About the role

Human rights are under attack across the UK and globally. Amnesty UK's response is to build the depth of community leadership and breadth of public action that is needed to resist anti-rights agendas and Make Human Rights a Vote Winner.

The Community Organising team builds local power to protect and strengthen human rights. We work with hundreds of local, university, school, and thematic network groups across all nations and regions of the UK.

As organisers we build lasting relationships with activists and rightsholders, train and coach leaders, develop people-power campaign strategies, and coordinate partnerships to build an effective movement for human rights.

The Community Organiser - Local Activism plays a central role in growing Amnesty UK's nationwide movement of local groups, activists and supporters who are building place-based power to protect and strengthen human rights.

Working as part of a close-knit team, you will support local activists to strengthen and start local Amnesty groups that build place-based power and engage in campaigns to resist authoritarianism, protect everyday rights and speak out on international crises. You will identify and build strong relationships with leaders, supporting them to grow vibrant local groups and coalitions, lead activist-led or Amnesty UK priority campaigns, and build political relationships.

You'll combine organising, campaigning, facilitation, partnership-building and strategic thinking to ensure people-powered change is at the heart of the Amnesty UK movement.

Due to this role including direct work with children and young people, it will be subject to safer recruitment checks, including a criminal record check.

This role typically needs to spend 1 day per week visiting local groups to fulfil the responsibilities of the role, and at least 1 day per month in the London office.

High Value fundraising will play a central role in making that vision a reality, giving fundraisers the opportunity to build relationships with major donors, trusts and partners around one of the most significant and ambitious areas of Crisis' work.

About the role

We are looking for an ambitious, tenacious new business fundraiser to join our team and win new high-value corporate partnerships that support our housing delivery strategy, the delivery and growth of our Skylight services, and national policy and campaigning work.

As our Senior National New Partnerships Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, cultivating and winning six and seven figure new corporate partnerships across priority sectors. This is a role for a senior new business specialist who thrives on building strong relationships externally and winning big.

You’ll build and convert relationships with major corporate prospects and create compelling commercial, and strategic high-value propositions that are tailored to your prospects’ priorities and strategies. You’ll identify opportunities from high-profile COTY partnerships to strategic collaborations, that unlock value for both corporate partners and Crisis.

This role will work closely with colleagues across Crisis to identify innovative new partnership opportunities, develop and drive forward your sector strategies, influence senior stakeholders, and bring ambitious opportunities to life.

You will be part of a go-getting partnerships team and brand, marketing and fundraising department with ambitious income growth plans. This exciting role is vital to helping us achieve our ambitions.

About you

• An experienced high-value corporate new business fundraiser and relationship builder.
• We’re looking for someone who is a competitive and a self-starter, who can navigate and influence a complex organisation, distil information and package up new high-value propositions at pace.
• Specialist in building and cultivating multiple corporate prospects (from cold) through your pipeline, including COTYs, corporate foundations, strategic partnerships and cause-related marketing.
• Experienced at identifying, pitching and successfully securing six and seven figure corporate partnerships
• Someone who loves building external relationships, always seeking out new opportunities and building networks.
• Strong communication skills, an ability to influence upwards internally and externally, and ability to write succinct, commercially compelling applications, proposals, pitches and vote strategies.

About the Role/Role and Responsibilities 

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Medair UK team as we are seeking a part-time Head of Operations. The post holder will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of Medair UK's finance, HR, IT and governance functions, ensuring robust systems, effective controls, and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. They will support the Medair UK Director and Board of Trustees to ensure effective governance and management of the charity in accordance with best practice and ensure a sustainable operational platform is in place to support all Medair UK’s functions. The Head of Operations will contribute to organisational strategy, culture and decision-making, while also taking a practical and proactive role in the day-to-day delivery of operational activities. They will help lead, support and develop the culture of Medair UK, promoting its values and Christian-distinctiveness internally and externally. 

About you 

You will be a highly organised and experienced, strategic and hands-on operational leader who can provide strong oversight of finance, governance, HR, IT and office management within a growing charity. You will have significant experience in financial and operational management, with a sound understanding of charity finance, governance and regulatory compliance and UK employment law. You will be an effective people manager and leader, with strong communication, planning and problem-solving skills. You will be adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities, work to deadlines, and demonstrate a genuine commitment to Medair’s Christian values, mission and humanitarian purpose. 

Key Activity Areas 

Financial Management and Reporting 

• Lead the charity’s financial management, ensuring accurate records, robust controls and effective financial processes.

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management, in collaboration with the Director to support strategic planning and financial sustainability.

• Manage reserves and organisational funds, ensuring effective stewardship, appropriate cost recovery, timely grant transfers and compliance with donor and regulatory requirements. 

• Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts, financial reports and performance analysis to support informed decision-making.

• Lead the production of statutory accounts and manage the annual external audit process.

• Ensure compliance and best practice with regard to legal and other regulatory bodies, including data protection and the timely submission of accounts and other returns. 

Human Resource Management 

• Lead and oversee all HR operations, including the recruitment, onboarding and retention of staff and volunteers.

• Ensure compliance with employment legislation and organisational policies through effective management and administration of contracts, HR records, payroll, pensions and employee benefits. 

• Manage employee lifecycle processes, including inductions, appraisals, performance reviews and professional development planning.

• Maintain accurate HR records and oversee attendance, leave, sickness and other employee-related processes in line with organisational policies. 

Leadership, Governance and Organisational Development 

• Lead organisational operational planning and risk management, ensuring Medair UK has the systems, processes and resources required to deliver its strategic objectives. 

• Maintain the corporate risk register and support the Board with governance, compliance and reporting requirements. 

• Support the Director and Board of Trustees through the provision of financial, operational and governance advice, contributing to organisational effectiveness and long-term sustainability. 

• Own the organisation’s policy framework, maintaining the policy register and ensuring the timely revision, review and compliance of all policies. 

• Foster a healthy organisational culture that reflects Medair's Christian values and supports staff wellbeing, engagement and development. 

IT & Office Management  

• Oversee the IT infrastructure, managing the procurement, installation and ongoing maintenance of IT hardware, systems and software liaising with the IT department at the Medair International Global Support Office (GSO) in Switzerland as appropriate. 

• Lead the development, administration and optimisation of Salesforce , other fundraising platforms and related system integrations to support fundraising, donor engagement and organisational objectives, liaising with the IT department in GSOSwitzerland as appropriate.

• Manage the Salesforce system configuration, enhancements, user access and upgrades, ensuring the platform remains effective and reliable. 

• Drive the continuous improvement of Salesforce systems, processes and data management practices, ensuring high standards of data quality, security and operational efficiency.Implement system enhancements, streamline processes and carry out regular data quality, integrity and cleansing checks to ensure accurate, consistant and reliable data. 

• Provide training, guidance and user support on Salesforce and Campaign Monitor to maximise staff capability and system adoption. 

• Ensure a fully functioning office base which enables Medair UK to deliver its operational activities in the most efficient and effective manner. 

Tasks common to all staff  

• Act as an ambassador for Medair UK at all times when liaising externally and internally 

• Ensure consistent implementation of the Medair brand across all relevant activities 

• Record information as necessary and comply at all times with requirements for handling personal / sensitive data 

Qualifications - DESIRABLE 

• Vocational qualification in business or financial management / administration desirable 

Languages 

• Excellent English (spoken and written). 

Experience / Competencies – ESSENTIAL 

• Significant experience in financial and office administration

• Understanding of UK finance and governance and employment law 

• Proficient in finance packages, ideally Quickbooks 

• Proficient in fundraising or other database(s), ideally Salesforce and Campaign Monitor

• Experience of Microsoft Office solutions, with proficiency in Excel, Word, Internet and email use. 

• Effective people manager and strong leadership skills 

• Ability to handle a wide and varied workload, with tight deadlines and competing priorities. 

• Capable planner, problem-solver and clear communicator.

Reporting to the CEO and working as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead programmes spanning early intervention, educational attainment, further and higher education, employability, skills development, youth leadership and progression into positive opportunities.

You will oversee the Let Us Learn Programme, Emerging Young Leaders Programme, Schools Excellence Programme and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Bronze programme. The Context:

Following the landmark Supreme Court judgment in the Tigere case, which helped secure fairer access to higher education for young migrants, We Belong has continued working to ensure that young people can progress into higher education. This has included successful campaigning to increase scholarship opportunities and building strong relationships with educational institutions across the UK.

However, more work is needed. Young migrants can experience significant barriers to educational attainment, further and higher education, employment and personal development because of their immigration status.

These barriers can arise long before a young person reaches the point of applying to university, beginning an apprenticeship or entering employment. We recognise that university is not the only pathway to success and that young people should be supported to explore a range of routes that reflect their ambitions, strengths and circumstances.

Early intervention is therefore essential to ensure that young migrants understand their rights, receive accurate information and appropriate support, and are able to make informed decisions about their education, training, employment and future.

Job description

We are looking for an Advice and Wellbeing Administrator to provide high quality administrative support to the Advice & Wellbeing team. This role will play a key part in the day-to-day operation of the Students' Union UCL Advice Service, including administering enquiry and appointment management processes, supporting the administration of our financial support funds, maintaining electronic case records and supervising student staff.

The role may also provide support to our expanding prevention and intervention programmes such as our Active Bystander Programme, including overseeing the enquiries, scheduling, and workshop administration.

The role is a full time and permanent contract. This role is based at our Bloomsbury campus with flexibility to work from home on a 20/80 basis (80% working from the office). We will consider applications to work on a part-time, flexible, and job share basis wherever possible.

Job Profile

This role will lead CAFOD’s policy and advocacy work aimed at building a fairer global financial system. The post holder will have a solid understanding of contemporary global economic issues, including the global debt crisis, development finance and the workings of international multilateral organisations.
