The Role

This is an exciting new role in a newly created team, formed to acquire strategic corporate partnerships and community connections. Main responsibilities will include:

• Developing a robust pipeline of future support focussing on high value relationships.
• Delivering engagement strategies and products to enhance the conversion rate of your pipeline.
• Developing and delivering a relationship stewardship plan for all corporate partners.
• Delivering an individual income target.
• Tracking and monitoring income and pipeline values to support with forecasting and budgeting.

The Person

We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic person with excellent communication and relationship building skills. You should be excited by the prospect of building a new pipeline and portfolio of corporate partners and be confident stewarding relationships in this space. 

You must be able to work flexibly to maximise opportunities across Scotland, and have the initiative and ability to work with autonomy. Previous experience in fundraising is desirable; however, we are also keen to speak with people who also have the knowledge and experience in building relationships and are keen to transfer this skillset into the rewarding world of fundraising!

Join our small and friendly team, working remotely, this summer as a chance to experience working in an edtech environment and use your mathematical skills. We are looking to appoint an intern to support our work over the summer period (including September) across a range of organisational functions. 

Summer is an important period for us: teachers and students are on holiday, so it’s a chance to plan and prepare for the year ahead, particularly ahead of our busiest time for subscription and account setup in September. We are therefore looking for an intern to work across three areas:

1. Quality assurance (QA) across our question answering functionality. Our coders have developed thousands of question generators that need to be tested to ensure they work as intended; we also upload real GCSE and A level questions that need to maintain fidelity to the real thing while being translated into an online environment. You’ll be testing these questions, finding ways to break them, working out where equivalents don’t work when they should - or shouldn’t - using your mathematical knowledge in a unique way.

2. Customer support. We receive around a dozen emails to our support inbox each day from teachers and students who need help with account management and users who’ve spotted something that’s broken. We’re seeking someone who can efficiently problem solve account issues and act as a detective: working out how to replicate an issue a user is having, effectively document it, and pass it onto our devs to fix.

3. Social media administration. Jamie might be the face of our social media channels it couldn’t happen without support around the edges. That includes captioning/transcription, adding titles and descriptions, and using our site tooling to link videos to our platform. Some of this is routine, but some requires judgement and social media nous, like deciding on what makes for an effective caption.

Beyond these duties, we intend on making the most of the appointee’s strengths to delve deeper into at least one of these areas with dedicated projects to be presented to the management team. That might be presenting a big-picture vision of how we can increase fidelity to real exam questions in an online environment, or experimenting with AI supportdesk tools to respond to queries, or designing a social media content strategy that aligns with our goals – all areas that aren’t urgent to fix, but have high potential to make a difference. We know we can always learn and improve, and hugely value the insight of fresh pairs of eyes. Our ideal candidate will be keen to get stuck into these challenges and relish the experience to work with a wide range of our team members.

About the Youth Endowment Fund

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.

 Last year, 244 people in England and Wales tragically died after being assaulted with a knife. Of these, 32 were children. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them. Even beyond knife crime, we know that the fear of violence has a terrible effect on children’s daily lives.

The Youth Endowment Fund exists to try and permanently change things. To succeed, we must build an exceptional body of knowledge about violence affecting young people and how we reduce it. This knowledge has to be both rigorous and highly relevant to those making decisions about how to support vulnerable young people. We need to find out what works and what doesn’t through evidence synthesis, data analysis and qualitative research into children’s lives. We then need to convert this into highly accessible content on what works, how delivery organisations need to change their practice and how the systems they operate in need to be reformed.

About the Toolkit Team

The Toolkit team is at the heart of our work to spread knowledge of what works to prevent children becoming involved in violence. We want research to lead actual changes in outcomes for children.

Our flagship resource, the Toolkit, is a free, online resource that summarises the best available evidence about the effectiveness of various approaches to preventing children becoming involved in violence. It explains the evidence, how confident we can be about the findings, and provides actionable guidance to help policy makers, commissioners, and practitioners to turn evidence into action. The Toolkit is influencing real world policy and practice: the Home Office requires Violence Reductions Units to allocate at least 30% of their funding to interventions that have an impact rating of ‘high’ or ‘moderate’ in the Toolkit. Over half of Youth Justice Services use the Toolkit to align their work with the latest available evidence. Our Change team use the Toolkit to influence systems, policy and practice across children’s services, education, health, neighbourhoods, policing, youth services and youth justice.

The Toolkit is a live resource that currently contains 35 approaches to violence prevention, and we will add at least ten updates to the content this year. New research is published every day around the world. We collate relevant studies in our YEF programmes evidence and gap map and YEF systems evidence and gap map, and we collate study results in our Effect Size Database. We are working in partnership with the National Children’s Bureau and the EPPI Centre to implement new technology and to use machine learning to create a ‘living platform’, that contains relevant studies and their results in one place. This is an exciting development that will significantly speed up our production of systematic reviews and meta-analyses to keep the Toolkit up to date.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Research Manager will be an essential part of the YEF Toolkit Team and will develop a portfolio of impactful projects. The core of your role will be leading the commissioning of evidence synthesis, using our new methodology, across a range of topics and producing Toolkit content.

You will:

Commission new systematic reviews.

• You will lead the commissioning and management of systematic reviews of the evidence through our Toolkit and Evidence Synthesis Partners: the National Children’s Bureau, the EPPI Centre, and the Race Equality Foundation. This will involve scoping and prioritising violence prevention approaches, convening expert advisory groups, reviewing research protocols and technical reports, and ensuring that research products produce actionable insights.

Write accurate and actionable summaries of evidence for the Toolkit.

· You will use findings from evidence synthesis to write new summaries for the Toolkit, and to inform YEF’s guidance and implementation resources.

· You will ensure that Toolkit content is only ever easy-to-understand and written in plain English with incredible clarity.

·You will collaborate with our Research team and our Change team to feed insights from the evidence into systems, sector and practice guidance. 

Lead Toolkit communications.

· Collaborating with the YEF Communications and Public Affairs team, you will produce accurate social media content, blogs, and briefings on new Toolkit content to facilitate accurate journalism and press coverage.

Become an expert on the Toolkit.

· You will be an advocate for Toolkit evidence, and you will ensure insights from this evidence are accurately communicated to policy makers and practitioners. You will do this by delivering presentations on Toolkit evidence and providing briefings.

· You will also ensure YEF colleagues are up to date on the topics and content in the Toolkit by providing training and updates internally and sharing guidance about how to accurately explain the evidence.

About You

· You have at least three years’ experience working in a role that required you to think about research. This could include a range of roles in policy, academia, funding, and practice.

· You write in a way that people easily understand. You have that rare skill of writing in plain English. You have experience of translating complex research findings into plain writing that everyone can understand.

· You have excellent project and time management skills. You can work independently, quickly, and to a high standard.

·You are good with people. You are comfortable working with a wide range of people, including senior academics and other research experts, children and their families, practitioners, and policy makers. You’re able to provide constructive challenges when required.

Homebased

The Individual Giving Manager will develop and deliver a fundraising plan to grow support for Winston’s Wish across both online and offline channels, including Direct Mail, Regular Giving, Lottery, Legacies, and In Memory giving. The focus of the role will be to engage supporters across the UK, encouraging deeper, longer-term connections and greater advocacy for the work of the charity with grieving children and families.

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering individual giving programmes and a solid understanding of fundraising across individual giving, in-memory giving, and legacies. They will have a track record of developing successful supporter strategies, managing budgets, and using CRM systems effectively. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines are essential.

This is a key role supporting the NFF team to amplify the experience of flooded people and the work of the National Flood Forum.  We’re looking for a proactive and people-focused Communications & Campaigns Manager to join our team. This role will support national campaigns, amplify our key messages and activity across regions, platforms and stakeholders. You will be a key contact and will help us tell powerful stories about flooding and flooded people.

Responsibilities

Strategic Communications & Storytelling

• Translate community activity and project work into compelling stories and campaigns that raise the voices of those affected by flooding.
• Contribute creative ideas to grow awareness of the National Flood Forum’s work and impact.
• Adapt messages to resonate with a variety of audiences, including policymakers, partners, media, and communities.

Content Creation & Digital Media

• Create engaging digital and written content, including newsletters, blogs, website content, case studies, and social media posts.
• Support and build on the development of the NFF’s website
• Drive integrated campaign work by aligning digital, press, and stakeholder communications.
• Identify and utilise external opportunities (e.g. climate events, flooding anniversaries, policy milestones) to share relevant content.
• Create a bank of case studies to highlight the issues flooded people face.

Campaigns & Public Engagement

• Co-ordinate campaign timelines and content plans to support campaigns
• Report on the performance and reach of campaigns and support the wider team in evaluating impact.
• Organise, devise, attend and support events—online and in person—helping regional teams share their work effectively.

Media & External Relations

• Identify and cultivate relationships with the media, write press releases and media materials and identify case studies or spokespeople.
• Build strong working relationships with community flood groups to help them share their stories in the media.
• Monitor media coverage and engage with media opportunities aligned with NFF’s mission.

Internal Communications & Capacity Building

• Work with the leader team to manage the internal communications and support staff with templates, messaging guidance, and digital tools.
• Produce and distribute the internal newsletter, gathering updates and impact stories from teams and regional staff.
• Support staff and volunteers with communications training and briefings to build confidence and skills.

Knowledge Management & Brand Consistency

• Keep internal communication and campaign assets up to date.
• Feed insights from staff and communities into the improvement of communication tools and templates.
• Work to ensure consistent branding and accessibility across all channels.

Day-to-Day Activities

· You will create content for a variety of audiences and stakeholders in a number of different formats  

· Working with colleagues you will drive forward and support social media management

· You will work with the team to help shape and deliver campaigns on the issues that matter most to flooded people

· You will support the development of the NFF’s website & support digital updates

· You will be the main point of contact for local and national media and public relations

· You will carry out Internal Communications

· You will carry out Monitoring & Evaluation activity to ensure campaigns are effective and impactful

· You will ensure that all communications meet any regulatory and compliance requirements

62,000 children and young people are bereaved of a parent or sibling every year in the year UK. This charity was the first organisation in the UK to provide specialist support to grieving children and while much has changed since their founding in 1992, their desire to make difference to as many children and young people’s lives as they can remains undimmed. The charity's fundraising is undergoing transformational change, and this role will be key to supporting and retaining donors by improving processes and systems. The postholder will lead on innovation, stewardship, and continuous improvement, shaping strategies that strengthen supporter relationships, enhance satisfaction, build loyalty, and deliver a world-class donor experience.

The successful candidate will bring significant experience in donor retention, customer experience, fundraising, or direct marketing—ideally within the charity sector. They will have a proven ability to design and deliver effective donor journeys, craft persuasive fundraising content, and develop compelling cases for support. A strong grasp of digital platforms, audience segmentation, and data-led insight will be key to driving performance and meaningful supporter engagement.

The skills and knowledge that are important to us are:

• A relevant professional qualification in Social Work, Counselling or Youth & Community Work (at graduate level).
• At least two years’ experience of working with young people aged 11-18.
• Experience in providing effective individual support to young people who are under stress/have mental health difficulties.
• Awareness of the impact of mental health on the lives of young people.
• Experience of delivering psycho-social support to young people with learning disabilities. (DESIRABLE)

Responsibilities

The role

CGL’s Business Development Team is a large national team. This role will sit within a smaller specialist services sub-team, who have responsibility for retaining existing specialist contracts and winning new business opportunities.

You will work with a small group of bid writers to oversee all aspects of the tender process. You will also have responsibility for pipeline management and work closely with our services and operational colleagues to navigate processes under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) regulations.

You will work collaboratively with people who use our services, front line staff and managers, clinicians, departmental leads and senior stakeholders including Directors, to develop service delivery models, budgets and partnerships for tenders and proposals.

You will have the opportunity to visit and engage with our staff and service users across the country, to learn about our services and specific local needs and challenges.

As a leader within our national Business Development Management Team, you will lead on improving the quality of our work and developing our team culture, thinking creatively, sharing your own knowledge and experiences, and challenging existing ways of working.

Ultimately you will play a key role in the design, development and delivery of our services and will help us to deliver on our organisational mission, strategy and values.

About you

You’ll be a highly competent project manager, with proven experience of leading and managing complex tenders and other projects in related fields.

You’ll be an excellent writer, with experience of writing tenders, bids and proposals.

You’ll be a confident and highly competent communicator, have excellent IT skills, be highly numerate and be able to analyse and work with complex data and financial information.
