About the Role:
As our Retail Trading Manager, you’ll support our charity retail operations, leading on the buying and control of new goods. You’ll build relationships with existing and new suppliers, build ranges and provide merchandising guidance to stores. You’ll also put in place robust processes to control replenishment and shrinkage.
Additionally, there is opportunity to work with store management teams to develop retail led events to drive footfall and engage with customers in our local communities. You’ll also support new store openings and refits.
This is a high-impact role for a strategic and hands-on retail leader who thrives on performance, innovation and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Bought in goods ‘new goods’
- Lead and deliver 1–3 year growth and annual trading plans for new goods, ensuring KPI performance
- Manage supplier relationships, sourcing and buying across all channels
- Develop store-specific ranges and provide visual merchandising guidance to maximise sales
- Monitor competitor activity and adjust product, pricing and ranges accordingly
- Maximise sell-through and implement effective stock, pricing, margin and administration processes

MediCinema is a unique national, UK registered charity that improves the wellbeing and enriches the quality of life of NHS patients, their families and carers through the power of the shared cinema experience and the magic of film. We achieve this by building and running cinemas in hospitals and places of care equipped with space for beds, wheelchairs and medical equipment, and providing free films and activities for patients of all ages. Our services help to improve emotional, mental and physical health, reducing isolation, anxiety and stress, and increasing patient resilience to help them cope with what they’re going through.
Our purpose-built in-hospital cinemas are designed to accommodate patients in hospital beds and wheelchairs, on drips or with monitors. Patients are looked after by trained volunteers who accompany them to and from the cinemas, and by two nurses who are present at each inpatient screening. In addition to our regular inpatient screenings, we run Tailored Screenings for specific patient communities, working closely with the patients and clinical teams to co-design experiences that meet the specific needs of each group. We also routinely hold personal screenings for patients who are unable to mix with other patients, are receiving palliative care or are in other sensitive situations. We also run our varied Beyond the Big Screen programme that extends the impact of our services to outside the film screenings, including specially-designed MediCinema activity books, arts & crafts and special character or talent visits. Finally, through our long-standing strategic partnership with Disney, we also design and provide activities on wards and in the MediCinemas as part of our expansive and impactful ‘Moments that Matter’ (MTM) programme.
The Role
We are looking for a Cinema Manager to build and run our service based in Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. The post-holder will work closely with the part-time Deputy Cinema Manager, their team of nurses and volunteers, the hospital, and with central office operations team to prepare for and run successful film screenings each week.
We run a minimum of four regular inpatient screenings each week, including evenings and weekends. There is also a programme of additional Tailored and Personal screenings on top of these four regular inpatient screenings.
The role offers a unique, exciting and extremely rewarding opportunity for someone interested in a service delivery role at the heart of our charity, involving direct contact with the patients and families we support.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
The role of the Cinema Manager is essential to ensure the effective and safe delivery of our service. The Cinema Manager is responsible for all operational aspects of the service. This includes ensuring screenings happen on schedule and as planned, recruiting and managing volunteers and nurses, and developing relationships with a variety of hospital staff and departments to ensure the service is widely promoted and utilised, and to work together on developing Tailored Screening groups and identifying candidates for Personal Screenings.
The position would be part of the larger cinema managers team (all of whom operate remotely at various hospital sites) and report to the National Cinema Manager who is based in our central office in London. This position would suit someone who is self-motivated, wants a varied and interesting role and has an interest in film, healthcare and helping to improve people’s wellbeing.
Service Delivery
- Deliver a programme of screenings each week as agreed according to the operating procedures of a MediCinema, including running and managing screenings on your own. Most screenings are held in the evenings so the role requires regular evening working.
- Be responsible for:
- Marketing the service throughout the hospital, organising collecting and returning patients, and for safety and care in the cinema itself.
- Taking responsibility for health and safety of patients coming to the cinema, and the safety and appearance of the cinema space itself.
- Preparing and operating the digital projection equipment for the screening, ensuring that films are screened to the highest technical standards at all times. Training and ongoing technical support will be provided for this.
- Ensuring that all operational, welfare and safeguarding policies set out by MediCinema are followed accordingly, and that consent forms are obtained for photographic or filmed records.
- Ensuring that all aspects of the operation comply with relevant health and safety legislation, and that areas where MediCinema might be in breach of such are dealt with immediately or brought to the attention of the appropriate authorities for rectification.
- Keeping accurate monitoring and operational records, including contacts and database updating as required
- Collate, analyse and report back on agreed metrics and KPI’s
- Support with arranging and running any special events and special screenings
- When required, arrange and run additional personal screenings for patients unable to attend regular screenings, plus special tailored screenings with particular hospital departments and patient groups.
- Manage the local development and roll out of different Tailored Screening patient groups, plus any other potential new type of screenings we embark on.
- Support the delivery of our ‘Beyond the Big Screen’ bedside services, including our Disney ‘Moments that Matter’ work.
- Line management of the Deputy Cinema Manager.
Nurse & Volunteer Management
- Build, manage and support the team of nurses and volunteers to assist in the duties outlined above and to ensure that screenings run safely and smoothly – this will include managing recruitment and creating monthly rotas.
- Work closely with Voluntary Services Department of the hospital about all the checks and training required for volunteers.
Marketing and Relationship Management
- Be proactive in marketing the service within the hospital, and building key relationships with hospital staff and our partner Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
- Develop and manage effective partnerships throughout the hospital and community.
- Represent the organisation effectively and compellingly at all times.
- Support the programming and development of the MediCinema as a centre for entertainment, being pro-active in developing a creative programme of sustainable events at each site. This could include supporter events, live performance and other relevant activities.
Administration and other duties
- Provide holiday or emergency screening cover when required.
- Manage the collection, loading and returning of films.
- Champion the work of MediCinema within the hospital and cinema environment, as well as confidently and positively representing MediCinema in all interactions and at any meetings and events, including supporter visits.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the Alder Hey MediCinema, operations and MediCinema as a wider organisation
- Communicate effectively with all team members, ensuring an inclusive and whole organisation approach
- Undertake other tasks, projects and duties as reasonably required.
MediCinema is a small team and staff members are expected to support each other and share cross-organisational work in addition to fulfilling individual responsibilities.
The Person

Taking a supporter centred approach, the postholder will lead a team of individual giving and relationship fundraisers to generate income through the strategic and long-term engagement of new and existing supporters.

Role Requirements
- Develop, implement and monitor a fundraising strategy across all public fundraising areas aligned to the voluntary income strategy.

- Using CRM principles, work with senior managers to optimise acquisition planning, and channels and campaigns within agreed budgets.

The Website Development Project Manager is primarily responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the major website development project, a core part of the Digital, Data, and Technology (DDT) transformation activity. This strategic project is key to implementing the 10-year organisational strategy, ARUK: Towards a Cure. The post holder will manage the full project lifecycle, from planning and execution through to embedding the new platform, ensuring the project is delivered on time, to scope, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Management – Website Development
· Work with internal teams and external digital agencies/third parties to develop a flexible project plan for the Website Development Project that is adaptable to unexpected changes; manage these changes effectively through appropriate stakeholder management and risk planning.
· Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with project team members, internal stakeholders, and third parties, to foster collaboration and drive the successful delivery of the website development project.
· Drive and monitor project progress against timelines using appropriate project management tools (e.g. Excel, Smartsheet, MS Projects or similar), and ensure stakeholders are updated at key checkpoints; ensure roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and understood from the start.

We have completed Stage 1 of Bridging & Belonging, which involved a series of local listening events. What we heard was clear: people in North Kirklees want more chances to connect with one another and to shape what happens in their neighbourhoods, using their own ideas, skills and experience to make a positive difference.
We are now moving into Stage 2, a four-year project funded through the National Lottery Community Fund’s Reaching Communities programme. This phase will strengthen neighbourliness, reduce division, and support community-led action that builds stronger, more connected communities. Rich Mix is East London’s home for culture and creativity, connecting diverse audiences through film, performance and community engagement.
As Head of Events & Sales, you will lead earned income growth across hires, workspaces and corporate partnerships. Reporting to the Head of Finance and as a senior member of the Management Team, you will shape and deliver a commercially focused strategy, strengthen pipeline and conversion, and lead a high-performing team to maximise revenue and impact. Your work will not only elevate our earned income but deepen the value we deliver to clients, residents and the wider community we serve.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and deliver events and sales strategy to grow income and occupancy
- Drive business development, partnerships and repeat bookings
- Manage the sales pipeline, forecasting and performance reporting
- Lead, motivate and develop the Events & Sales Team
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of hires, ensuring quality, compliance and ROI

Help tackle loneliness among older people in care homes
Thousands of older people living in care homes receive few or no visitors. Friends for Life Bedfordshire exists to change that.
Through our befriending and group activities, we bring companionship, connection and meaningful relationships to care home residents across Bedford and the surrounding area.
We are now looking for a Fundraising Lead to help secure and grow the income that makes this work possible.
About Friends for Life Bedfordshire
We are a Bedford-based charity working to address the social isolation of older residents in Bedfordshire’s care homes.
Founded in 2007, we have grown from a small local initiative to a registered charity with c90 volunteers supporting more than 30 care homes across Bedford Borough. In the last year, over 1,100 care home residents received our services.
The Role
This is a pivotal role for the charity. It is key to the delivery of our business plan and growth aspirations.
You will take ownership of fundraising and income generation, ensuring we have the resources to sustain and grow our impact.
You will lead on grant fundraising whilst also developing community and individual giving, and delivering engaging fundraising events.
This is a hands-on role in a small organisation, so you will have real ownership and visibility. You will shape our fundraising strategy and directly influence how many residents we can reach.
This role is suited to someone who is both strategic and practical — someone who can develop the fundraising strategy and the plan to deliver this, but is equally comfortable writing applications, building relationships and making things happen.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Fundraising
- Identify and secure funding from trusts, foundations and statutory bodies
- Write high-quality, compelling funding applications
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of funding opportunities
- Maintain relationships with funders, including reporting and stewardship
Community & Individual Fundraising
- Grow income through local partnerships, supporters and community initiatives
- Engage schools, businesses and individuals to generate support
- Work with Marketing, Partnerships & Activities Lead to develop campaigns that drive regular and one-off donations
- Strengthen our local supporter base and visibility
Fundraising Events
- Plan and deliver fundraising events (community and corporate), managing logistics, budgets and stakeholder coordination
- Work with Marketing, Partnerships & Activities Lead to promote events through social media and marketing platforms
- Ensure events are engaging, effective and financially successful
- Evaluate performance and improve future activity
Strategy, Compliance & Reporting
- Develop and deliver a clear fundraising strategy aligned to organisational goals
- Track performance against targets and provide insight
- Ensure all fundraising is compliant with regulations and best practice
- Represent the charity externally with confidence and credibility
About You
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of fundraising and produce results in a small, resource-constrained environment.
You will likely bring:
- Experience developing or contributing to a fundraising strategy
- Proven experience in fundraising, with a track record of generating income
- Strong experience in writing successful grant applications
- Experience of developing and growing income from community fundraising initiatives (e.g. partnerships, volunteer-led activities, individuals and events)
- Ability to build and manage relationships with funders, donors or partners
- Strong written communication skills — able to create compelling cases for support
- Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
- A proactive, resourceful approach — you don’t wait to be told what to do
- Comfortable balancing strategy with hands-on delivery
