Working closely with your co‑head, you will provide shared leadership to a dynamic social justice team, supporting excellent casework, nurturing staff development, and building strong, values‑led partnerships. Please Note: We do not expect the appointee to generate legal aid income at a multiple of their salary (although we do want to build this area of income initially to at least £25,000 to £30,000 per annum across the team). The role is focused on developing legal aid practice and income across the team, as part of a mixed-income organisational model.

As Joint Head of Legal Services, you will:
•Support Strategic Development: Contribute to developing the direction and priorities of Release’s legal services, including expanding legal aid work and strengthening access to justice.
•Provide Practice Leadership: Support a multidisciplinary team of solicitors, legal advisers and volunteers to deliver excellent, trauma-informed legal support.
•Ensure Quality and Compliance: Help ensure consistent regulatory compliance and quality assurance across legal casework, including legal aid requirements.
•Strengthen and Grow Services: Help develop and improve legal service delivery models, including responding to emerging needs and client priorities.
•Contribute to Systemic Change: Support Release’s wider mission by helping connect legal services with policy, research, and advocacy work.

This role is ideal for someone with strong legal aid expertise and management potential, who wants to take a meaningful step into senior leadership whilst continuing to centre client care, justice and harm reduction.

Person Specification

Essential
•Minimum 6 years + post qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate, and
•Minimum 4 years + substantial experience in legal aid casework, supervision and/or compliance, and
•Minimum 2 years + experience of supervising others and/or management experience and
•Substantial experience in public law, housing law, and/or community care law within legal aid practice, and
•Strong commitment to social justice, harm reduction, and trauma-informed practice.

Desirable

Experience working in a charity or non‑profit organisation.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full‑time Senior Events Officer to join the Fundraising team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. This role plays a key part in delivering SSAFA’s ambitious events programme, leading on our portfolio of Running Challenge Events while supporting the wider Events team to drive income and raise the charity’s profile.

You will identify and develop high‑value running opportunities, manage flagship events such as the London Marathon, Great North Run and Race to the Stones, and ensure every participant enjoys an exceptional and motivating supporter journey. The SSAFA Events team is a small team with a high output both financially and in terms of number of events produced. We work closely together and thrive to deliver high quality, successful events.

About you

To carry out this role successfully you will have an understanding of the charity sector and ideally a background of working in charity events. You will be driven, conscientious and have high attention to detail. In addition, you will demonstrate the ability to develop positive relationships with our supporters in order to manage and grow existing events and relationships. As this role supports major events throughout the year, you should also be able to work evenings and weekends when required, and travel across the UK and abroad to support event delivery.

The Grants, Trusts & Foundations Manager will work closely with and report to the Head of Philanthropy to develop the Trust pipeline, along with instrumental cross-team work on applications and reporting processes for other income streams. Whilst we work towards developing a more diverse funding model and navigate changes to the external Trust environment, sustaining and growing income from Trusts will remain vital.

The Senior Legal Officer plays a key role in supporting ILPA’s legal and policy work on immigration, economic migration, asylum and nationality.

Working under the direction of the Legal Director, the post holder will lead detailed legal and policy analysis, support parliamentary and influencing activity and contribute to high-quality information and engagement for ILPA members.

You will do this through various support plans and interventions, running and participation of activities, and working alongside various internal and external partners.

• Being the main support worker for a group of residents, helping to create and update their support and risk plans.

The Legal Director provides strategic leadership on immigration, economic migration, asylum and nationality for ILPA, with a primary focus on legal policy, legislative analysis, member engagement and public influence.

The role is responsible for shaping ILPA’s legal positions, overseeing the quality and coherence of legal analysis across the organisation, and maintaining ILPA’s standing as the leading professional membership body in immigration and asylum law.

Key responsibilities

1. Legal strategy and leadership

In collaboration with the Trustees and Chief Executive, the Legal Director will:

a. Develop and maintain ILPA’s short-, medium- and long-term legal strategy in line with ILPA’s charitable objectives.

Young Citizens is seeking a Business Development and Special Projects Lead to support a critical year of fundraising, income generation and partnership development. Year 1 of this role will be focused on business model development, income generation and strategic partnerships. Job summary

We’re looking for a Marketing Manager to join our team to create, deliver and analyse integrated marketing plans that utilise the full marketing mix to extend the reach and maximize the sales of BookTrust’s traded reading programmes to schools.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for using data and insight to develop and deliver marketing activity to support a wide range of BookTrust campaigns, events and initiatives to meet our ambitious targets. You’ll establish an ongoing evaluation process and utilise sector and customer insight to continually improve our marketing. 

Experience of working across multiple campaigns in an agile way and prioritising your workload effectively is essential. 

The ideal candidate will have a breadth of marketing skills and experience and a proactive and collaborative approach to working with colleagues across the charity to deliver marketing campaigns and activity to a consistently high standard. 

The successful candidate must have at least three years of marketing experience, have previously worked in a B2B, traded and/or commercial marketing role at a similar level including people management experience.
