An exciting opportunity has arisen and we are seeking to appoint a Chief Officer to lead the successful development and implementation of our strategic plan. The Chief Officer will be responsible for the direct management of Headway North Staffs, ensuring services are delivered in line with contracts and funder requirements, in order to achieve high quality outcomes for service users.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring appropriate governance and compliance with charity commission requirements and our obligations to our funders.  Leadership experience in the charity sector or in a service organisation supporting people with disabilities is essential.

We are a small, highly experienced team who share a passion to support the wellbeing and mental health of children and young people across Surrey.  This is a key new role in the Major Relationships unit to support the CEO and Major Relationships Lead in major donor fundraising, an area which has grown in recent years.  This locally based post will enhance the prospect pipeline and facilitate the cultivation of major donor prospects, which will help towards meeting the objectives and financial targets for major donor fundraising. The role will cover three main areas of responsibility: Research, Events (organisation/co-ordination) and Admin. This position requires discretion, confidentiality and administrative judgment.

The Major Relationships unit works alongside Grants, Corporates & Community as well as Individual Giving, as part of the wider Engagement (fundraising/marketing) team at Eikon. 

Responsibilities   

1. Research   

• Identify and prioritise potential major donor prospects in Surrey and beyond, who would be capable of making significant contributions and seem likely to have the propensity to donate i.e. to become major donors. 

• Produce high quality, tailored and insightful research on major donors.  

• Look at current supporters (all different types/levels) with good contacts/connections/networks and conduct research in order to suggest ways to reach new high net worth individuals across Surrey. 

2. Event organisation/co-ordination 

• Organise/coordinate internal and externally run events such as dinners, drinks receptions, sporting events. 

• Attend key events - approx. 5 each year and sometimes evenings/weekends – welcoming guests and ensuring a positive experience. 

• Join the CEO and/or the Major Relationships Lead at specific meetings with MDs/MDPs, occasionally evenings/weekends. 

 3. Admin 

• Day-to-day support for MDs, MDPs and key influencers (KIs) which could include:  

• General stewardship including thanking and processing information on Sharepoint and Donorfy (Eikon’s database). 

• Regular communication including calls, meetings and sharing reports, presentations and other updates. 

• Database admin, including checking opportunity pipelines and reporting requirements. 

• Supporting individuals or small groups who are fundraising for us e.g. how to set up and promote a JustGiving page. 

4. Marketing, Communications and relationships  

• Support and liaise with the Marketing and Communications team to deliver relevant and effective content and materials, as well as maximising social media opportunities. 

• Co-ordinate communications (including distribution) to all MDs/MDPs/KIs eg CEO Update plus Infographic. 

• Support the CEO and Major Relationships Lead to further develop good relationships with Eikon’s MDs/MDPs/KIs. 

5. Strategy  

• Contribute to Engagement Team strategies, annual plans and budgets.  

6. Staff management  

• Take part in regular supervision and team meetings.  

• No line management requirement  

7. Quality and standards  

• Ensure all staff and volunteers understand and deliver within Eikon’s safeguarding policies and practices when taking part in fundraising activities.  

• Ensure all activities follow the relevant Fundraising Codes of Practice and Eikon’s Ethical Fundraising Policy.  

• Carry out risk assessments for all MD/MDP/KI events.  

• Ensure consent procedures are followed. 

• Carry out required due diligence on new MD opportunities and ensure that there is no obvious conflict with the values or ethical policy of the charity.  

8. Finance and resources.  

• Operate within organisational approved budgets, policies and procedures.   

9. Other responsibilities  

• This role requires flexible working outside of normal hours as agreed.  

• Keep abreast of sector trends and opportunities.   

Age UK's Digital & Technology division is recruiting for an Asset and Dispatch Team Leader to join our customer-centric team. The Service Desk is embarking on an exciting time as we look to create lots of new processes, procedures and working practices. The Service Desk will become the Single Point of Contact for all IT related incidents and requests.

You will lead a team of Service Desk Analysts within the Warrington office, with responsibility for tasks related to operational performance and people management. You'll be involved in reviewing and updating Service Desk related processes and procedures, co-ordinating Service Desk Analyst coaching and mentoring. This role will focus on managing Age UK hardware assets across all sites.

The team will provide first touch support for all of Age UK's IT Infrastructure - including desktop, software and mobile device management and Telephony (includes Incidents, Requests and Changes). You'll work on operational and administrative activities associated with the Service Desk - including reports, account management, moves, adds, deletes and changes.

Passionate about providing a brilliant Customer Experience, you'll be proactive in monitoring call volumes, queues and data on a daily basis to help to ensure optimal ticket levels and responsible for ticket logging and allocation within the ITSM tool, setting an example on ticket management.

Data-driven, you'll carry out Service Desk reporting and trend analysis activities and play a key role in managing the Asset database and management process.

This role offers hybrid working, where you'll spend up to 3 days a week on-site in our Warrington office, plus ad-hoc cover as requested, working the rest of the time from home.

Working hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Our core hours are 08:00 until 19:00 with cover required on a rota basis across the Service Desk leadership team.

Must haves:

* Significant experience of operational management of a medium sized remote team on a busy Service Desk.
* Significant people management experience.
* Significant experience of working with and managing Incident Management and Request Fulfilment processes.
* Significant experience of managing hardware assets through their lifecycle (deploy, monitor, service, retire).
* Significant experience of working with an ITSM platform.
* Significant experience of working with a Telephony platform.
* Good understanding of effective Office 365 administration support.
* Good understanding of effective Active Directory/AAD support.
* Good understanding of Intune support.
* Passionate about providing a brilliant User Experience.
* Experience of working in an ITIL environment with a demonstrable knowledge of how ITSM processes are utilised to deliver an outstanding service.

Additional Information

Reporting to the Financial Accountant, the Assistant Financial Accountant will be involved with all financial accounting and treasury activities for the organisation which includes Look Ahead Care & Support and its subsidiaries. Activities include the day to day monitoring and administration of Look Ahead's bank account, posting journals, producing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and assisting with the management of the outsourced payroll function.

Assist with the production of the management accountants and annual financial statements for Look Ahead Care & Support (LACS) and its 3 subsidiary companies.
Assist the Financial Accountant with the annual year end audit process for the organisation including liaison with the external auditors.
Prepare the quarterly VAT return for Look Ahead and Look Ahead Developments.
Post all fixed asset journals, reconciling relevant balance sheet accounts monthly.
Prepare and post monthly journals and complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations for other general ledger accounts as required.
Ensure that Look Ahead's bank accounts are reconciled on a daily basis. Prepare and post daily journals for cash receipts, direct debits, and manual payments.
Assist with the preparation of payroll journals and the reconciliation of relevant payroll accounts e.g. payroll control, PAYE, pension, attachment of earnings etc.
Assist with the monthly payroll processing, including processing of overtime and payroll sample checking.
Assist with the administration of Look Ahead's pension scheme, including processing new joiners and leavers.
Assist the Financial Accountant with the development and day to day management of the SUN financial system across the whole finance team in order to achieve efficiencies and continuous improvement.

Join AWT as our new Environmental Economist & Nature Recovery Land Buyer and you will make a significant contribution to achieving our goals of creating 1000ha of new habitat by 2030, with the Trust purchasing at least 100ha of new land.  

This exciting area of work offers significant opportunities to tackle the climate and ecological crises. AWT has a wealth of ecological expertise and is a leader in local environmental markets having developed BNG and Bat credits and processes.

You will work with the Senior Leadership Team and expert ecologists, to develop the vision for large-scale land purchases and improvements to our existing reserves.  With your background in environmental economics, you will assess the multiple benefits each project could offer and develop business cases that facilitate investment from the emerging green finance markets. Resulting in a prospectus of land purchase opportunities which will guide the Trust’s ambitions up to 2030.

You will also support the Head of Nature Recovery with land purchases, giving you the chance to input into projects as they develop and see theoretical benefits come to life.

Key Tasks:

· Using  AWT’s Green Finance Review Process, carry out assessments of existing reserves and land on the open market, to enable the creation of a fully costed Land Purchase Prospectus, which will inform AWT’s actions for years to come.

· Lead the acquisition process for AWT's first Nature Recovery land purchase - aiming to be completed by the end of 2024.

· Work closely with senior staff to develop AWT’s customer base for credit sales. Initially focusing on Biodiversity Net Gain, bat credits and carbon credits.

The Students’ Union and the International Society merged in autumn 2023. Role Summary

How this role fits into the vision and objectives of Causeway

Refocus is an early intervention domestic abuse programme designed to tackle those at risk of committing domestic abuse towards a partner. The programme closely supports victims and intervenes early in more cases where a partner is identified as displaying abusive or potentially abusive behaviour.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Coordinator within one of our Crime Reduction Teams based in Merseyside. The aim of this project is to support and signpost individuals who meet relevant criteria and show a motivation to change after being identified as being at potential risk of committing low level Domestic Abuse. A key element of this project is that it is survivor focused and looks to address abusive behaviours at their source, at an early intervention phase, via support and education. This means working with both those who have carried out such acts and those who have been made subject to them.

The successful candidate will deliver a high-quality service, constantly focused on achieving positive outcomes for every service user through effective management, training and the development of this crime reduction team across Merseyside, ensuring all service users have a person centred, trauma informed plan, that outlines the goals and targets that the service uses, Navigators and Advocates agree to work toward. You will be working in an agile and responsive team environment and be part of the team providing support and pathways to those who have experienced domestic abuse and work with people displaying potentially abusive or coercive behaviours (perpetrators), offering education and support to promote long term change

• Overseeing the coordination of service user support including referrals, assessments, person-centred support plans, dynamic risk assessments, issue reports, and exits.

• To oversee the ReFocus inbox and efficiently screen VPRF Police Referrals to ensure they are appropriate for the ReFocus project.
• To appropriately escalate inappropriate referrals back to Merseyside Police or other DA organisations, including MARAC.
• Reporting to Merseyside Police and providing project data as requested. Also reporting to the Manager with data as required.
• To manage any day to day operational contact with Merseyside police and liaise with Service Manager and Merseyside Police SPOC on all reports, including monthly reporting.
• To maintain and develop contacts with organisations and individuals regarding domestic abuse to ensure there are sufficient referral pathways set-up for each borough in Merseyside.
• To maintain and develop contact with organisations in a professional manner - including but not limited to Merseyside Police, Local Authorities, Community Partners, and Home Office.
• To attend Panels with other DA organisations to help screen various referrals to ensure they are appropriate for the ReFocus programme – including but not limited to St Helen’s Families in Harmonies Panel.
• To liaise with DMAT on the See the Signs Programme to ensure service users are attending and engaging with the programme in a 12-16 week timeframe.
• To encourage the team to network and develop professional relationships with relevant organisations in the Merseyside area.
• To ensure all KPIS’s and finance reporting is up to date and that service user related issues are recorded and updated regularly and in a timely fashion.
• The coordination of staff including; induction, training, team meetings, volunteers, supervisions, rotas, holidays and absence cover.
• To work with the safeguarding department and Service Manager to ensure that all staff are completing, updating and maintaining risk assessments for all service users and to advise and direct on complex safeguarding cases.

We are looking for a positive people-person with business acumen and the ambition to help take ANT to our next level of impact, delivering on natural capital and private finance for the Lower Chew Landscape Recovery project and Avon Needs Trees’ woodland projects.

Job Purpose
Your legacy will be a tangible impact on slowing down climate change, helping nature recover and creating social impact by leading on landowner and stakeholder engagement for the Lower Chew Landscape Recovery project that will see thousands of acres of local land managed in harmony with nature. You will join a fast-growing organisation that started in 2019 with four volunteers and has grown to a staff team of thirteen (which will double over 2024), over 1,000 volunteers and ownership of 170 acres (soon to be 600 acres) of land that will grow woodlands of over 160,000 trees.

The project
Landscape Recovery is one of Defra’s three environmental land management schemes. Avon Needs Trees has been awarded development phase funding for Landscape Recovery in the Lower Chew. This is a unique opportunity to help co-design nature’s recovery and social impact at a landscape scale. The project will engage existing landowners and managers across over 867 hectares of land in the Lower Chew, an area where good quality but fragmented woodland provides a basis for woodland connectivity and large-scale woodland creation, as part of a mosaic of grassland and woodland habitat. This locally-cherished landscape of rolling farmland on the edge of Bristol is the strategic setting for delivering local environmental and social priorities. Avon Needs Trees woodland projects include two Wiltshire Woodlands, the Great Avon Wood, Ed Woods, and the upcoming Lower Chew Forest.

Main responsibilities
● Join and help to lead our journey to discover the increased impact that private finance can bring to nature’s recovery
● Become our in-house expert on the local natural capital market and other forms of bringing private finance into nature’s recovery, including identifying and building relationships with potential future partners
● Being a strong advocate, internally and externally, for the landscape recovery project and the benefits it will deliver
● Leading on the delivery of the blended finance and business model for landscape recovery project, including:
      ○ Baselining agricultural finances
      ○ Finance model design, development and implementation
      ○ Landowner consultation on blended finance and business model
      ○ Developing a framework for natural capital
      ○ Ensuring legal agreements are compatible with blended finance models
● Work with the wider Avon Needs Trees team to help build a resilient, multi-site charity and undertake any other work necessary to pursue our aims
● As with all Avon Needs Trees roles, contributing to grant writing and fundraising activities

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.

The role

This newly scoped role reports into the CEO and is critical to our ability to create the income we need to keep up with the ever-increasing demand on our services. Primarily, the role has two fundamental elements to it: firstly, working with both a specialist external consultant and the CEO in planning, submitting and reporting on the grants that make up a large proportion of our income; and secondly, the planning and managing of TUR’s traditional (and always fun) annual events. These include celebrity interviews and talks, garden parties and various community events such as the Green Days festival in Chiswick. There are additionally a number of community relationships that add great value to our work and efforts to raise funds which require regular contact. Occasionally, the role will also require presenting or talking to both funders and community groups as we share our magnificent story with them – and ultimately, convince them to support us.

About You

You live within – or know well – West/Central London; you probably need a job with some working flexibility and want to have genuine belief in the cause you’re promoting. You have a CV that demonstrates experience in a comparable role: this could be in another charity, CIC or other Non-Profit organisation. You are comfortable and confident with working autonomously, so you will need to be disciplined; you can articulate and ‘bring to life’ our story through your advanced written and oral communication skills, enabling us to always deliver highly compelling reasons to secure gain financial (and other) support. We're seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Contracts Officer to join our team in Kings Cross. Working across almost all London Boroughs, we strive to provide a warm, safe home, from which our residents can begin their recovery, and our Maintenance Contract Officer plays a vital role in managing our contracted services effectively to enable this. This is a great opportunity for someone who is resourceful, interpersonal and a strong team player.

As a Maintenance Contracts Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring our contracted suppliers provide high quality, reliable services to our supported housing schemes, to ensure clients have safe, good quality accommodation they can call home.

In your role, you will lead on tender and procurement processes to secure contracts with suppliers that deliver reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality services. You will be responsible for ensuring all contracted suppliers hold relevant qualifications, health and safety and, insurance requirements at the point of tender and throughout the contract period.

You will work with the wider maintenance team to respond to queries from our supported housing colleagues related to contracted services.  

About you:

• You’ll bring experience of contract administration and monitoring the performance of contracted suppliers, with the ability to implement and manage supplier performance improvement plans.  
• Your toolkit includes an understanding of customer needs, and how to manage expectations to deliver a professional service, including recognising and managing dissatisfaction. 
• You have strong negotiation skills, actively listen and effectively adapt to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
