About the role

The postholder will lead budgeting, forecasting and management information for our operations departments, manage an FP&A Assistant Manager, and partner with budget holders to drive effective financial management and support strategic decision making. You’ll also play a key role in managing our building lifecycle capital investment programme, developing business cases and reporting for funders.

The Role

West Midlands Heritage Trust is seeking a skilled and motivated Finance Officer to join our small, dedicated team working to safeguard historic buildings across the West Midlands. Essentials:

• Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent.

My role is part-time Accounts Payable Assistant on a temporary to permanent basis. The role will include:
- Accurately maintain the organisation's Accounts Payable ledger, ensuring invoices are processed in a timely manner.
- Ensure purchase invoices and all expenses have been properly authorised and coded in line with company policy.
- Ensure that new suppliers are set up on internal systems.
- Ensure that staff expenses are processed efficiently.
- Weekly payment runs ensuring director approval.
- Process international payments, refunds and other transactions.
- Manage supplier accounts paid by direct debit.
- Use of internal systems and Excel.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank accounts.

In order to succeed, you will need previous experience with accounts payable, as well as strong systems skills.

The Role

As a Casual Learning Officer, you will support the delivery of our outdoor learning programmes.

Working alongside our inspiring Learning Team, you’ll plan and deliver school sessions and other activities to visitors of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, providing inclusive, fun and high-quality experiences across nature, heritage and wellbeing. You’ll have the opportunity to build varied experience in a range of informal settings, such as drop-in events, festivals and out in the parks’ beautiful habitats.

You may also be offered opportunities to undertake a range of administrative and customer support duties, including responding to enquiries from the public, uploading event information online and processing booking transfer and cancellation requests.

About You

To be considered as a Casual Learning Officer, you will need:

• Proven experience delivering outdoor environmental education to school groups
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver sessions with energy and enthusiasm to diverse audiences
• In depth knowledge of ecology, natural heritage and outdoor learning
• Strong organisational skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills

We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our vibrant and friendly finance department. You will be responsible for supporting the Activities Finance Coordinator with the smooth running of the Accounts Payable and Receivable function and other duties within the activities finance team.
