We are looking for people interested in providing compassionate support to people affected by mental health problems. This includes supporting people with severe mental illness, and carers, families and friends. In this role you will provide confidential emotional support by telephone, email and text, as well supporting our skilled volunteers through their development and during their weekly shifts.
This role provides valuable practical experience in providing emotional support to vulnerable people. Working within SANE support services requires a high level of empathy and emotional resilience as well as excellent communication skills. SANE takes take pride in providing a nurturing and supportive environment for both our staff and volunteers. CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT

About the role:
Every woman deserves to feel safe where she lives — especially at night.
Our Camden Women’s Complex Needs Services provide accommodation and support for women who have experienced homelessness, trauma, Violence Against Women and Girls, and multiple disadvantage. Many of the women we support have lived through unsafe relationships, instability, exclusion, and services that have not always felt safe, consistent or trustworthy. This role is about helping to change that.
As a Night Concierge, you will be a calm, steady and reassuring presence in the service overnight, helping to create an environment where women can rest, recover and feel secure in their accommodation. You will be the first point of contact during the night, responding to residents with warmth, respect and clear boundaries, while helping to maintain the safety, dignity and stability of the building.
Your night to night work will include managing access to the service, carrying out regular building checks, responding to incidents or emergencies, reporting repairs or safety concerns, and escalating risks where needed. You will also support women with immediate practical or wellbeing needs overnight, using active listening, de-escalation skills and a trauma-informed approach to respond calmly and proportionately when someone is distressed, anxious or in crisis.
This is not a full casework role, but your work will make a real difference to the women living in the service. The way you record concerns, share information and provide clear handovers will help the wider team respond to risk, maintain continuity of support and ensure women continue to feel safe, respected and held. You will also be joining SHP at an exciting time, with access to training, reflective practice and development opportunities to support your confidence, learning and longer term career progression.
We are ideally looking for one person who can work all three required nights (Saturday, Sunday and Monday 8pm-8:30am) but we would be open to considering a job share for the right candidates.

Re-Instate’s Early Intervention Employment Service supports local people struggling with their mental health at the earliest possible stage through a range of employment related services. In addition, we are looking to deliver a range of training workshops to support clients of the service and local organisations.
The post holder will:
- Be responsible for managing, monitoring, delivering and evaluating employment activities to ensure that contract outcome targets are met.
- Support the implementation of organisational initiatives of Re-Instate.
- Take an active role in the delivery, management, monitoring and evaluation of any initiatives developed as part of the Early Intervention Service.
- Support clients to retain paid and voluntary work through employer engagement.
- Provide information to assist in strategic decision making.
- Represent Re-Instate within the London borough of Bexley.
- Work with the Training and Outreach Co-ordinator to promote the Early Intervention Service.
The post-holder will need project development experience and a working, knowledge of models of supported employment. They will be an effective networker, able to develop and sustain partnerships with a range of stakeholders.
Key Activities:
- Promote and deliver the vision for the Early Intervention Service that supports sustainable recovery for people experiencing mental ill health, including job retention, job searching, preparation for work and signposting.
- Lead, supervise and support the Early Intervention team through regular supervision, appraisals and performance reviews.
- Manage a caseload of clients, supporting people experiencing mental ill health to meet their work goals.
- Manage workshops, as well as individual and group sessions, to support clients in their job search. Provide expert guidance on crafting compelling CVs, completing job applications, mastering interview strategies, and enhancing overall job-seeking effectiveness.
- Generate and establish new bespoke sector specific or employer specific pathways.
- Maintain and develop excellent communication with all key contacts including colleagues, commissioners and partner providers of specialist and non-specialist services, Service User and Carer Groups.
- As part of job retention, consider reasonable adjustments and support services for clients with disabilities or other barriers to employment, ensuring their successful integration into the workplace.

We are looking for an extraordinary person to become the Service Coordinator of the friendly teams in our Mental Health Supported Living services which are located across Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
The successful Service Coordinator(s) will lead the team in enabling individuals with complex mental health needs to create their own developmental programme with the aim of progressing to further independent living. This will include supporting people to develop the strategies that underpin resilience, to learn the responsibilities of citizenship, to acquire practical living skills and establish themselves within the community of their choice.
You will be a creative and inspirational leader with great listening skills who will empower every individual in your team to be their best self at work. You will have an excellent understanding of person-centred approaches and be committed to proactively promoting the psychological and emotional well-being of those you support.
You will work closely with the 2 Service Managers and Service Coordinator who work in the Mental Health Supported Living division to maintain and develop each service as a high-quality provision for the people we are supporting. You will ensure all services remain compliant with the legislation that governs the sector while demonstrating and evidencing that both services provide excellent support for people.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Taking responsibility for the day to day running of the services which will include planning and managing the rota to ensure that people get the support they need when they need it.
- Guiding the team to co- write and review support and risk management plans, ensuring that the people we support are at the centre of the process.
- Supervising staff, providing regular one to supervisions, organising team meetings, identifying and maximizing opportunities to develop the skills of each individual in the team and ensuring that their training is up to date.
- Participating in referrals and assessments for the service.
- Working within a set budget and monitoring expenditure as appropriate.

The successful candidate will:
- Have strong leadership skills, ideally with some management experience.
- Be organised and practical, able to manage your time prioritise work in accordance with the imperatives of the service.

- Have experience of working in mental health, particularly working with people who have complex mental health needs.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the business performance of the home alongside the Registered Manager, delivering agreed income, occupancy, cost and surplus targets
- Ensure high standards of service, cleanliness and hospitality through effective leadership of housekeeping, catering and maintenance teams
- Work in partnership with the Registered Manager to maintain quality standards, prepare for inspections, and meet regulatory requirements
- Oversee the administration of the home, including staffing, rotas, payroll information, recruitment, training records and compliance
- Contribute to a well-led, positive and values-driven culture, promoting Pilgrims’ Friend Society’s ethos and “The Way We Care”
- Support staff development, wellbeing and morale through effective supervision, appraisal, performance management and engagement
- Manage resident applications, fees, contracts and family communications, ensuring excellent customer care and responsive complaint handling
- Take responsibility for health, safety and compliance matters when on duty, including fire safety and liaison with external bodies
- Oversee property, maintenance and supplier relationships, working with Property Services to ensure the home is safe and well maintained
- Provide visible leadership in the pastoral and spiritual life of the home, supporting devotions, community engagement and relationships with local churches.
Skills/Experience:
- Willing and able to take a lead in maintaining the Christian ethos of the home;
- Management experience in a business setting;
- Comfortable with writing business communications to staff and residents as well as authorities etc;
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels whilst maintaining confidentiality;
- Ability to lead, motivate and encourage staff to give of their best, and have people-leadership and management experience;
- Able to work under pressure and provide calmness in all situations;
- IT literate ( including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet);
- Willing to be flexible in the working pattern and are prepared to participate in training and attend relevant staff meetings.

Hours:
40 hours a week, usually worked over 5 days.
“On-call” cover is required on a rotating basis to meet demands. Please get in touch for more information about working patterns.
