Supporter Relations Executive

The Supporter Relations and Fundraising Operations team at Alzheimer’s Research UK is a key point of contact in the charity for supporters and members of the public and ensures the highest standards in operational processes and compliance, in order to ensure a first-class supporter experience.

The Supporter Relations Executive will be responsible for delivering supporter facing engagement activities ensuring delivery of an excellent experience for every contact, recognise opportunities to increase supporter loyalty, and generate the maximum amount of income for dementia research. This role primarily works within the Supporter Relations sub- team alongside other Executives. To ensure appropriate resourcing across the wider team and maintain SLAs, the role will also carry out donation processing and other operational tasks relating to supporter activities, where required.

We have 2 roles available. 

Key Responsibilities:

Supporter Enquiry Management

· Provide exceptional supporter care, ensuring every supporter and member of the public enjoys an outstanding experience when engaging with the charity, in all communications: inbound telephone calls, emails, social media messages and enquiries by post.

· Respond to a wide range of enquiries including marketing campaigns, donations, fundraising events and requests for materials, within a timely and professional manner. 

· Receive and respond to feedback and complaints from members of the public and supporters, as the first point of contact in the team, escalating where required.

· Ensure the integrity of the CRM database, Salesforce, by amending supporter records accurately, including coding of and processing donations.

· Promote fundraising, engagement and retention opportunities when communicating with supporters, using a range of initiatives to explain the positive impact of their donations in contributing to the charity mission, ‘for a cure’.

· Ensure formal guidelines and best practice are adhered to in relation to Direct Debits, Gift Aid, FR codes of Fundraising Practice, Gambling Commission, and Data Protection Act.

Supporter Stewardship:

· Engage in outbound telephone calls and written communications to increase the value of, or to retain supporters; this will include thanking, stewardship activity, obtaining Gift Aid declarations and vulnerability checks.

· Support the Fundraising Relationship team to manage accounts specific to their regions, to ensure excellent supporter stewardship.

· Effectively and consistently seek opportunities to build networks among our fundraising community, ensuring these are directed to appropriate fundraising teams.

· Seek opportunities for repeat fundraising, by identifying opportunities and engaging with supporters as part of our re-engagement process.

· Manage the supporter follow‑up process to ensure funds are received promptly and accurately. 

·  Engage supporters in the best practice in ‘in aid of’ fundraising policies and deliver promotion of this opportunity.

Knowledge, skills and experience needed:

· Experience of working in a customer facing role.

· Experience of handling queries and complaints.

· Confidence working with computers – good knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and CRM databases.

· Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

· Confident and engaging telephone manner.

· Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

· Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.

· A professional and hard-working team player with a positive and collaborative work ethic.

· Outgoing, enthusiastic and able to remain calm under pressure

Ways of working:

As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals.  This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

What could my day look like?

The Education Worker role is a frontline, fast-paced and rewarding role where no two weeks will look the same. A typical day will have different activities, possibly spread between the IntoUniversity centre, partner schools and the offices of a corporate partner.

In the morning, you might be setting off with resources to run a workshop for sixth-form students in their secondary school. In the afternoon you may be setting up the classroom ahead of running Primary Academic Support for young people in your IntoUniversity centre. On other days, you may be travelling to a corporate partner to run a business simulation workshop for 15 year-olds or leading a group of final year primary school students on a campus visit for their graduation.

Secondment/Fixed Term opportunity until March 31st 2027

The Rough Sleeping Prevention Project (RSPP) works across Islington and Lambeth and provides a rapid response service, intervening to ensure no one needs to sleep rough.

What you'll be doing

In the role of a Support Assistant (known internally as Hub Assistant), you'll jointly manage the safe day to day running of the project with other members of the team and to provide basic support and advice to clients. You will also be the first point of contact for clients and visitors and coordinating the Health and Safety within the service. 

In this vital role, it is essential that you are flexible to work on the weekly rota to ensure services are accessible to those who are homeless, at the time they most need our support.

Working days are Monday – Friday. Exact hours to be agreed upon.

The Head of Finance will have responsibility for managing the Trust’s accounting system.  The postholder will also lead the annual audit, month end reporting and investment and banking services.  Working closely with the Director of Finance and Commercial and Finance Analyst, they will provide internal and external stakeholders with the necessary financial reports to manage Trust business.

This role is also responsible for deputising for the Director of Finance & Commercial in their absence.

The Regional Fundraiser is responsible for delivering sustainable net income through a variety of income streams across a hospice catchment area in line with fundraising strategy.

The post holder delivers locally tailored activity, building and maintaining strong relationships with supporters, community groups, businesses and volunteers to grow income and engagement.
Working closely with the Regional Fundraising Team Manager and colleagues, the role contributes to planning, delivery and mitigation across key income streams.

As an ambassador, representing the charity within the local community, promoting collaboration across hospice, retail and fundraising teams.
The role ensures excellent supporter stewardship, accurate data management and compliant fundraising practice.

Through excellent supporter care, compliant practice and flexible cross-team collaboration, the Regional Fundraiser drives net income and supports the long-term sustainability and reputation of Sue Ryder.

• Experience of using a fundraising CRM to manage activity.

Essential Criteria
• Experience of successfully delivering activity in line with fundraising strategy.

We currently have 3 Social Mobility Coaches on the team.  Whilst supporting women across all five pillars, each Coach has specific areas of responsibility, which may change from time to time.

An exciting opportunity to help turn a new national initiative into reality as it moves from planning into delivery. Over the next year, we will launch a new national Foundation Degree while building the foundations of a wider programme of work. In the initial phase, this role will focus on working locally with partners and participants in one or more locations to support recruitment, onboarding and preparation for launch, while also contributing to the wider programme build-out alongside a national team. As delivery begins, the role will transition into ongoing programme management across a cluster of delivery centres, leading high-quality delivery, participant experience and programme quality, and helping to build strong, sustainable centres over time.

As an Advocate, you will:

• Deliver high-quality advocacy for children and young people in line with organisational guidelines, legislation and contract requirements.
• Provide direct advocacy support face-to-face and virtually
• Ensure children and young people understand their rights and options and are supported to agree outcomes/action plans.
• Represent and amplify young people’s views in decision-making about their lives
• Maintain accurate case records and contribute to data/reporting,
• Promote best practice, equality and safeguarding values: challenge discrimination, maintain confidentiality (GDPR), follow health & safety, and contribute to CPD/training and wider organisational learning.

Do you have experience of working with diverse or marginalised communities and supporting volunteers? Have you been affected by hepatitis B? We are looking for someone with lived experience of the hepatitis B Virus who is passionate and skilled to support others on their journey from diagnosis to being in care. The role requires excellent communication and organisational skills. Creativity and innovation welcome! 

You will develop and support a network of volunteer peers delivering key hepatitis B messages across North East London, working with communities including South Asian, African, Caribbean and Eastern European populations. Your role will involve organising and delivering awareness and testing events in community settings, building partnerships with local organisations, and supporting individuals to access testing, treatment and ongoing care.

About the role:

This is frontline leadership at its most real. As Team Managers in Camden’s Rough Sleeping Outreach Service, you’ll lead from the front of a service that meets people where they are — on the streets, in hotspots and through the hub — building trust, responding quickly and helping people move towards safety and stability.

You’ll be holding a fast-moving, complex service together day to day. That means overseeing outreach activity, shaping how the team responds to changing demand, and making sure people aren’t passed around but supported through a joined-up, No Wrong Door approach. You’ll guide staff through high-risk and high-pressure situations, keeping practice psychologically informed, trauma-informed and focused on what actually works for people experiencing multiple disadvantage. Alongside this, you’ll play a key role in coordinating Camden’s response to severe weather, working with partners to act quickly when it matters most.

These are roles where your leadership is visible and felt. You’ll build a team culture that is reflective, accountable and resilient, where staff feel supported to do challenging work well and keep standards high. At SHP, this is also a role that grows you. You’ll deepen your leadership in a complex, borough-wide service, strengthen your system influence and open up clear pathways into senior operational roles.

• You’ve led frontline teams in homelessness, outreach or services supporting people experiencing multiple disadvantage, and you know how to keep things moving in a fast-paced environment
