As a Community Shop Manager for St Giles Hospice you will lead a team of paid staff and volunteers. You’ll be empowered to make decisions locally whilst working within a supportive framework. You’ll work within and for your local community ensuring that engagement and support is understood and promoted.
You’ll have great commercial skills, an understanding of why customer service is key and want to be part of a successful team. Ideally you’ll have previous retail management experience, be able to demonstrate strong leadership and have the ability to work with and motivate any team.

Principle Tasks and Key Responsibilities:

Role Context
ALIMA UK is in its start-up phase and is made up of a small team. This period is exciting at times unpredictable. About the role

We are looking for a freelance Finance & Operations Officer - ideally with charity experience and familiar with Xero - who can support our core team of four as it takes the charity to the next level. Preferably able to work flexibly, the average time required is estimated at one day per week. This may mean dealing with an email or phone call in an ad hoc way from time to time.
Using a network of music industry professionals and youth workers, Grounded Sounds offer engaging, top quality programmes in a highly welcoming and supportive environment. The programmes are for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds - both 11 – 16 year olds in schools or youth centres and for 16 – 24 year olds (often NEET) with an interest in music. The programmes don’t just develop musical talent; they build young people’s confidence and life skills.
As Finance & Operations Officer, you will report to the Chief Executive and help with all ‘back office’ activities for the charity. These include: all bookkeeping activities; producing monthly and annual financial reports; managing and overseeing the use of Views, our Monitoring and Evaluation system from Substance; supporting the Chief Exec in ensuring policies and procedures are kept up to date; and supporting the team with analysis and reporting to funders. ob Purpose: London Met Students’ Union (LMSU), a registered charity and company, has been enhancing its processes and procedures to professionalise its approach to finances and day-to-day operations over the past year. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all our work meets the standards expected of a charity. It involves supporting the financial administration of the Students’ Union, managing student receptionist staff, and providing administrative support to the union and Senior Leadership Team.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Management and Supervision:

Line manage direct reports and monitor their workload to ensure adequate staffing levels.

Recruit and manage student staff and volunteers for union projects, events, and campaigns.

Maintain regular feedback channels with direct reports and conduct performance reviews in line with HR policies.
Finance:

Assist the Finance and Operations Manager in the efficient running of the Finance department.

Ensure accurate processing of sales ledger and purchase ledger transactions.

Assist with payment runs, monthly payroll processing, and various reconciliations.

Support the Finance and Operations Manager in annual audit and budget preparation.
Income Generation:

Identify income opportunities and oversee sales responsibilities of student receptionists.

Ensure student receptionists achieve income generation targets.
Operational Responsibilities:

Set up work email accounts for new starters and maintain contact details for all staff and officers.

Assist in gathering required documentation from new starters and manage union storage space.

Provide administrative support to senior management as needed.
Training:

Lead training planning for student receptionists to ensure understanding of union opportunities.

Support other staff training requirements as directed by the Finance and Operations Manager.

This is at an exciting and pivotal time for Equally Ours. At the end of 2022, they launched their ten year strategy, and as part of that focused their internal development in 2023/24 on becoming an anti-racist organisation - an ongoing commitment and journey. We are looking for an organised, motivated, and experienced Interim Operations Director to give support with capacity, update processes, and ensure the operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
A small team and welcoming team, so leaders need to enjoy covering a wide range of duties, from the strategic to hands-on. The role will involve close collaboration with the Co-CEOs.
The main responsibilities are:
* You will lead on delivering operational, finance and people strategy as well as oversee finances, working closely with 3rd party finance providers to manage the allocation of resources and oversee budgeting, and grant management.
* Lead on all aspects of our HR function, taking charge of people development, staff support, finalise revised pay and wellbeing policies and implement changes
* You'll support the team to develop and manage impactful partnerships and stakeholder relationships, providing strategic advice on project delivery and ensuring our partnership arrangements are well planned and managed with care
* You'll ensure they are compliant, maintaining effective internal policies and procedures, and are managing organisational risks effectively
* Alongside the CEO, you'll support the board of trustees in ensuring our organisational governance is solid.
To succeed in the role, you will need to have:
The successful candidate will have successfully led a team and demonstrated experience of how to stretch people and strengthen their confidence. You will have strong organisational skills and have a proven track record in leading an operations function, ideally within the charity sector. It would be valuable for you to have experience of leading organisational change initiatives.

This varied role uses event and programme management skills to deliver excellent service in a fast paced environment within the Christian sector as we advance the work of The Maclellan Foundation, one of the largest Christian family foundations in the USA.
