We are seeking a Trusts Fundraising Officer to join our ambitious trusts and foundations team, supporting delivery of the trusts fundraising plan and maximising grant income. The successful candidate will contribute to developing compelling proposals to secure funding, provide excellent stewardship of donors to build long term relationships, and research new trust prospects.

Proven experience of successful trusts fundraising is essential, and the candidate will need to be proactive, naturally well organised, with the ability to craft powerful cases for support. An understanding of fundraising from trusts for medical research causes is desirable.

You will support the Head of Trusts Fundraising in maximising income from charitable trusts and foundations to meet and exceed financial targets; identifying new trusts and increasing the number and value of gifts.

Main tasks and Responsibilities

1. To support the Head of Trusts Fundraising in implementing the three-year strategic plan for Trust Fundraising, and in delivering an effective annual plan and budget that will enable Action Medical Research to maximise income from charitable trusts and foundations.

2. To develop and manage excellent relationships with existing and potential donors, particularly small and medium trusts.

3. To liaise with the Research department to identify appropriate projects to present to potential donors and to manage and report on restricted donations for specific medical research projects

4. To regularly research and monitor new target trusts building a strong pipeline of prospects.

5. To develop and write compelling and persuasive proposals to present to prospects and donors.

6. To ensure that trusts that have made restricted donations are kept appropriately informed of progress against the research work which they are funding and, in the longer term, of the impact that their support has achieved.

7. To manage allocated charity partnerships where co-funding medical research, agreeing trusts which may be individually or jointly approached, raising invoices and reporting at agreed intervals.

8. To ensure continuing dialogue with trusts which have the potential to support our work in the future.

9. To ensure that Raisers Edge and the grant link schedule are kept up to date.

10.  To work with Supporter Care to ensure timely notice of donations to enable the Trusts team to give speedy appreciation of support.

11.  To work with colleagues across the charity, and other external stakeholders, to advocate for trust fundraising, identify opportunities and support colleagues in overlapping fundraising objectives.

12.  Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Action Medical Research, the principles governing the funding of research and the projects being funded.

13.  Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the trust marketplace and competitive influences on it.

14.  Keep the Head of Trusts Fundraising fully informed of activities at all times and work closely with the Trusts Fundraising Officer.

• Develop and maintain robust and accurate data systems and monitoring processes, ensuring compliant archiving to support data integrity.

Essential Qualifications and Skills 

• Demonstrable experience in data analysis within the charity, public health, or social care sectors (comparable private sector experience will also be considered).

• Experience using CRM systems and data visualisation tools (e.g., Salesforce, Socialsuite) to support monitoring, reporting and organisational insight.

The Role

About SCEC

SCEC was founded over twenty years ago to provide learning enrichment opportunities to primary school children in disadvantaged communities in south London. Together with our partners, several leading independent schools, we currently operate four schemes in math, literacy, science and art. Your Role

The Scheme Director is a newly created role that will be pivotal in helping SCEC extend its reach. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will help SCEC design and implement an expansion programme as well as coordinating the delivery of the existing schemes via our school partners. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee scheme operations including pupil recruitment, enrolment and attendance to ensure the smooth running of schemes and maximum impact

• Support the Board in developing, implementing and monitoring an expansion programme
• Monitor and report on scheme performance and impact
• Prepare and manage budgets and disbursement of funds 
• Build and maintain systems and processes to support scheme operations, compliance and monitoring

We rebuild tropical fisheries with coastal communities

Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organization that puts people first. We support coastal fishers in remote and rural communities to rebuild fisheries, restore ocean life and build lasting pathways to prosperity. Our work began two decades ago in Madagascar’s remote coastal communities and is growing globally.

Across a dozen countries, we’re partnering with traditional fishers and community organizations to design, scale, strengthen and sustain fisheries management and conservation at the community level. We bring partners together in networks to advocate for reform, and share tools and best practices to support fishing communities across the globe. 

Summary job description

As the Director of Programme Performance, you will be pivotal in leading a team responsible for the design, implementation, and management of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) systems. Your leadership will be critical in developing performance indicators and data pipelines that inform organisational and programmatic key results, guide data-driven decision-making, and deliver meaningful impact assessments.

The Director of Programme Performance will ensure the effective development of culturally relevant, community-centric performance indicators and alignment with donor requirements. They will collaborate closely with the Data Science and Technical Knowledge teams to design and refine performance indicators, implement monitoring frameworks, and develop data flows that align with Blue Ventures’ strategic goals.

This role also includes overseeing the integration of community feedback, fostering continuous learning, and ensuring that programmatic data informs adaptive management.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with a strong background in marine conservation, socioeconomics, and MEL systems and experience working with small-scale fishing communities in diverse geographical contexts. This role will report to the Chief Technical Officer.

Your purpose

To support school recruitment by analysing school and trust data, identifying areas of opportunity, and holding early conversations to understand context and check alignment with our membership criteria. You will qualify leads, progress straightforward opportunities, and help ensure schools receive clear information and timely follow-up. Your insight will support targeted campaigns, pipeline planning, and a smooth route into membership.

Your responsibilities

• Work with school and trust data (GIAS, DfE, IMD/FSM, MAT lists, regional reports) to spot patterns, understand need, and help us focus on the right areas.

• Create named lists of schools and trusts connected through MATs, clusters, networks, or regional activity, so outreach is targeted rather than broad.

• Hold early conversations with schools, listen to their situation, check fit against our criteria, and progress straightforward opportunities through to joining.

• Manage the early stages of the sales/BD pipeline, keeping information up to date, noting next steps, and moving schools through the lifecycle.

• Nurture early interest, sharing helpful information, answering simple questions and booking follow-ups at the right time.

• Share insight with colleagues, including patterns, questions and common needs heard from schools.

• Support events and outreach activity, helping identify who to invite and following up afterwards.

• Take on practical research and follow-up work that supports the Head of Growth and Senior BD Lead to focus on more strategic accounts, MATs and Teaching School Hubs.

Where you’ll work: Remote, with potential regional and national travel to visit schools and attend Development Days/meetings, including some overnight stays.
