This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified bookkeeper to join our small staff team in a part-time Finance Manager role. As a successful local charity with a committed and engaged board of Trustees, you'll be helping support young people with their mental health and emotional wellbeing.

You'll be responsible for managing the charity's day-to-day financial matters, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded, maintaining compliance with statutory and charity requirements and tracking specific project funds so the organisation can report transparently to donors and trustees. We're looking for someone with experience of charity finance management, who is self-motivated and focused, and able to work independently. 

The role is available either as paye or on a freelance basis at £25 per hour. It's mainly remote working, with occasional time spent in the Twickenham office. 

Responsibilities

• Dealing with all the day-to-day financial activities of the charity (the charity uses QuickBooks). In particular, processing and setting up for payment, supplier invoices and expense claims; issuing invoices for services or grants; recording donations, fundraising proceeds, and grant receipts, and reconciling all bank accounts, petty cash, and credit card statements. The recording in QuickBooks involves fund accounting, as some income is restricted and some is unrestricted.
• Managing and recording the transactions from outsourced payroll and pension providers.
• Production of Quarterly management accounts using an Excel template.
• Production of cash flow forecasts.
• Attendance at Business Committee Meetings on Zoom 6 times a year.
• Preparing the required schedules and liaison with the external Independent Examiner, in order for them to sign-off the charity’s statutory accounts in line with the Charities SORP.
• Generating financial analyses required by grant-makers regarding the utilisation of money granted by them to the charity.
• Processing gift aid claims.
• Working with the Manager and Treasurer to prepare the charity’s annual budget.
• Supporting the Manager with the management of any capital projects. This may include production of budgets and forecasts and management of specific grants relating to those projects.
• Ad hoc financial support to the Manager and Treasurer.

The Shipwrecked Fishermen and Mariners’ Royal Benevolent Society – “The Shipwrecked Mariners” for short – was founded in 1839 and operates throughout the British Isles. Our primary purpose is to provide financial help to fishermen, merchant mariners and their dependants, both retired and of working age, who are in need. The Society has over 1,200 regular beneficiaries and receives over 600 applications for assistance each year.

To help us continue to provide a great service to mariners and their families, we have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us in the role of Grants Officer.

Our grants provide practical support for individuals and families that are experiencing severe financial distress and help them stabilise their situation during times of crisis. All our grants are means tested and exclusively focussed on those on low incomes (with little or no savings). A significant number of our grants are provided to those in retirement, however we also support those who are unable to work because of accident, illness, disability, or for compassionate reasons, as well as those who struggling to find employment. Our grants are used to cover a wide range of needs but are primarily aimed at helping people maintain a reasonable and dignified standard of living. We also help those who are struggling with debts as well as providing immediate support to the dependants of seafarers who have died at sea or during accidents ashore.

We are offering this role on a full-time basis, with a minimum of 2 days per week (Tues and Weds) working from our Chichester office, but potential for home working at other times. Some travel will be required for the role, including occasional overnight stays.

To be our ideal candidate, you will be an experienced, self-starting administrator with excellent communication and IT skills and a great eye for detail. Headlines Craniofacial Support is a UK-based charity providing information, advice and support to individuals and families affected by craniosynostosis and other rare craniofacial conditions.  The charity works closely with professional partners, including the 5 NHS Designated Specialist Craniofacial Units across the UK.

Craniosynostosis is a condition where two or more of the plates in the skull fuse prematurely, requiring medical support from a young age. Around 350 children are born with craniosynostosis each year in the UK.

Established by group of parents in 1993, Headlines now has over 2,500 members.  Within our charity offer we send out regular newsletters and an annual magazine, Headline News.  We also support families to connect through events such as an annual Family Weekend, conferences and Days Out, and provide information through our helpline and access to psychological support.  We have private social media groups and specific groups within our membership who meet regularly including Cranio Dads, Young Persons Network and a Teens Group.

Other information

Headlines hosts events and fundraising activities throughout the whole of the UK. The role also provides strategic and operational leadership for Leadership Challenge, Villiers Park’s national student outreach and social action programme. Working closely with the Head of Programmes, Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Communications and Fundraising teams, and external partners, the postholder supports the development of digital innovation, programme resourcing and Leadership Challenge activity to enhance reach, impact and quality.

Leading a team of 4, the Head of Group FP&A sits at the heart of Group and Global Finance, and leads Group MI, Reporting, Planning and Forecasting across the organisation. Associate Director of Fundraising and Communications

Are you a commercially minded leader and inspiring people manager? Are you at a professional level where you’re ready to deliver a step-change for a leading and major Welsh cancer charity?

We’re looking for an Associate Director of Fundraising and Communications who is primed to play a major role as the driving force behind a new era of income growth and brand influence in the Third Sector.

Working 35 hours per week in a hybrid role you can work effectively from home with a willingness to regularly network across Wales and attend Cardiff City Centre Head Office as the nature of the role requires.

The Role

You’re a people focused leader with a passion for driving transformation to spearhead our income growth and elevate our brand. This is a high impact, critical and senior leadership role where you’ll have direct responsibility for financial performance and leading integrated functions to ensure no opportunity for impact is missed.

You’ll balance high-level strategic leadership with a hands-on approach to delivery. From identifying and converting high-value corporate partnerships to leading a multi-disciplinary team across fundraising and marketing, your work will directly fund essential cancer services across Wales. You’ll use data-driven insights to sharpen our performance and generate income to make a difference to our communities across Wales.

You'll have 4 direct reports and oversee a headcount of circa 20 and have a seat with the Senior Leadership Team working closely with all our Directors and department Heads.

Reporting into the Director of Income Generation, Marketing and Communication, you’ll take ownership of a significant portfolio. Your mission is clear: transition our fundraising into a more commercially focused, insight-driven operation—with a specific mandate to build a powerhouse corporate and high-value income stream.

• Empowering & Senior Leadership: You’ll manage and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and clear accountability. You’ve experience operating at a senior level with clear accountability for budgets, forecasts, and ROI.
• Corporate Powerhouse & Integrated Strategy: You’ll build and convert a high-quality pipeline of corporate partnerships capable of generating consistent five and six-figure streams. You’ve a background in leading combined fundraising, marketing, and communications functions within complex environments.
• Brand Amplification & Sector Experience: You’ll ensure our marketing and communications are strategically aligned to support income generation and strengthen our reach and impact across Welsh communities. You’ve ideally a deep understanding of the Third Sector and the Welsh political landscape, specifically regarding how cancer services are funded and delivered.
• Performance, Insight & Team Development: You’ll move beyond gut feeling using data and market intelligence to drive ROI, manage robust forecasts. Reporting directly to the Director of Income Generation, Marketing & Communications you’ve a natural ability to lead and nurture high-performing, agile teams who share and live out our values through behaviour.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Proven Track Record: You’ve delivered significant income growth, specifically within corporate or high-value fundraising environments.

• Senior Gravitas & Influencing Power: You’ve experience operating at a senior level with full accountability for financial performance and budgets. You demonstrate highly developed skills to build credibility and influence at a senior/Board level.

• Commercial Sharpness: You can spot an opportunity, build the case, and close the deal with the ability to spot and convert income opportunities at pace.
• Strategic Integration & Data-Driven: You’re experienced in leading multi-disciplinary teams across fundraising, marketing, and communications and proficient in using insight and data to drive decision-making
• Welsh Context: A gained understanding of the Welsh political landscape and how cancer services are funded/delivered in Wales.

• Communication & Values: You’re a confident, engaging communicator for diverse audiences. You share our values and role model them through your behaviour as a compass in how you and your team work.

We are looking for a Communications Manager to play a key role in shaping and delivering communications and marketing activity across supporter and corporate audiences.

We are based in London and support young people via our direct delivery programmes. We take what we learn from our work and use it to inspire businesses across the UK to do more to improve social mobility (making sure people from all backgrounds get fair opportunities).

We do this by:

· Running large events like The UK Social Mobility Awards to celebrate companies doing it well.

· Organising Social Mobility Day to raise awareness.

· Publishing The Social Mobility Podcast and Social Mobility List to share ideas and highlight role models.

This role sits within the Marketing Communications team and supports the Head of Communications to deliver audience-centred communications and marketing that increases visibility, engagement and impact.

You will lead day-to-day marketing and communications activity, developing audience journeys and delivering targeted, campaigns, with a strong focus on email, digital content and social media.

You will work closely with colleagues across the charity to ensure marketing effectively supports organisational priorities.

We are looking for an experienced leader from the arts, cultural, or voluntary sector with a strong track record in financial management, fundraising, organisational development, and governance.

Position: Executive Director/Co-CEO

Location: Manchester/Hybrid (3 days per week at the office in Hulme, Manchester)

Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland is more than a Charity we are a lifeline to older people in our local communities. As part of our mission to support older people in their everyday lives, we provide a wide range of services, including our shops. 

Every item sold across our shops helps an older person in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. We are looking for a commercially minded, inspiring Head of Retail to lead our charity’s retail function, a portfolio of 29 shops, a growing online operation with an ambitious plan to turn the retail success into real impact for older people.

This is a Senior Leadership role reporting to our Executive Director. You will set and deliver our retail strategy, grow income across high-street, out-of-town and superstore-style sites, develop our furniture and ecommerce operations, and lead a large, dedicated team of managers, drivers, maintenance staff and volunteers. If you can combine commercial drive with genuine care for the people you lead, we would love to hear from you.

What you’ll do

• Deliver and continuously develop our retail strategy, growing income and keeping the function commercially resilient and fit for the future.

• Identify and develop opportunities for growth — including new high-street, out-of-town and superstore-style sites — backed by evidenced business cases.

• Build our furniture retail strategy across the city, county and wider region, and grow ecommerce income across multiple online platforms such as eBay.

• Lead, coach and motivate your managers and teams, ensuring every shop is well presented with excellent customer service.

• Turn around underperforming shops and oversee income generators including Gift Aid, scratch cards and the Grand Raffle.

• Drive efficiency across the function, making smart use of technology and AI to support staff and volunteers.

What we’re looking for

• Strong retail experience at senior management level, with proven sales leadership and the ability to inspire others.

• Commercial and business awareness, with the ability to set and work to financial targets, budgets and plans.

• A track record of developing and delivering retail strategy and growing a retail estate, including new formats.

• Experience of identifying and turning around underperforming shops, and of managing performance.

• Experience of leading and developing both staff and volunteers, with excellent IT and communication skills.

• Someone compassionate and empathetic — who leads with kindness as well as drive, treating staff, volunteers and customers with respect.

• Desirable: not-for-profit sector experience, furniture reuse and logistics, growing ecommerce across more than one platform, and using technology and AI to improve ways of working.

• A full driving licence is required, with the ability to gain business insurance.
