for a Senior Research Officer who is passionate about research and has a desire to develop knowledge of prostate cancer. You’ll hold a biomedical degree (or a degree in a related subject), or with equivalent experience gained in research funding, administration or the wider research sector.

You’ll already have a good grasp of how grant funding works and, ideally, some experience of research administration and peer review. Confidence in interpreting complex scientific information is important, as you’ll be using this knowledge to find the right people to peer review the grant applications that are submitted to our schemes.

You're also an accurate record keeper with a keen eye for detail and excellent time management skills. You're assured and clear in your communication, both written and verbal, and you're able to respond to a wide range of inquiries from researchers while always adhering to data protection and confidentiality best practices.  Experience of using Symplectic’s Grant Tracker would be an advantage but is not essential.
