Ideal candidate
- This role calls for someone with experience of working in partnership with children and young people, to deliver services and activities that are meaningful to them - a JNC- recognised qualification in youth work would be an advantage. You will have a keen understanding of how diabetes can affect young people’s lives, and a desire to see lasting change for the better. You will be highly organised and driven to see plans through to completion, as well as to evidence impact through monitoring and evaluation.
- This role will require you to be able to travel regularly and widely across the whole of the South West & South Central Region – a full driving licence would be desirable. You must be prepared to work evenings and weekends, with some overnight stays. You will be expected to work from our Taunton office at least once a week.

We’re looking for a Head of Major Donors, a new role to lead our Major Donors team to grow our fundraising and support the delivery of our ambitious People & Nature thriving strategic goals.
We have a stable portfolio of individual Major Donors and Trusts & Foundations. We also know significant income growth is possible from our core and new audiences.
You’ll build and implement an ambitious plan for growing income from major donors and charitable trusts, with capacity to give between £25k-£1m and lead a newly established major donor team of around 5 relationship managers.

Do you have skill and experience with working with people affected by dementia to engage them in group situations?
Join us as a Group Facilitator to provide a range of vibrant, supportive groups to our service users in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. You will be an instrumental part of facilitating and coordinating our Memory Cafes, Activity Groups and Singing for the Brain and other ad-hoc events. We have several, well established groups, but also there would be a great opportunity for the successful individual to develop and promote the less established to reach a wider number of people.
The successful candidate will be joining a supportive and experienced team of Group Facilitators and dedicated volunteers. As a Group Facilitator you will be connected to the expert local teams of Dementia Advisers and Dementia Navigators.

About you
- Compassionate, supportive individual with a good understanding of dementia and how it impacts both the person with the diagnosis and the carer.
- An excellent communicator with the ability to engage people in group activities, ensuring the person with dementia can fully participate as well as the carer.
- Organised and proactive in your approach to be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and reaching out when required.
- Understands the importance of volunteers in group services is essential, plus the ability to role manage volunteers to support them in their role.
- Good computer skills are required to facilitate virtual groups, and to complete accurate records on the computer system.
What you’ll need:
- Good organisational, facilitation, and timekeeping skills to deliver high quality, supportive groups for people affected by dementia
- Strong interpersonal and interpretation skills will allow you to have open jargon-free conversations.
- Experience of co-ordinating and role managing volunteers, working with them to deliver each group
- Good IT skills including MS Word, MS Outlook, Zoom and Teams
- Ability to update client or customer databases with detailed and accurate notes

Reporting to the Finance Manager, they will oversee the accounts’ receivable function, from invoice generation to allocating monies received and credit control. The ideal candidate will have experience of managing a sales ledger and undertaking bank reconciliations. They will have worked within a complex multi-company and/or charitable organisation. This is a key role in the Bereavement Support Services team. The team provides a wide range of services, including the Helpline, Online Community, memory making, and print materials. The aim of this post is to provide consistent, high-quality emotional support to bereaved families who seek support from Sands. The primary focus of this role is to work on the Sands Helpline as support officers, listening to callers and responding to emails. The helpline offers telephone and email support and is currently open from 10am-3pm from Monday to Friday; 6pm – 9pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; and has occasional extended opening for specific reasons. Bereavement Support Services Officers (BSSO) will be expected to cover all regular opening hours on a rota basis. Flexibility to accommodate other external commitments will be considered. If colleagues start work when the Helpline is already open, they will be expected to use the first hours of their shift to settle in and organize their work before starting calls and email responses. The service provides support across the whole geography of Avon & Somerset. This role involves making initial contact with victims of crime and Anti-Social Behaviour and providing initial support in a dynamic and ever-changing environment. The role is full-time and based at out office in Bristol office.

About the Role:
You will provide high quality support to all victims and witnesses of crime and Anti-Social Behaviour, leading on completing initial impact and risk assessments that are comprehensive and holistic. You will also provide cover for the local VS Helpline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for service users referred in to the service, completing comprehensive impact and risks assessments using agreed processes and a tailoring the response to each individual's needs.
- Manage a caseload of service users who require more immediate and short term interventions, referring on those with more long term needs either internally or externally.
- Develop support plans where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring information for the service and provide accurate and timely performance information for internal and external use.
- Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns including both child protection and vulnerable adult issues.
- Ensure that everyone is aware of their rights under the Victim's Code of Practice and the Witness Charter..
- Comply and keep up to date with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures, including data protection legislation, confidentiality.
- Work as part of a team to ensure that all outcomes and Key Performance Measures are met relevant to the local contract.
Ideally you will have:
- Experience of delivering a service and working directly with service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting
- Experience of working in an outcomes focused service
- Knowledge of the criminal justice system and the impact of crime
- Knowledge and understanding of Domestic Abuse processes and services
- Experience of engaging with vulnerable victims of crime who may have complex needs
You will need:
- Strong written & verbal communication skills.
- Good time management skills.
- Competent IT skills, able to use generic systems.
- To work effectively both as part of a team & independently
- To develop & maintain partnerships with external organisations.
- The ability to undertake impact & risk assessments.
- Knowledge of safeguarding issues & legislation related to child protection & vulnerable adults.

We are a growing, award winning, national charity delivering garden-based support to improve the mental health of people with spinal injuries across the UK.
You will be joining the charity in an incredibly exciting year, as we launch our new 5 year strategy and head into a Capital Appeal for our tenth garden in Wakefield.
Our newly created role of Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships will play a critical part in this next chapter, leading the development of our existing high value fundraising portfolio to support our growth ambitions. This is both a strategic and hands-on role, operating in a small team environment and requiring the postholder to work with the Director of Income Generation and CEO to shape strategy, build relationships, and deliver income directly.
The role will work across major donors, trusts & foundations and corporate partnerships, supporting a talented team of four fundraisers: Senior Philanthropy Manager (Trusts & MD), Senior Regional Partnerships Manager, Trust & Foundations Fundraiser and Trusts & Foundations Assistant.
The charity has a history of building successful high value relationships, and we are looking for someone with the experience and ambition to help us build on this solid foundation to deliver our 5-year strategy and complete our core capital appeal programme.
You will need to have significant fundraising experience gained in a charitable environment across major donors, trusts and foundations and corporate partnerships. You will work with the team to develop compelling case for supports, identify and cultivate prospects and build partnerships to secure high value gifts.
