Employability Manager
We're currently looking for an Employability Manager to join our team at St. John's this year.
You'll lead the design and delivery of our college-wide employability programme, ensuring our autistic learners and those with additional needs are prepared for meaningful work opportunities. From developing enterprise projects and supporting our Supported Internship programme, to building partnerships with local employers, you'll play a key role in shaping aspirational outcomes for our learners.
You'll also manage a small team of Employability Coordinators, collaborate with curriculum and transitions staff, and embed employability across the learner journey—from skill-building to successful job placements.
This role would particularly suit someone who has:
- Experience working with SEND learners in an educational or employment setting
- A strong understanding of inclusive employment and supported internship models
- Knowledge of the Gatsby benchmarks and Preparing for Adulthood framework
- A background in careers advice, experience working in Further Education (FE) colleges, or demonstrated experience supporting young people with SEND
- Excellent partnership-building and project management skills
- Line management experience and a collaborative leadership style

We stand with autistic children and young people, champion their rights and create opportunities.
the3million is the largest grassroots organisation for EU citizens in the UK, formed after the 2016 referendum to protect the rights of people who have made the UK their home.
Our work ranges from organising EU citizens’ communities and informing people about their rights, to holding the Government to account on the implementation of the Withdrawal Agreement and advocating for social justice.
We are looking for an experienced and values-driven Community Organiser to lead the delivery of EU Voices, a project aimed at strengthening EU citizens’ communities in the UK through capacity building of civil society organisations (CSOs) and delivering a programme of engagement events and campaigns directly with EU citizens.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about social justice and migrants’ rights, able to plan, deliver and evaluate community engagement events, while also playing a key role in liaising with CSOs and delivering a programme of capacity building activities, enabling networks to be more effective and strategic in making change happen. The role requires strong experience in community organising, participatory approaches and working with diverse, grassroots-led CSOs.
Key responsibilities
1. Community organising and civic engagement
- Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of the project’s community organising strategy, working closely with the3million’s other Community Organisers to deliver a cohesive programme of opportunities.
- Plan, organise and facilitate listening sessions with EU citizens’ communities in partnership with local grassroots organisations.
- Deliver outreach activities at cultural, educational and community events, including stalls promoting the project and voter registration drives.
- Design and facilitate intercultural dialogue events that build bridges between EU citizens and British residents.
- Ensure all community engagement activities are inclusive, participatory and grounded in lived experience.
- Work with the Communications Manager to effectively promote the project in the media and the3million’s website, newsletter and social media as appropriate.
2. Capacity building for CSOs
- Lead the delivery of capacity building activities for EU citizens’ organisations, coordinating with fundraising, communications and anti-oppressive practices training providers.
- Work closely with grassroots CSOs providing one to one guidance and support, including on organising local engagement events.
- Support CSOs to deliver and implement community organising plans and deliver local outreach and campaigning events.
3. Coordination and project management
- Act as the main point of contact for the3million within the EU Voices consortium, working closely with the Project Coordinator and partners.
- Coordinate activities to ensure coherence, timely delivery and alignment with project objectives and indicators.
- Lead on project planning, internal coordination meetings, and risk management.
- Support monitoring, evaluation and learning processes, including the collection of qualitative and quantitative data from community activities.
4. Stakeholder engagement
- Work with the Head of Policy and Advocacy to ensure community insights and grassroots priorities inform and lead the3million’s advocacy.
- Support the3million’s policy-focused webinars and engagement with UK and EU decision-makers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with a wide network of external stakeholders including grassroots community leaders and CSOs.
5. Reporting and documentation
- Lead on the3million’s narrative reporting for EU funders, including event reports, progress updates and evidence of impact.
- Ensure accurate documentation of activities, participant engagement and outcomes in line with EU funding and visibility requirements.
- Support the production of case studies, testimonials and stories of impact from participating CSOs.
6. General responsibilities
- Represent the views of the3million at events, conferences and in the media, as appropriate.
- Provide assistance in other areas of the3million’s work as and when deemed necessary by the CEO.
Person specifications
Knowledge and experience:
- Significant experience (minimum 3 years) in community organising, grassroots mobilisation or community development.
- Proven experience working directly with EU citizens or other minoritised, racialised or migrant communities.
- Strong understanding of participatory, rights-based and inclusive organising approaches.
- Experience coordinating complex projects with multiple stakeholders and partners.
- Experience of working with people from different backgrounds, including different language skills, cultures/ethnicities, ages, etc. Comfortable interacting with people who hold different opinions with a view to build mutual understanding and solidarity.
Skills:
- Excellent facilitation skills (experience of running workshops, events, stakeholder meetings)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing funding reports, ability to write clear emails with compelling calls to action and the confidence to speak in public settings
- Familiarity with anti-oppression practices (which can include anti-racism, co-liberatory and intersectional principles) and ability to apply them in practice (centering the voices of racialised, minoritised and under-represented community members in project design and implementation)
- Strong administrative skills, time management and attention to detail, including the ability to set meeting agendas, keep records of volunteers/partners and to follow up on agreed actions

Marketing & Communications Delivery

Overview
Involve Community Services is a local infrastructure charity that supports the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sectors of Bracknell Forest and Wokingham Borough. We offer development and governance support, funding advice, grant writing, volunteer and trustee recruitment, and a comprehensive training programme. We also run several well-being projects that include Community Navigation, Cancer Support and Social Prescribing within Wokingham Borough.
Role summary
The Community Development Worker will work across Wokingham Borough to assist small charities, community groups and social enterprises who have a health and well-being focus, as well as those organisations who aid residents with protected characteristics. They will assist organisations to find solutions to existing challenges and overcome barriers to optimise their delivery, e.g., through sourcing volunteers, committee members, funding opportunities, forming simple governance structures, and seeking premises.
The post holder will advocate for members of the community with protected characteristics as well as those whose voices are seldom heard, and act as a voice for marginalised groups, to aid inclusive decision making and delivery of services across the borough. The postholder will develop a broad, informed view of the local Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector and will communicate this to colleagues within Involve, the wider Friendship Alliance (a collective of charities who have a shared interest in addressing loneliness and social isolation), and to statutory partners. The postholder will also identify gaps in provision and help to develop or enhance existing partnerships so to optimise their impact to residents.

We are recruiting for an Out of School Childcare Leader to join our Out of School Childcare team. The role is for a Fixed Term Contract until July 2026.
You will be responsible for leading and delivering a programme of Ofsted registered Breakfast and After School Clubs, offering a range of free play opportunities as well as structured programmes. The post holder will lead a team of playworkers and volunteers, to ensure that the service provided is of high quality and appropriate for the varying children who attend.
This role requires someone with Level 2/3 qualification in childcare, play work or equivalent or be willing to undertake this level of training upon employment.
You must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a childcare setting.
Working Hours: 25 hours per week, Monday-Friday 7.15am to 9am and 2.45pm to 6pm Term time only with optional role in holidays.

·Where necessary, to administer First Aid for children who have had an accident, as well as medication for children with health issues, ensuring appropriate training has been completed beforehand.

The Front of House Receptionists work as a flexible team. They complement each other and support the wider team in both event management and operation. The post requires a broad knowledge of the Society’s activities in general, plus a more detailed understanding of the work handled by the various departments of the Society, and its tenants. Close attention to the weekly programme of activities is critical, together with awareness of unpublicised activities and of future events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reception
- Ensuring that Reception is always staffed between 9.00am and 5:30pm on weekdays, in conjunction with the fellow Front of House Receptionist on duty and other members of the Facilities team.
- Receiving visitors to the Society arriving at Reception, ensuring that security procedures are followed, and directing them as necessary to the appropriate rooms. Assisting visitors with enquiries and requests; calling on the appropriate members of staff when necessary.
- Event support
- Supporting Society and external events outside of normal working hours involving either early morning starts or late evening finishes. Duties will include welcoming and supporting external event organisers to ensure that the Society delivers a high quality of service to its customers. Overtime will be paid for these additional hours, and sufficient notice will be provided
- Handling of enquiries and recording bookings for the Society’s own meetings and events on the events database.
- Switchboard
- Operating the telephone switchboard, receiving, and disseminating calls helpfully, quickly, and efficiently.
- Administration
- Recording new staff, tenants, and volunteers onto all relevant contact lists.
- Ensuring that the Society’s Safety Policy is read and understood, and all relevant contact details are recorded on the contact database.

- Sorting and franking the external post in an accurate and timely manner for the daily collection.

- Act as Fire Warden. Training will be provided. Deputising for the Fire Incident Coordinator to always ensure an adequate corps of certified Fire Wardens. Undertaking weekly building checks ensuring compliance with fire safety.
Salary and Benefits:
This is a full time, permanent contract. The salary range for this post is £27,675-£28,550 per annum, pro rata depending on experience and qualifications. The post is based in Kensington, London.

- Work with communications teams to support promotional activity, including newsletters and email campaigns.
- Track event metrics, gather feedback and prepare reports.
- Attend external events and exhibitions to promote the organisation.
- Provide occasional out-of-hours or weekend support for specific events or campaigns.
Programme delivery
- Support the delivery of business support programmes
- Manage administrative processes, including contracts and payments.
- Track programme activity and prepare monitoring and evaluation reports.
Partnerships and funding support
- Support partnership activity aligned with organisational strategy, including youth engagement, digital innovation, community development and embedding co-operative values.
- Gather evidence, case studies and data for funding applications and funder reporting.
- Maintain accurate records and processes related to funding and partnership activity.

- Experience of running small events, both online and in person.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail and administrative capability.
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and external partners.
- Highly developed IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable:
- An understanding of, or interest in, values-driven organisations.
- Experience supporting grant-funded programmes.
- Interest in areas such as youth engagement, ethical tech, community development or climate action.
- Experience using project management tools such as Asana or Trello.
