The Senior Philanthropy Officer will sit within the Philanthropy team, providing excellent supporter stewardship to help retain and grow a strong portfolio of donors. Building relationships with supporters who give £5,000 - £20,000 a year, the Senior Philanthropy Officer will also project manage a strand of the team’s strategy, as well as take responsibility for managing our Mid Value Donor Pipeline.
Sitting within a team of 4, the Senior Philanthropy Officer will play a key role in helping to further develop our team strategy – ensuring we remain on top of trends within the sector and prioritise innovative solutions to growing income.
About You
- Working experience in philanthropy fundraising or account management, with demonstrated ability to achieve key results and tasks
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, capable of inspiring, engaging, and informing supporters through various channels

What you’ll be doing
- Report to the Supporter Engagement Manager, working to maximize regular giving income, supporter engagement and digital fundraising opportunities that will help us to meet our income targets while improving donor loyalty and lifetime value.
- Grow regular giving income and supporter engagement through audience-led fundraising campaigns and journeys - across various channels including post, digital and telephone.
- Work with a number of agencies and external partners to create innovative and engaging communications and fundraising propositions to help Centrepoint achieve our objective of supporting young people to leave homelessness behind for good.

The role

As Head of Fundraising, you’ll be heading up an incredible team of 6 dedicated fundraising staff who, along with the support of our volunteers, work tirelessly to support our Hospice. This role is a hands-on, doing role, responsible for the day-to-day running of the fundraising function at the Hospice. About the team
Kinship is in the third year of delivering the first national peer support service for kinship carers in England. We have created 145 peer support groups and supported and trained kinship carers to create and lead their groups in a way which meets their needs.
With a new contract from the Department for Education, we’re now entering a new phase of our service with a focus on:
- creating 90 new sustainable peer support groups in areas of most need over 21 months;
- sustaining and developing the current 145 existing groups; and
- providing support and help to build a sustainable and welcoming community for all peer support groups across England.
This role will mobilise, develop and innovate our existing offer into a new Peer Support Hub with the focus on supporting sustainability and building resilience of peer support groups and their leaders. You will support and build our Kinship peer support community.

The role of the Peer Support Hub Lead is to oversee and take accountability for sustaining kinship peer support groups across England in priority areas as part of a new hub and spoke delivery model.

Key responsibilities will include the following:
- Work with the Board and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to assess capacity gaps across the organisation and how best to fill them.
- Manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle (recruitment, onboarding and offboarding).
- Provide support, guidance, and advice for managers in conducting and concluding employee relations cases, including absence, performance management, disciplinary and grievance cases, ensuring adherence to policy.
- Coordinate and administer company benefits (including health benefit), and research other ways to improve our employee experience.
- Create and manage organisation-wide and individual employee learning programmes.
- Be independent point of contact for entire team for all welfare and professional issues, providing guidance on support available.
- Support Synchronicity Earth’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Working Group.
- Review our staff handbook, and company HR policies and procedures ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect relevant legislation and best practice.
- Be first point of contact with HR & HSE consultants.
- Identify and implement (subject to budget) suitable HR systems that will help to automate Synchronicity Earth’s’ processes and lead to greater self-service of HR matters.
About you
Essential skills and experience
- Level 5 CIPD qualified.
- A proven track record in managing and HR function.
- Experience of developing new policies and procedures for an organisation in line with current best practice.
- Experience of supporting individuals to develop their skill base and careers.

Duties:
- Financial Records Maintenance:
- Responsible for the update of the chart of accounts and reporting tools to maximise reporting functionality.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of financial records on SAGE for the charity.
- Support the Senior Management Team and wider managers in the production of budgets.
- Provide timely financial information to managers for effective budget management.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to take responsibility for the delivery of several key functions within the Data Services team. You will be responsible for the importing of data into the database, providing contact data to JDRF teams to support and promote campaigns, direct mail, community engagement, major donor giving and challenge events, whilst providing database support and guidance to users, including providing training.
You’ll have knowledge of a relational database, excellent attention to detail and be skilled and comfortable in building good working relationships with colleagues and external suppliers.
You’ll join a small but friendly and driven team at an exciting time as we implement our new Data strategy to transform how we use data to engage our supporters.
