The Role
Reporting to the Head of Development (New Business & Philanthropy) and working closely with our Development Managers, the Development Executive will play a crucial role in generating new income opportunities for the Trust. You will research, identify, and qualify prospects across corporates, trusts and foundations, and high-net-worth individuals. Using tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Dynamics CRM, and wider sector insight, you’ll build a strong, insight-led pipeline of opportunities that support our mission.

To lead the development and delivery of Women for Refugee Women’s (WRW) campaigns and communications strategy, ensuring compelling public engagement that amplifies the voices of refugee and asylum-seeking women, strengthens WRW’s profile, and mobilises supporters to take action. We are looking for someone to join us for a maternity cover contract from February 2026 to March 2027.  In our London Office vet team as our Veterinary Nurse Manager overseeing and supporting our vet nurse teams across the organisation.  

What does this role do?

As a Veterinary nurse manager you will,
 

• Lead and manage including making any required changes to  the SAS and VSF funding schemes, supporting the team to manage their workload.
• Oversee the invoice management for payments relating to these schemes and liaising with the Head of Finance.
• Support the Senior Vet Nurses in managing the Emergency Trust Fund (ETF) and any exceptional funding agreed for veterinary care of dogs.
• Provide professional support to the veterinary nursing teams working within the rehoming centres supporting their individual professional development as well as the functions of the vet suites. 
• Oversee patient safety and continual improvement across all vet nurse teams.
• Liaise with wider DT departments (Operations, Communications and Customer Support Centre) to manage escalated complaints which may include difficult or sensitive situations.
•  Represent the clinical veterinary team in cross organisational projects as well as undertake project management work that aligns with our strategy.

You work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with the ability to support and induct new peer staff and volunteers. You can collaborate with statutory services such as the NHS and maintain awareness of health and safety requirements within frontline settings. You are flexible and able to work early, late, weekend, and bank holiday shifts to meet 24-hour service needs.

You also bring strong IT, literacy, and numeracy skills, with the ability to produce clear written communication and use MS Word, Outlook, and online systems confidently.

BACKGROUND

Ashiana is a ‘by and for’ women led BME VAWG service with 30 years’ experience in delivering a holistic range of specialist services to South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern women affected by Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG).

OUR SERVICES

Ashiana runs three refuges with a total of 29 bedspaces; specifically for women aged 16-35 fleeing forced marriage. This multi award winning project is the only service of its kind in the UK and is highly innovative in terms of addressing an area of significant need not met in other refuge provision. Within these refuges we designate a number of bedspaces for women with no recourse to public funds. We offer an advice and support service to women and girls who are experiencing VAWG, enabling them to make informed decisions and exit violent relationships. We provide a legal service supporting women with no recourse to public funds to help resolve their immigration status.

Counselling is offered for women and girls affected by VAWG. The counselling service works from an integrative stance, with the focus of providing a holistic service whereby we also work alongside other services and provide specialist domestic violence group work. The emphasis of therapeutic work with our clients is from a trauma informed model.

We also deliver an education programme for young people in secondary schools in East London aimed at preventing domestic violence and enabling young people experiencing domestic violence to access appropriate services. The prevention service includes delivering a whole school approach in schools to young people as well as group work to women and girls across North East London boroughs as well as community engagement activities and delivery. We deliver a range of awareness raising workshops for young people in the community and training on domestic violence for professionals in the voluntary and statutory sector.

About the role

The new Director will:

· Provide inspirational leadership to staff, volunteers, and stakeholders.

· Ensure effective resource management and value for money across all activities.

· Build strong relationships with donors and partners.

· Advocate for Jesuit Missions’ beneficiaries and contribute to wider discussions.

· Forge strategic alliances with networks in furtherance of the vision and mission.

· Promote a positive organisational culture that reflects Jesuit Missions’ values.

Who you are

You will have:

· A demonstrable commitment to the role of mission and evangelisation of the Catholic church and an understanding of the mission of the Jesuits in Britain.

· Experience of working in the international development context.

· Experience of leadership for at least 3 years, ideally in the not-for-profit sector.

· Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.

· Strong networking, advocacy, and influencing skills.

· Collaborative, inclusive, and empathetic leadership style.
