We are launching the 2025-2026 Macmillan Clinical Fellowship programme. This is an exciting new programme, key in the implementation of our new ambitious 2025-2030 strategy.

The Older People's Clinical Fellow (Occupational Therapist) will be part of the Centre of Clinical Expertise and a member of the Cancer and Other Long Term Conditions Core Strategic group. The role will bring insight, expertise and the opportunity to collaborate to seek solutions, best practice and innovation. As part of this work there will be opportunity to deliver learning and development, conference presentations and media and communications activities such as academic publications, newsletters and web content development.

Job Purpose

The weekend Home & Settle Project Officer is responsible for responding to referrals received over the weekend from both Royal London Hospital & Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. You will work with the manager on Friday to deliver services and plan visits on the weekend for you to attend.

The service supports people returning after a stay in hospital, helping them to settle back at home, regain confidence and support with some practical tasks, e.g. shopping/cleaning.  You will manage referrals, carry out assessments, and in liaison with the manager, allocate service users to Discharge and Settle Worker caseloads. You will provide direct frontline support and co-ordinate visits to the service users’ home in preparation for their return home. You will work collaboratively to lead and manage the weekend service to support the smooth transition from hospital to home for service users.  The service is time limited, up to 4 or 6 weeks, to adjust, build confidence, and settle back in their homes.

Key Tasks

• Act as the first point of contact for all referrals over the weekend across both hospitals.
• Meet with patients in the community and/or hospital and carrying out assessments and risk assessments.
• Enter referrals on to AUKEL’s case management system (currently Charity Log) in accordance with GDPR guidelines.
• Allocate referrals to Discharge and Settle workers (in the week) using tech available (currently the Call Round App), training will be available.
• Collect feedback from service users and upload to case management system.
• Prepare and keep stock of AUKEL Welcome Packs and service leaflets.
• Deputise for the manger at discharge planning and other meetings as required.
• Support hospitals to improve the patient’s experience of the discharge process.
• Monitor the case loads of each of the Discharge and Settle workers (DSW) to ensure they are evenly and fairly balanced.
• Work collaboratively with other agencies providing support services.
• Work with people with a range of needs, dealing with issues ranging from social isolation and keeping people engaged in their community, to preventing unnecessary readmission to hospital.
• Plan and develop person centred interventions to provide short term support for people after hospital discharge.
• Deliver the front-line support services over the weekend
• Provide occasional cover for the A/L of other Project Officers
• Work with people with a range of needs, dealing with issues ranging from social isolation and keeping people engaged in their community, to preventing unnecessary admission to hospital.

• Ensure DSW are resourced to sign post service users to other services when the home and settle service intervention ends.

Administration

• ·Keep AUKEL’s case management system up to date, input all data, and ensure all referrals, interventions, time spent with service users are recorded.
• Allocate referrals to DSW using tech available (currently - Charity Log ‘Call Round’ App).
• Ensure wards have good supply of service leaflets and referral forms.
• Ensure data collected meets the requirements of the service’s contract monitoring and key performance indicators.
• Ensure customer feedback questionnaires are sent at the end of each intervention and record returns.
• Ensure admin tasks relating to service users, Discharge and Settle workers or general admin is carried out in a timely and efficient manner. 
• Provide cover as needed, i.e. annual leave and sickness, for the services you manage, and other hospital settle services provided by AUKEL
• Carry out monitoring of the service ensuring it meets the contractual requirements of commissioners.

Quality

• Be familiar with and to implement AUKEL policies and procedures.
• Ensure the service is delivered in accordance with Care Quality Commission fundamental standards.
• Ensure integration with other AUKEL projects, and service users are referred and/or sign-posted to appropriate support services available to them.

Liaison

• Represent AUKEL and participate in appropriate external meetings and events to remain aware of local, regional and national issues affecting quality and compliance affecting care and home support services.

We are looking for an energetic and proactive individual to join our friendly team. As Research Manager of Patient Programmes, you'll have a crucial role in advancing our mission. A central focus of this role is to develop and lead patient-centred educational programs, webinars, and content that ensure patients are well-informed, actively engaged, and empowered throughout their journey. You will also play a key role in strengthening the Foundation’s connection with patients and advocacy groups, ensuring their voices are meaningfully reflected in our research agenda and broader mission. A critical and growing area of work for the Foundation is the systematic gathering and use of patient insights and data. This role will help shape and deliver that work, ensuring that lived experience informs everything we do, from research to support initiatives.

You will also lead the project management of our scientific events from planning through to delivery, ensuring they run smoothly, on time, and within budget. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, engaging events that foster collaboration and advance knowledge in the field.

Key responsibilities

Strengthening patient engagement and education

• Education: Lead the delivery of impactful, patient-centred educational initiatives such as webinars, polls, and video content to inform and empower people living with FL, their families, and carers, and align with the Foundation’s mission to accelerate progress toward cure.
• Strategy Support: Support the Director of Patient and Clinical Research Programmes to develop and implement a long-term patient strategy that drives lasting impact and supports the Foundation’s mission to find a cure.
• Partnership Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with FL patients, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders to ensure patient perspectives shape our programmes and research priorities with a clear line of sight to cure.

Purpose of the Role

The Membership & Communications Manager is a new part time role at the School Partnerships Alliance, reporting to the Chief Executive and working closely with our Executive Assistant. You will join us at an exciting time as we develop our new organisational strategy and expand our current school membership offer. As this is a new position this post does not currently have direct reports, but there may be an opportunity to recruit additional team member(s) as the organisation continues to grow over the next 12-18 months. You will be required to work closely with both our CEO and Director of Programmes and Research to lead on the development and delivery of the membership strategy, both stewarding and growing our membership base year on year. You will also be required to manage our new website, provide support with our social media, and ensure that all member communications align with both our brand values and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver a new, robust membership strategy that supports the S.P.A.’s key objectives. This will include new member acquisition, current member retention and ensuring that stewardship of school members is effective and fit for purpose. You will work with the Director of Programmes and Research to help deliver a credible school partnerships CPD programme and collaborate with the wider S.P.A. team to create a tangible, attractive membership offer (both on and off-line) that will bring schools together, challenge existing partnership practice and support new thinking.
• Actively identify, solicit and enrol new schools as members, building and maintaining an evolving pipeline of new membership prospects.
• Plan and prepare for meetings with current and potential members and accompany CEO and/or Director of Programmes and Research to cultivation meetings where appropriate.
• Be the first point of call for all members and with the support of the Executive Assistant to the CEO, oversee the processing of all new membership applications, renewals and invoices and ensure all enquiries from existing and prospective members are responded to in a timely manner.
• Work with the wider team to confirm a calendar of membership events across the school year. These will take place both online and/or in locations across the UK, so occasional travel will be required.
• Oversee the membership budget and provide quarterly income forecasts and reports to the CEO and Trustees, monitoring and reporting against income targets.
• Build and maintain partnerships with wider S.P.A. stakeholders to include external school membership organisations, MATs and S.P.A. trustees.
• Empower S.P.A. staff and our trustee board to support membership development, utilising their talents and networks effectively.
• Lead on the preparation of high-quality digital membership communication and related marketing and event materials.
• Oversee the establishment of an appropriate administration system to ensure effective membership tracking, due diligence, and to ensure that the S.P.A. has a robust, professional approach to member stewardship.
• Ensure all membership delivery complies with our internal protocols and all external regulations.
• To attend relevant S.P.A in person events.
• To be an active ambassador for the organisation and carry out any other related duties deemed commensurate with the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

This is a highly rewarding role for a Team Leader to lead on the implementation of a new outreach strategy and working with Camden’s Early Years’ Service to deliver the start for life and family hubs programme, with a specific focus on enhancing antenatal provision as well as managing an established perinatal service.

You will be proactive in developing excellent relationships and partnerships with statutory and voluntary agencies, bringing local partners together and strengthening the wider antenatal support service offer available to new and expectant parents.

You will have line management and supervision responsibilities for a small team and will be expected to set up and deliver our parenting programmes for new parents in Family Hubs and the community.  The service will work closely in partnership with the midwifery services, Children’s Centres/Family HUBS, health teams and mental health services.

The successful candidate will need to have significant experience of managing and supervising staff and volunteers.  Excellent communication skills both written and oral, as well as experience of safeguarding are essential. You will also be required to have the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver in tight timescales, work on own initiative and as part of a team.

About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Legacy professional with a good understanding of charity legacy administration, to assist Macmillan in receiving its rightful entitlements from gifts in supporters' wills in a timely manner, by collaborating with executors and other charities to maximize the value of each gift whilst also aiming to enhance the charity's reputation.

The postholder will manage a caseload of higher value, residuary, specific and trust gifts, ensuring executors, family, and friends have a positive experience with Macmillan as a beneficiary. Responsibilities include accurately recording data, creating valuations per the Charity Commission’s SORP 2019 and Macmillan’s Legacy Income Recognition Policy, and assessing any conditions on gift usage. Communication with executors and co-beneficiaries will occur via letters, emails, and phone calls. Additionally, you will gather stories to promote legacy giving and adhere to all data protection laws.
