• Design and implement a mid-value programme for a pipeline of mid-value donors, cultivating relationships with individuals, families, trusts and foundations who are making donations up to £10k,
• Build and grow a community of donors at this level, bringing together likeminded, generous individuals,
• Take ownership over the programme and work creatively to develop new materials for the programme, continually improving donor journeys.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management, design and delivery of monitoring, evaluation and learning activities across three levels: individual interventions, groups of related interventions (programmes) and the overall portfolio level. Working with our portfolio team, you will scope and design proportionate approaches to track progress at intervention, programme and portfolio level, assess outcomes, and understand whether - and why - intended outcomes are being achieved, to support improvement. You will also help us better understand and report on Purposeful Ventures’ organisational impact.

Successful candidates will have led evaluations end-to-end, including designing studies and analysing and reporting quantitative data (administrative and other monitoring/assessment data, plus surveys). Experience of research or evaluation relating to improving maths attainment, including via teaching-workforce initiatives and delivering evaluations for funders or charities (including in research agencies), is desirable.

Responsibilities and duties​

​1. Work closely with the Head of Evaluation to implement Purposeful Ventures’ monitoring and evaluation framework, to ensure alignment with organisational objectives and sector standards.

• Translate the framework into portfolio, programme and intervention level monitoring and evaluation plans with clear outcomes, indicators, baselines and reporting cycles.
• Establish proportionate evaluation ethics, privacy and safeguarding practices and ensure compliance across our three portfolio areas.
• Review and maintain templates, guidance and quality assurance processes; innovating to improve and use methods in line with sector best practice.

2. Strengthen programme design, delivery, monitoring and reporting across Purposeful Ventures and partner organisations.

• Work in partnership with portfolio team colleagues and partner organisations to ensure that partner organisations have proportionate yet robust monitoring and evaluation plans.
• Ensure appropriate data quality and timely reporting by designing and setting up monitoring and evaluation systems, including specifying and managing data collection.
• Establish effective monitoring processes that improve programme design and delivery, and inform funder reporting, by providing hands-on support and guidance to partner organisations.
• Enable better decisions on design, delivery and grant-making by synthesising monitoring and evaluation evidence into clear, actionable insights.
• Ensure findings drive improvements in intervention, programme and portfolio design and delivery by embedding effective reflective processes, including facilitated learning sessions.

• Manage external partners/projects to scope, budget and timelines, provide constructive technical reviews and assure methodological and reporting quality.

4. Support colleagues with advice and guidance about monitoring and evaluation for impact and broader research expertise.

• Provide timely technical input to proposals, portfolio/programme design and communications.
• Build capability across portfolio teams and partner organisations through coaching, training and practical tools.
• Support portfolio design, delivery and reporting by conducting technical reviews of research studies, evaluation plans and reports.

As our Events Administrator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of meetings and conferences that make a real difference to clinical care. Working closely with our Conference Organiser and the wider Learning Team, as well as colleagues in marketing, sponsorship and external stakeholders, you’ll help us deliver events that inspire, educate and connect healthcare professionals worldwide.

• Support the planning and delivery of high-quality events across the UK and globally.
• Coordinate logistics, manage registrations, and ensure delegates and speakers have an exceptional experience.
• Work with subject matter experts, sponsors and partners to bring events to life.
• Provide outstanding customer service and troubleshoot on the day to keep everything running smoothly.

Our mission at St. Hilda’s East is to equip our service users with the resilience to navigate modern life. We welcome everyone into our spaces and work together to deliver engaging activities, promote social contact and ultimately enrich lives. 

Located in Tower Hamlets, we welcome people of all ages to our large, friendly community centre in Shoreditch where we offer a wide range of activities promoting wellbeing and social connections. Our services include sensory play for Under-5’s, youth programmes, wellbeing activities for those experiencing mental health issues, bilingual advice, and activities to reduce social isolation and enhance physical and mental wellbeing for older people. We also run a day centre in Shadwell, where we care for elders from the Bangladeshi and other communities. 

We employ over 40 staff and engage about 65 volunteers each year. In a recent survey of our staff, more than three-quarters reported St Hilda's as a great place to work, and this role will help embed best practice relating to employment and volunteering to ensure we can build upon this positivity. The postholder will work closely with our Senior Leadership Team and the Board, including a Trustee who has several decades experience as a HR manager and consultant. The role would highly suit someone in the early stages of their career in HR wishing to expand upon their experience or, alternatively, someone with a career in HR behind them, looking for a change of scene and to get involved in a mission driven charity. 

The postholder will provide support and guidance on HR matters to all staff and managers, helping to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Our newly refreshed strategic priorities include a commitment to increasing volunteer participation within the charity’s work, and the postholder will play a key role in implementing this priority by improving our procedures and enhancing our capacity.     

This job is for you, if you: 

• Have at least 2 years’ experience in HR administration and practice, ideally within the charity sector.
• A good working knowledge of employment legislation and best practice in people management. 
• The ability and passion to drive forward an agenda around staff and volunteer engagement and wellbeing. 
• Ability to write organisational policies.
• Demonstrable knowledge of best practice around volunteer management, or the ability to learn quickly.

As Finance Manager, you’ll play a central role in ensuring the integrity of our financial processes and systems, leading on fund and tax management, including relevant reporting and compliance.

You’ll oversee the administration and analysis of restricted and designated funds, ensuring accurate accounting and adherence to donor agreements and pump prime arrangements. This is a crucial role in managing our income recognition processes, refining internal financial controls and driving continuous improvement of our accounting systems, helping to shape scalable systems that support long-term growth.

Working closely with the Head of Financial Accounts, you’ll liaise with teams across the charity to ensure robust VAT and tax compliance, support the preparation of year-end financial reporting and contribute to producing papers for the Finance Risk and Audit committee.

To succeed, you will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) with strong experience in a charity finance environment. A strong working knowledge of charity accounting and SORP reporting requirements is essential, along with experience in donor/restricted funds management and knowledge of VAT and tax. You should have experience of supervising or managing a small team. You should also be able to demonstrate an ability to manage time effectively, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience of different accounting software preferably with Sun Systems and Proactis.

BACKGROUND

Ashiana is a ‘by and for’ women led BME VAWG service with 30 years’ experience in delivering a holistic range of specialist services to South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern women affected by Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG).

OUR SERVICES

Ashiana runs three refuges with a total of 29 bedspaces; specifically for women aged 16-35 fleeing forced marriage. This multi award winning project is the only service of its kind in the UK and is highly innovative in terms of addressing an area of significant need not met in other refuge provision. Within these refuges we designate a number of bedspaces for women with no recourse to public funds. We offer an advice and support service to women and girls who are experiencing VAWG, enabling them to make informed decisions and exit violent relationships. We provide a legal service supporting women with no recourse to public funds to help resolve their immigration status.

Counselling is offered for women and girls affected by VAWG. The counselling service works from an integrative stance, with the focus of providing a holistic service whereby we also work alongside other services and provide specialist domestic violence group work. The emphasis of therapeutic work with our clients is from a trauma informed model.

We also deliver an education programme for young people in secondary schools in East London aimed at preventing domestic violence and enabling young people experiencing domestic violence to access appropriate services. The prevention service includes delivering a whole school approach in schools to young people as well as group work to women and girls across North East London boroughs as well as community engagement activities and delivery. We deliver a range of awareness raising workshops for young people in the community and training on domestic violence for professionals in the voluntary and statutory sector.

PRIMARY TASK:

The post is instrumental in overseeing the delivery of a comprehensive package of services and care for women in our refuges. To provide a safe environment and a service that is appropriate to the needs of young BME women particularly those from South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern communities and to support ex-clients following resettlement.

The post holder will have a caseload of clients and be responsible for providing advice, advocacy, casework and support to women and girls, advocating on behalf of these women and making others aware of their particular needs. The post-holder is required to demonstrate sensitivity and an awareness of the culture and needs of minoritised communities in all aspects of their duties and responsibilities.
