Room to Heal is a human rights charity and therapeutic community based in London. Our mission is to support people who have survived or witnessed torture and organised violence to rebuild their lives in exile, through an integrated programme of therapeutic and casework assistance. About the role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fundraising Manager to join our team and lead our fundraising efforts. This is a key role in ensuring we have the resources to continue providing vital support to survivors of torture and human rights violations. As the Fundraising Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, building relationships with key donors, and exceeding fundraising goals. We are predominantly funded by Trusts and Foundations and you will play a very important role in maintaining and expanding this funder base, as well as helping Room to Heal to diversify our income streams.

The Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA) is the national charity for people affected by cleft lip and palate in the United Kingdom.

CLAPA supports people affected by cleft to take control of their journey, connect with others, and use their voices to impact the future of care. Our vision is that no one affected by cleft lip and palate in the United Kingdom will go through their journey alone.

We are seeking a Fundraising Coordinator (Individual Giving) to join our small but dynamic Fundraising team.

The role requires excellent donor care and stewardship skills. All forms of communication will be required including the proactive use of digital channels such as the website and social media platforms.

The Individual Giving Fundraiser will play a vital role in increasing income from our existing supporters. You will support donor acquisition as well as taking the lead on retention of our supporters across multiple channels including cash appeals, regular giving, lottery and in celebration giving. The role will also support the Head of Income in the delivery of a legacy and major donor program.

You will develop and deliver excellent stewardship programmes that drive retention by deepening audience understanding of the challenges that people affected by cleft face and the impact that their donations make. Using data and insight, you’ll deliver compelling campaigns, with people affected by cleft right at the centre. You’ll use creative tools and techniques to demonstrate impact and inspire future action.

About the team 

Shelter North East has been based in Newcastle for over 25 years and we provide advice across 12 local authorities We have an advice team, a legal team, support services which are made up of a Housing First project, along with a DIYSA service and hub administrators. We also have a number of national staff who support our work, such as a Community Fundraiser, Community Organiser and an Involvement Officer. Our services are provided either from our hub base or through outreach locations,  to give communities easier access to support and advice. 

About the role 

As an Engagement Worker, you will  be pivotal in delivering Shelter’s purpose to defend the right to a safe home by enabling those we assist to enforce their housing rights. You will be a key member of our local team, delivering intensive support to a small number of individuals with multiple disadvantage to move from homelessness to sustaining a tenancy. Your role will be fundamental in supporting someone on their journey through Housing First.  Mainly based in the West End of Newcastle, you will support up to 7 clients at any one time, applying the homeless link principles of housing first. 

Also, you will be part of a wider team that promotes and supports housing rights awareness and activism within communities in order to achieve the North East Hub’s local priorities. World Child Cancer is seeking an experienced corporate and philanthropy fundraiser to join our growing team and play a vital role in improving the chances of survival and quality of life of children with cancer in under-resourced countries.

About World Child Cancer

Over 400,000 children worldwide develop cancer each year. Childhood cancer is most often curable, with over 80% survival rate in high income countries. However, in many low-and-middle-income countries survival rates are often 25% or lower.

World Child Cancer’s goal is to help redress that inequity and improve the chances of children with cancer to survive and thrive in under-resourced countries. We currently work with local hospitals in 12 countries in Africa, Asia and Mexico to enable children with cancer to have equal access to the best possible treatment and care through awareness raising on signs of childhood cancer, providing financial, logistical and emotional support to address barriers to access treatment, training of healthcare workers and advocacy.

Overview of the role

This newly created Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager role will play a key part in raising income from companies and philanthropists to help achieve World Child Cancer’s mission.

You will be passionate about enabling children with cancer to have equitable access to quality treatment wherever they are born. Responsibilities include:

Leadership, Strategy and Governance

• To be an active member of the Made in Hackney Senior Leadership Team, working together to galvanise the organisation behind our strategic plan.

Donor stewardship & reporting

Communications

As a Peer Support Worker, you’ll use your skills and experience to work directly with people in mental health crisis, via the telephone, face-to-face or online engagement. This service is a crisis drop-in centre for those experiencing, or at risk of a crisis, delivered in partnership between Solent Mind and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. You’ll work on a rota basis between 4.00pm - 11.30pm.

You’ll need to have personal, lived experience of a mental health issue, as well as experience of working with people with mental health needs, excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of the key difficulties and challenges faced by people on their recovery journey.

My Cancer My Choices is looking for a talented relationship builder, people engager, community maker, and money raiser, to support our continued growth and development. 

Our award-winning charity provides complementary therapies to people living with cancer in Berkshire, empowering them and giving them control and choices over the treatments that will help to impove their physcial and mental wellbeing.  We want to biuld on our current success to expand our work and reach more people who would benefit from our support. 

As our new Supporter Development Officer you will enhance existing relationships in our community, and with our current supporters - as well as build new connections - to secure the financial and other support required to fund our growing services. You will work with individuals, community groups and businesses across our area, as well as alongside our fabulous volunteer fundraising committee who organise numerous highly successful fundraising events each year.   

You will be a fantastic ambassador for our organisation, able to convince others to support our valubable work. You'll join a small but growing staff team, who facilitate the work of our large team of incredible volunteer therapists, meeter greeters and volunteer fundraisers, so you need to be a team player, with great communication skills and attention to detail. 

It's a busy, multi-faceted role, great for someone who likes to carry out a broad range of fundraising activities rather than be pigeon-holed (experience in individual giving, commuity fundraising and/or corporate fundraising would be an advantage). Knowledge of the local area and/or complementary therapies, and an understanding of cancer, could be beneficial.Because a lot of the role will be out and about across the county and beyond, meeting people face to face, you'll also need to be a driver with access to a vehicle for work (reasonable adjusments considered).

This role is a new and important addition to the charity as we drive forward future developments, helping to brighten the lives of children throughout the city. Solent Mind is a partner in the new Primary Level Mental Health Service covering Eastleigh Health Primary Care Network comprising Eastleigh Health Centre, Parkside Family Practice, and St Andrews. This service will enhance the support which GP practices are able to offer their patients with a range of mental health issues through a collaborative and integrative approach.

This service has been developed to enhance the mental health care which the GPs are able to offer their patients through a collaborative and integrative approach across the three practices and associated services.

Arts Emergency is looking for an enthusiastic person to join its dynamic Fundraising & Marketing team. 

This rewarding role involves focusing on communicating with and nurturing a large network of donors. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fundraising environment and a good grasp of general fundraising principles and best practices in fundraising.

The salary is £30.5k pro rata. It is a part-time (21 hours per week), permanent role. The role can be home or office-based (London or Manchester), or hybrid.

• Provide first-line support for all fundraising enquiries and ensure they are followed up appropriately and in a timely manner
• Ensure the fundraising database and Gift Aid declarations are up to date
• Support the Head of Fundraising in preparing income reports
• Send thank you emails and post packs to donors at all levels, and keep the website up to date with donor recognition
• Coordinate donor relationships and user experiences within Arts Emergency for regular and one-off donors and for community fundraisers
• Conduct detailed, ongoing research into new funding opportunities and prospective supporters
• Support the Finance team with income administration
• With the wider team, design a schedule of innovative donor events and coordinate preparation

The organisation

Every year in the UK, around 100 children are diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive cancer that mostly affects children under five. Neuroblastoma UK is a small national charity dedicated to finding a cure for this life-threatening disease - and is seeking a talented Senior Communications Officer to help us raise awareness and profile. 

For 40 years, we’ve funded leading research to develop new, more effective and kinder treatments for children with neuroblastoma. You’ll be joining us at an exciting time for the charity as look to fund further research projects to help fight childhood cancer and save more young lives, and build our profile across the national media and social media channels, using the support of our celebrity patrons and families. 

The role

The Senior Communications Officer is responsible for press liaison, pitching in case studies and news stories about our research to the national press, building relationships with our celebrity patrons and families and creating content for our social media channels. A key part of the role is supporting the fundraising campaigns by helping to draft relevant copy for email campaigns and calls-to-action on social media. 

The charity has a small team, so everyone helps with thanking and banking, database management and administrative tasks. And this varied role gives plenty of scope to share creative ideas to develop our portfolio of community activities and challenge events, use your strong communication skills to support fundraisers and apply your excellent organisational skills to track impact and outcomes.

The role currently reports to a committed Board of Trustees, many of whom have a personal connection to the cause.

Responsibilities

• Developing and managing a communications strategy in support of key awareness raising events, fundraising campaigns, funded research, campaigning and family case studies.

• Writing, pitching and distributing press releases to the national media, building up relationships with key journalists.

• Working with the team to develop, maintain and deliver annual social media calendar     , developing engaging, impactful and relevant content, monitoring comments and engagements.

• Supporting the team in helping to produce email marketing copy for campaigns and in producing and maintaining content for the website.

• Monitoring research studies and progress so that results can be publicised in a timely way.

• Supporting delivery of a programme of events for the charity.

• Being the first port of call and liaison for media, families, supporters and potential supporters who get in touch with the charity via telephone, email and social media.

• Tracking, monitoring and evaluating impact of our media and social media activities and adapting accordingly.

• Supporting in duties outside of your specific team or department as required

Person Specification

• Demonstrable experience of communications and working with the media and social media channels.

• Microsoft Office skills – especially Excel

About the role

Fareham and Gosport Wellbeing service is looking to recruit a PCN Wellbeing Advisor, to be based in PCN surgeries in the Fareham and Gosport Localities.

In this role you will hold a caseload of patients offering assessments & 1-1 sessions to help manage mental health Wellbeing. You will attend meetings to enable patients to get the best service for them and will support people to access groups and activities within our wellbeing centre and the community. You will use your skills and experience to work directly with people with mental health issues one-to-one settings, include telephone, face-to-face and online engagement; this may on occasion include group facilitation.

30 hours per week (to include some evenings and weekends).

About you

You will need to have a good understanding of a mental health issue, as well as experience of working with people with mental health needs, excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of the key difficulties and challenges faced by people on their recovery journey. You will need good IT skills and be able to navigate different IT systems.
