It’s therefore an exciting time to join the Legacy and In-Memory fundraising team.
The Legacy and In Memory Stewardship Officer will help to support and deliver our Legacy and In Memory stewardship programme, working closely with the Senior Stewardship Officer to ensure the smooth and effective management of day-to-day activity, reporting, and stewardship campaigns.

Acceptable use of AI:
At Battersea, we value expertise. We recognise each candidate that applies to us will have a range of expertise they can offer us, so we want to hear about this in your own words. We understand the support that generative artificial intelligence (AI) software can offer but it can also lead to numerous applications presenting as generic and impersonal. This makes it difficult to gain understanding of your unique experience.

If you require the use of AI software to aid in completing your application, we ask you use the generative responses as a prompt for writing your answers and avoid copying and pasting. Teens Unite is leading the way in youth cancer support.
We’re an energetic, ambitious and dynamic charity improving the lives of 13-24-year-olds living with, and beyond, cancer. We’re not here to cure cancer. We’re here to empower young people to rebuild their lives and thrive beyond a diagnosis by taking part in our specialist activities, programmes and residential stays.
This is an incredibly exciting time to join our team. Demand for our support is growing rapidly, with a 48% increase in young people registering over the last 12 months.
As we grow, we’re embarking on our most ambitious chapter yet: building the first purpose-built retreat in England for young people overcoming cancer. This pioneering, first-of-its-kind development will transform the support available to young people for generations to come.
We’re looking for an experienced, ambitious and creative Trusts & Grants Manager to play a vital role in making this vision a reality. Combining exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to develop standout, compelling pitches and applications, you will secure vital funding for both this transformational project and our existing services, to ensure we reach our ambition of providing 30,000 opportunities for teenagers and young adults over the next decade.
Who you are:
You thrive on building relationships and are a natural storyteller with a strong strategic instinct - someone who understands what matters to a funder and can build genuine connections between their priorities and the work, impact and ambitions of Teens Unite.
You understand that a successful funding application is never simply about changing a few words in an existing proposal. You have a talent for developing persuasive, engaging and individually tailored applications and reports that stand out and inspire funders to invest in our work.
You’ll research every opportunity, take the time to understand each funder’s priorities and motivations, and build meaningful relationships that keep Teens Unite front of mind when funding opportunities arise. You’ll adapt the tone, emphasis and case for support accordingly - while always retaining Teens Unite’s own language, personality and brand.
You’ll have a strong track record of securing funding and building a successful pipeline and recognise that the relationship with a funder doesn’t end when the funds are received. You’ll take pride in nurturing relationships, demonstrating the impact of their support and building long-standing partnerships with the potential to grow over time.
You’ll have experience of exceeding fundraising targets and taking ownership of the complete funding journey –from identifying opportunities and developing compelling applications, through to managing grants, demonstrating impact and securing future or repeat funding where appropriate.
You’ll take real ownership of delivering tangible results, bringing fresh ideas, ambition and a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new opportunities.
The role:
As a self-funded charity, grant income is a vital and growing area of fundraising at Teens Unite, supporting both our current service delivery of activities, programmes and residential breaks, and our ambitious plans for the future.
Teens Unite currently raises £200,000 per annum from grants and trusts, and we are looking to grow this year on year through developing and delivering an ambitious grants fundraising strategy, which will support Teens Unite’s current service delivery and work towards raising the remaining 50% needed of our £6.5million capital appeal to build England’s first purpose-built retreat for young people overcoming cancer.
This isn’t about simply stepping into a bid writing role, it’s about thinking creatively to retain existing funding relationships and seeking new opportunities with the ability to balance ambition with integrity, ensuring funding opportunities genuinely align with organisational priorities and values.
We need you to:
- Take ownership of Teens Unite’s trusts, foundations and grant income programme, working towards agreed annual income targets across programme, core and capital funding.
- Develop and deliver an ambitious trust and grants fundraising strategy to grow income year on year, across programme, core and capital funding
- Research prospective trusts, foundations and grant-making organisations and identify opportunities that align with Teens Unite’s work and ambitions.
- Write compelling funding applications, proposals and cases for support
- Develop project budgets and funding packages in collaboration with colleagues
- Build, nurture and maintain long-term relationships with funders
- Manage grant agreements, reporting requirements and payment schedules
- Produce engaging, evidence-led impact reports that clearly demonstrate how funding has been used and the difference it has made
- Monitor income performance against agreed targets and maintain accurate fundraising records and pipeline reports
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to maximise the impact of funding secured
What we offer:
When joining Teens Unite, you can expect:
- Annual performance-related bonus opportunity
- Flexible and hybrid working arrangements
- 33 days annual leave pro rata (inclusive of Bank Holidays)
- Christmas office closure
- Optional company-contributed pension scheme
- Recently refurbished offices and free on-site parking
- To be part of an inclusive and dynamic work environment with a dedicated and growing team
- Responsibility and ownership of an income stream that is fundamental to Teens Unite’s growth and future
- Support in your personal and professional development, including access to training
- The chance to make a real-life difference in the lives of young people

- Demonstrable experience securing income from trusts and foundations
- Experience of securing capital funding, and multi-year, core and programme funding Strong relationship building skills

At the heart of everything we do is our purpose: to ensure patients benefit from the highest possible standards of care in anaesthesia, pain medicine and perioperative care. Our members support patients through some of the most significant and vulnerable moments of their lives. It’s our privilege, as their professional body, to help them grow and develop throughout every stage of their careers and provide the best possible care.
Our 2022–2027 Strategy has provided a clear sense of direction, and we’ve made significant progress in strengthening our voice, services and organisational foundations. As we develop our next strategy, we have an opportunity to think ambitiously about how we serve and engage our members, and mobilise their expertise to improve patient care and shape the future of the NHS.
The Role
This is where our new Director of Membership and Engagement will play a pivotal leadership role. We’re looking for an experienced senior leader who knows how to build a compelling membership proposition and create an organisation that its members genuinely value. You will bring a strong track record of improving member satisfaction, engagement, retention and value, ideally within a membership organisation or professional body.
Using data, insight and segmentation, you’ll shape a distinctive and responsive proposition for members at every stage of their careers. You’ll also bring commercial confidence and sound judgement. As well as enhancing RCoA’s value proposition for clinicians at every stage of their career, you’ll oversee a purposeful and impactful external communications function so we can give our members a strong and influential voice on the national stage.
Just as importantly, you’ll be a collaborative and credible leader. You’ll work effectively with senior colleagues, elected members, trustees and other stakeholders; build strong relationships with our Executive Team, President and Council; and inspire a directorate with a critical role in shaping the College’s future.
Timeline
Closing date: Monday 19th October 2026

In July 2026, following almost two and a half years of work and nearly two decades as a Faculty, we became the College of Intensive Care Medicine: an independent charity with our own Board of Trustees, governance and voice. Reaching this point has been a significant achievement. Now comes the next chapter: building an organisation that is genuinely independent, financially sustainable and equipped to lead the specialty for the future.
This role sits at the heart of that transformation.
Organisationally, we are creating a College from what was previously a faculty function – establishing our own culture, values, policies, systems and operating model while managing a careful and constructive separation from the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA), our long-standing host and continuing close partner.
Financially, we begin with an established income base, derived predominantly from subscriptions and examinations. The Executive Director will lead the development of a more diverse and resilient financial model, strengthening income and ensuring long-term sustainability without compromising our charitable purpose, governance or commitment to members.
For our people, we need to build our own workforce and operating model while supporting colleagues through a genuine change in employer and organisational identity. This will require clarity, empathy and strong leadership – alongside an unwavering focus on maintaining the services that almost 5,000 members rely on.
THE ROLE
We are therefore looking for an Executive Director who has successfully led organisations through significant transformation; who understands how to build financial sustainability and diversify income; and who can bring people with them through complex and meaningful change.
You will bring the strategic and financial credibility to earn the confidence of our Trustees and partners at the RCoA, alongside the emotional intelligence and collaborative leadership needed to unite staff, members and the wider clinical community behind the College’s future.
This is a rare opportunity to shape a new professional College at the moment of its creation: establishing its identity, culture and operating model while building the foundations for long-term independence and impact.

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people affected by violence, exploitation and harm? Do you have the ability to build trusted relationships with young people during some of the most challenging moments in their lives?
If so, St Giles Trust is looking for a A&E and Custody Mentor to join a newly established community team supporting children and young people aged 11–25 who are at risk of, involved in, or affected by serious youth violence across the West Midlands.
About St Giles Trust
An ambitious, well-established charity that helps people facing adversity to find jobs, homes and the right support they need. You will build trusted relationships with children and young people and their families, helping them to increase their safety, develop resilience and make positive changes that reduce the risk of future harm.
You will also undertake in-reach work within hospital settings, including A&E departments, as well as community outreach across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.
What we are looking for
- Experience of working with children and young people affected by exploitation, gang involvement, county lines, serious youth violence or related vulnerabilities.
- Experience building positive relationships with women and young girls and their families and supporting them to achieve positive outcomes.
- Experience of community-based outreach and engaging vulnerable young people in a range of settings.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and its application when working with high-risk young people.
- Knowledge of the issues facing this client group, such as gangs, knife crime, social exclusion and isolation, child criminal exploitation, adverse childhood experiences and trauma.
- Understanding of risk assessment and risk management processes.
For this role, we are actively seeking applicants with personal lived experience similar to those of the target client group. An Enhanced Adult and Child Workforce with Child Barred List DBS check is required for this role.
In return, you can expect generous leave allowance, staff pension, flexible working, a mentoring programme, an advice and counselling service, clinical therapist sessions, life insurance (4 x annual salary), season ticket loan, employee perks programme, eye care voucher and much more.
We are an equity and inclusion confident employer. UKHarvest is an award-winning food rescue and education charity that tackles two major challenges at the same time: food waste and food insecurity. Founded in 2016, UKHarvest rescues surplus nutritious food from growers, farmers and suppliers that would otherwise go to waste and redistributes it to support people and communities across the South of England and London. But it doesn't stop there. UKHarvest also teaches people how to make the most of that food through cooking, nutrition and food-waste prevention programmes, helping families develop the skills and confidence to eat well for less and waste less at home.
UKHarvest's commitment to combining food, education and community is perhaps best demonstrated through the Nourish Hub in Shepherd's Bush, West London. Opened in 2022, the Hub was established as a welcoming community space where people can access nutritious meals, practical support, educational opportunities and social connection under one roof. The Nourish Hub has received local and national recognition for its social and environmental impact.
Building on this successful model, UKHarvest has recently opened the Nourish Hub Café in Bognor Regis. The café reflects the same ethos that has shaped the organisation since its founding: using good food as a catalyst for positive change and building up community that surrounds it through accessible food education and affordable, healthy food.
UKHarvest is now entering a new phase. Founder Yvonne Thomson has stepped away from the organisation.
