About the Role

Oak is entering a critical new phase. Over the next three years, we will support the implementation of a revised digital national curriculum, deepen adoption of our curriculum resources across schools, and play a leading role in shaping the safe and ethical use of AI in education.

We are now seeking a Director of Product to lead this work.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for setting and delivering Oak’s product strategy across curriculum, platform, data, research, design and AI quality and safety. You will ensure our products deliver real impact for teachers and pupils, are grounded in evidence and pedagogy, and exemplify what a modern, digital public service can be.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop and manage a high-performing Product department, leveraging internal and/or external relationships.

• Manage the Product department budget (minimum of 6-figures).

• Accountable for the department's delivery against division and organisation-wide KPIs.

• Maintain specialist expertise in digital product and strategy development, and be the authority across Oak and, more widely, across the sector.

• Lead Oak’s product strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy, user research and evidence.

• Ensure our products meet high standards for user experience, pedagogy, evidence and AI safety, supported by robust evaluation and insight.

• Build strong relationships across education, government and technology to ensure Oak’s products solve real-world needs ethically, safely and cost-effectively.

• Member of the Senior Leadership Team.

• Lead the strategy, planning and model the culture of the organisation.

• Work in cross-functional and product oriented squads with colleagues from across the organisation, as required.

• Deputise for the CEO and take on other general responsibilities as required.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years holding responsibility for product/strategy development across a department/organisation.

• Experience of being part of a senior or wider leadership team.

• Experience of recruiting, developing and managing a high performing department.

• Experience of managing a 6-figure budget and ensuring value for money.

• Extensive experience using qualitative and quantitative data to guide decisions and measure impact.

• Proven success leading strategy implementation grounded in user needs, research and evidence.

• Proven ability to articulate complex or technical concepts to senior stakeholders.

• Good understanding of education policy and the UK education system (desirable)

  You will be comfortable working at pace, with a range of digital systems (including proprietary ones as required) and you will continuously look at ways that the team can keep getting better. You will be excellent at working as part of a remote team, building relationships and managing your time effectively.

Overview

Race Against Dementia is a global charity founded by three-time Formula 1 World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart OBE to find preventions, treatments and cures for dementia – faster.

We fund and support pioneering early-career scientists around the world, giving them the tools, mentoring and Formula 1-inspired mindset to accelerate breakthroughs. From the UK to the USA, Australia to South Africa, our researchers are rethinking how dementia research is done – applying data science, AI and engineering to neuroscience in bold, collaborative ways.

This role sits within Race Against Dementia’s small, dynamic Operations team, who oversee the charity’s research programmes and internal processes. The team is responsible for managing Race Against Dementia’s research portfolio – from coordinating funding calls and supporting the selection of the projects we fund, to delivering the training and development programme for our researchers.

Purpose of the role

The Research Officer plays a central role in delivering Race Against Dementia’s research activity, helping to strengthen our research programmes and support the researchers we fund. The role combines strong organisational skills with clear science communication: coordinating processes, systems and partnerships to ensure smooth delivery, while translating research progress into accessible updates for internal and external audiences.

Duties and Responsibilities

Research administration:

• Manage the administration of all grant calls and related processes.
• Coordinate all incoming communications regarding research matters, ensuring timely, professional responses.
• Maintain team calendars and shared resources to support smooth team operations.
• Set up review sessions with Race Against Dementia Fellows to monitor progress.
• Support preparation of updates and progress reports for charity Trustees, funders and supporters.
• Work with the Research Manager to coordinate training activities for Race Against Dementia researchers.
• Support the planning and delivery of the annual in-person training event for Race Against Dementia researchers.
• Work closely with Race Against Dementia’s research partners and training partners to coordinate joint activities, communication, and ensure smooth delivery of collaborative projects and training activities.
• Undertake research to identify new organisations aligned with our mission.

Science communications

• Track key developments in dementia research and emerging trends in the field.
• Support the creation of research related social media content for the charity’s social media channels.
• Support the development of press materials to announce research updates and milestones.
• Contribute to copywriting and content development for the Race Against Dementia’s website.
• Work with the Research Manager to ensure the wider team is kept up to date with research developments across our network and the wider field.
• Help build and maintain a network of key dementia research stakeholders across academia and charities. 

Other duties

Carry out any other duties as required by the Research Manager, CEO and Board of Trustees including:

• To attend, where appropriate, local, regional and national meetings/events.
• To maintain a good knowledge of national and local initiatives which are of benefit to Race Against Dementia.

 We are seeking a dedicated administrator to join our team and provide essential administrative support to our Specialty Training portfolio. As our Specialty Training Assistant (Exams), you will be responsible for the administration of high-stakes membership examinations, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of the College’s assessment processes. You will manage examination databases and question banks, process candidate applications and requests, and support the coordination of exam-day logistics, including digital platform setup. You will also support governance activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance exam delivery. To thrive in this position, you will need to be highly organised, meticulous, and confident in handling complex processes under pressure, with strong communication skills and proficiency in digital systems to deliver a seamless experience for candidates and stakeholders.

Summary 

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on individual to join our growing team as a Community Assistant, playing a vital role in the day-to-day delivery of our community programme. This is a practical, people-focused role centered on creating safe, welcoming spaces where women can connect, learn, and grow. You will be at the heart of our events and workshops, handling the essential logistics that remove barriers and allow the women we support to engage fully.

Women who've survived trafficking and exploitation deserve spaces where they feel safe, valued, and free to grow. As our new Community Assistant, you'll be at the heart of our expanding community programme and making that happen. 

This is an exciting time to join Ella's. We're scaling up our workshops, events, and community activities, creating more opportunities for survivors to connect, learn, and move forward. And this practical, hands-on role will be central to that growth.

You'll be the one setting up workshops, coordinating the details that make events run smoothly, and creating the warm, welcoming atmosphere where survivors can thrive. From arranging transport to ensuring there are refreshments and fidget toys on hand, you'll handle the logistics that remove barriers and help women engage fully.

Key tasks

Casework provision 

• Provide support for our weekly sessions and programs.

• Contribute to the initial planning and development of regular and seasonal community events.

• Assist with delivering all scheduled workshops, courses, and community events.

• Manage logistical aspects of sessions, including preparing materials, setting up and tidying event spaces, and ensuring all essential items are available (refreshments, first aid supplies, registration and feedback forms, and fidget toys).

• Address practical barriers for attendees, such as coordinating transport expenses are covered and childcare support is arranged (if applicable).

• Create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere during sessions.

• Support in the creation of resources, such as short videos and simple manuals, to support basic skill development for survivors.

• Support the collection of survivor feedback, with a focus on helping those with language barriers so that everyone's voice is heard.

Administrative support

• Help complete and maintain all session plans, risk assessments, and reflection notes for community sessions.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of attendance and M&E data registry.

• Support content gathering for communications as needed.

Person specification

Essential 

• Skilled in organising events and activities, ensuring they align with the needs and preferences of the survivor community.

• Strong organisational and administrative skills to manage paperwork, coordinate events, meet deadlines and maintain accurate records.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to create a welcoming atmosphere and interact with diverse community members.

• Ability to maintain clear boundaries.

• Excellent IT skill suitable for the role, in particular Microsoft Word, Google Drive, Gmail

• Empathy and a sensitive approach to working with vulnerable individuals and survivors.

• Problem-solving ability to address practical issues for attendees, such as transport or childcare needs.

• Attention to detail for tasks like record-keeping, data entry, and form completion.

• Basic IT skills including proficiency in word processing (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs) and email.

• The ability to work effectively as part of a team to support the overall goals of the community program.

• Experience in a practical, hands-on role supporting or facilitating events, workshops, or group activities.

• Experience in coordinating logistics for events and workshops in collaboration with facilities management.

• Direct experience working with vulnerable individuals or in a community support setting.

• Experience with logistical tasks, such as setting up event spaces and managing supplies.

• Understanding of trauma and mental health support needs.

We are looking for a Centre Co-ordinator to support the work of the developing Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre team by ensuring the smooth running of the charity’s office, administration support and fundraising support.

It is a varied role that covers a range of support duties but there are two primary focuses of the role, which are:

1. To ensure effective office administration and support for CRCC and its services.
2. Supporting members of the public to fundraise for CRCC and support the charity’s fundraising volunteers to develop and deliver a programme of community fundraising activities and events.

To give an idea of our priorities for this role, we envisage the post holder’s time over a working week to be split as: 3 days office administration and support and 2 days fundraising support.

It is essential that the post holder has excellent office administrator skills but, whilst fundraising skills are desirable, we are able to offer training to develop the fundraising-related skills needed for the role.
