About the role:
When someone sustains a spinal cord injury, it is a life changing experience.
Back Up’s Regional Outreach and Engagement team are the very face of the organisation and are based across the UK, working directly with spinal cord injury centres, major trauma centres and hospitals – or indeed anywhere that people affected by spinal cord injury may be.
As a Regional Coordinator, you will build relationships and take ownership for what happens in your geographical area. Whether it be providing peer support to newly injured people in a clinical setting, facilitating wheelchair skills sessions, making referrals for ongoing support or supporting volunteers and fundraisers – you will be passionate about being able to demonstrate the impact of what we do, and will see for yourself how Back Up quite literally transforms lives.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are hiring a Resettlement Mentor, who will be responsible for offering support for residents with complex needs, who are ready to move on and live independently. You will offer a range of frontline care and support within the service, to support those who require accommodation and community-based support. We assist those facing challenges such as mental illness, substance misuse, homelessness, and offending backgrounds, helping them overcome barriers in their lives. Our goal is to tackle inequalities in access to health, employment, training, and social care.
You will support residents/participants in various ways including encouraging those moving into suitable accommodation, creating personalised support plans which meet their needs and objectives. You will also participate in and encourage residents/participants to participate in events, projects, and outreach including clinics for resident move on's within our clusters, and work flexibly with weekly visits to multiple hubs. Part of this role will also involve completing safeguarding and other referrals from Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) where this role is based, and working closely with the team of Peer Mentors and Support teams.
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9:00am-5:00pm, some activities and responsibilities may fall outside these hours.

- Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds and/or a good understanding of the sector

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support residents/participants to achieve their desired goals/outcomes in various ways especially around encouraging those moving on into suitable accommodation this can include but is not limited to the contribution and development of support plans, risk assessments, reviews, case meetings.
- Ensure service responsibilities and requirements are carried out effectively. This includes risk assessments, support sessions, safeguarding checks, training and development, and other responsibilities required for effective service delivery.
- Ensure all residents/participants understand their rights and responsibilities, and have access to the right tools, resources, and networks to support them in achieving their goals.
- Develop, participate in, and encourage residents/participants to participate in the running and development of various clinics for resident move on’s within our clusters and includes attending various projects and internal activities and events.
- Empower residents/participants to make decisions to take control over their lives, by creating an enabling environment.
- Provide advice, information, guidance, and life skills training to residents/participants as required.
- Carry out strengths-based assessments of need and risk and deliver holistic support and risk management plans, enabling residents/participants to achieve their aspirations and keep themselves safe.

As a Skills & Employability Adviser, you will use your creativity and mentoring skills to engage young people in the Youth Employability Service (YES), supporting them to move on to their next progression.
Covering the West of the county and based in Eastbourne, we are looking for someone with experience and initiative, who can work creatively to engage young people in the service and then move onto to their next progression.
Your role will extend beyond direct beneficiary support; you’ll collaborate closely with partner organisations and community hubs throughout East Sussex, ensuring seamless referrals and continued progress for our beneficiaries.
Main responsibilities:
- Effectively liaising and communicating with a range of partner organisations to identify support for young people as needed.
- Champion and promote opportunities and resources with the caseload and partners/stakeholders.
- Maintain regular and consistent contact with young people to gain their trust, delivering effective caseload management, appropriately managing risk and safeguarding.

The Role:
Funded by the National Lottery, this role is new for YCC, coming at a key point in our organisational development.
Whether you’re an experienced fundraiser or new to the business, to be successful in this role you’ll need to be passionate about support for carers and the need for change, either through your own lived experience as a carer or through your ability to empathise with people in unpaid caring roles.
Either way, you’ll need to be able to communicate effectively with a range of audiences and be a quick learner when it comes to giving people the best possible opportunities to give and fundraise in support of our vision for unpaid carers.
There are no formal qualifications for this role. Experience of fundraising is desirable, but we also recognise the value of skills developed in other jobs and aspects of life. Applications are equally welcome from candidates with appropriate transferrable skills looking to move to a deeply rewarding role with a cause for vital social change.

The Role
Reporting into the Funding and Innovation Manager you will lead on contract management, oversight and monitoring and evaluation of our grants and crowdfunding programmes to community groups and customers, with a value of over £350,000 a year. You will be a great communicator and will ensure a high-quality service for applicants and awardees and will track our social impact through robust monitoring.
Responsibilities include:
- Assessing funding applications received, undertaking due diligence and make recommendations to the grants panel.
- Producing high-quality documentation for all panel meetings including providing the panel with accurate and timely data to support decision-making.
- Effectively manage contractors for our grant's programmes including Community Grants, Employment and Skills and grants for customers.
- Deliver a good user experience for grant applicants and awardees and ensure there is consistency across grant programmes.
- Work with the Funding and Innovation Manager and Social Impact Manager and leads in each team to ensure monitoring and evaluation requirements are being delivered through the grants programme that demonstrate our social impact.
- Supporting opportunities via our grant programmes to bring in external funding to benefit SNG communities and customers.
- Working collaboratively across the Community Investment Directorate and with other internal teams ensuring grants programmes meet the priorities of their teams and customers in localities.
What we are looking for
You will have experience in a similar role in the grants space, or experience of working within the funding/charity sector. You'll have a passion for supporting community groups, creating thriving communities and delivering social impact. You'll also have:
- Experience in assessing grant applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and proven stakeholder management skills across all levels of colleague and with external partners.
- Contract management experience.
- Understand and interpret budgets and accounts.
- Being able to prepare and present data in a clear and informative way.
- Ability to validate and impact assess, to escalate data issues as required.
- Knowledge of methods to monitor the quality of data and identify issues.

York Carers Centre is an independent charity that helps unpaid carers in York access the support they need. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an individual with a genuine interest in using their experience and skills to lead a dedicated team of staff and volunteers working with and for young carers across York.
With responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of an effective quality Young Carer Service the post holder will ensure young carers are identified and recognised and have access to a range of emotional and practical support according to their specific needs.
The role will involve providing monitoring reports to our funders, working strategically with a range of professionals from the voluntary and statutory sector, and building relationships with schools; to raise awareness of young carers and ensure carers and their families access relevant information and support.
The Lead Officer will support the team to deliver activities and one-to-one support for the most vulnerable young people and work with colleagues to create initiatives which ensure young carers have fun, develop healthy networks and develop their voice through active participation thereby effecting positive change.

We are delighted that you are interested in joining the Social Impact Fast Track. In the first year of your programme you will join the team as an Analyst and, subject to successful completion of year one, in year two you will progress to Senior Analyst. During your two-year programme you will work within at least two of our organisational practices. You will work directly with our partners, understanding their needs and supporting them to maximise their impact. During the programme you will also lead pro-bono projects for our corporate social responsibility partners.
In addition to gaining experience with our partners and within our teams, you will undertake a structured learning and development programme which includes mentoring from one of our Group Directors, and regular learning and development sessions including a dedicated professional development budget. Between years one and two you will receive a two-week paid break and a budget of up to £1500 to complete a research project on ‘Impact and Sustainability’ and report your findings back to representatives of our Group Board. You will also have the opportunity to have a two-week placement in one of our partner organisations, to help you develop your professional skill set. At the end of the programme we expect a number of participants to apply for and progress into our Officer and Manager roles, or look to secure positions with our partners or other like minded social purpose organisations.

During the probation and training period you will be required to come into the office at least 2 days a week.
