About the team
The Investment Team is responsible for selecting portfolio partners, managing our charity investments and supporting our portfolio partners to improve and scale their impact.
The Investment Team also leads the Impetus Leadership Academy, a leadership development programme to support talent from ethnic minority backgrounds in the UK youth sector to progress into senior leadership roles.
The team is made up of 19 people, including former teachers, charity chief executives, charity impact leads, management consultants, social investment portfolio managers and impact consultants.
The team is led by a Portfolio Director who sits on the Senior Management Team. The Portfolio Director has 5 direct reports: a Deputy Portfolio Director, three Sector Leads (who lead our work in School engagement, School attainment and Employment Sectors) and an Impact Lead. Sector Leads line manage 6 Investment Directors. Investment Directors line manage Investment Managers (currently 6). Investment Directors and Investment Managers tend to primarily focus on a sector but might have mixed portfolios, depending on need, experience and interest.
The Investment Team has a good track record of role progression. All four Leads and a number of our Investment Directors were promoted from within the team.

Key responsibilities
Finding high potential charities and non-profit organisations to join our portfolio
- Supporting the annual cycle of identifying new investments - mapping the landscape of charities in thematic areas (e.g. Apprenticeships and Skills), conducting structured analysis of key impact and financial data and reviewing the current evidence base to identify high potential charities and inform options for Investment Directors.
- Contributing to due diligence of new organisations by reviewing quantitative and qualitative charity information ) and preparing clear assessments of suitability for investment; This includes considering impact and scale potential, financial stability and summarising risks and recommendations for senior review. Requires strong relationship management, in co-ordination with Investment Directors, when engaging with potential charity partners.
- Supporting Investment Directors in developing, preparing and presenting high quality investment propositions to our Investment Committee.
Supporting and managing relationships with portfolio partners
- Working closely with Investment Directors to support portfolio partners across all areas of our work - leadership, impact and sustainability – owning defined(e.g. impact management or financial analysis).
- Building trust-based relationships with portfolio partners including senior leaders and delivery staff, acting as a valued advisor on practice improvement contributing insight and support while escalating strategic issues to Investment Directors and Programme/Impact leads.
- Working with Impact teams at portfolio partners to develop and refine impact management practices; including data collection, dashboard development, performance review meetings, programme design and evaluation.
- Supporting portfolio partners functional leads (e.g. Director of Impact) to develop as leaders by contributing insights and tools to help drive and strengthen impact-led approaches within their organisations.
- Coordinating pro- bono projects leveraging our large network of corporate volunteers to provide targeted support for our portfolio partners in key areas (e.g. strategy, marketing advice, financial analysis).
- Supporting Investment Directors with the design and delivery of theory of change workshops, conducting preparatory analysis of charity impact data developing and analysing pre-workshop surveys and co-facilitating workshops.
- Supporting the coordination and delivery of Impetus’ quarterly peer learning forums for our portfolio partners, in particular the Impact Forum.
- Supporting investment governance by preparing clear and accurate reports for Investment and Steering Committees.

- Developing knowledge and expertise in Education and Youth Employment domains, staying up to date on relevant sector developments and applying this insight to support analysis and decision making.

Role purpose
The Senior Delivery Manager plays a key role in leading high-quality operational delivery across WorldSkills UK’s workforce development products and services. The postholder will be responsible for contract, project and performance management, ensuring all programmes are delivered efficiently, consistently and to a high standard. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, this role leads operational systems, processes and delivery management to support effective provision for further and higher education and the skills system, raising standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
Key tasks and responsibilities
The postholder will be accountable for ensuring that workforce development programmes and services are delivered efficiently, compliantly and to a high standard, with strong operational oversight and continuous improvement.
Contract and project management

Summary of terms and conditions

· The salary for this role is £50,000.
· WorldSkills UK offers a maximum employer’s contribution to your pension of 6% of your basic salary, on the condition that you make an employee contribution to your pension of at least 3%. You may choose to contribute a higher percentage of your salary to your pension, subject to statutory limits.

Salford CVS is recruiting a Volunteering Development Worker (Women and Girls in Football) to lead our work in increasing the participation of women and girls in off-pitch volunteering roles across grassroots football in Salford. This new role has been created in alignment with The FA’s priorities to strengthen inclusive volunteer pathways and ensure club and league environments are welcoming, supportive and accessible for female volunteers.
The main purpose of the post is to increase the number of female volunteers in off-pitch roles across grassroots football in Salford by supporting clubs, leagues, sessional football providers and community groups to create, promote and sustain inclusive volunteer opportunities. The role will coordinate learning and development for volunteers, help organisations understand their volunteer needs, and strengthen their capacity to recruit, retain and recognise women and girls in volunteering.
You will use Salford CVS’s established volunteering expertise to support England Accredited clubs, leagues and sessional football providers to attract, recruit and retain more female volunteers. This includes addressing known barriers such as lack of visible role models, sex-based discrimination, childcare demands that fall disproportionately on women, limited flexibility and traditional recruitment practices that may favour men.
Working in connection with our Volunteer Centre and wider Active Communities teams, you will join a service that already supports hundreds of organisations to develop safe and high-quality volunteering opportunities, matches hundreds of residents to roles, and delivers a wide range of volunteering training and good-practice guidance. You will also work closely with local partners, including Salford Community Leisure, GM Moving, Manchester FA and VCSE partners to ensure a coordinated and impactful approach.
The role will involve building strong relationships with clubs and leagues, engaging women and girls through targeted outreach in multiple settings (for example, community events, education environments, VCSE spaces, etc.), supporting grassroots clubs to understand their volunteer needs and barriers, and developing sustainable volunteer plans that help address these. You will deliver both FA and Salford CVS-designed training, increasing access to high-quality learning and development across the grassroots football ecosystem.
You will also connect to our wider engagement in the physical activity agenda in Salford, particularly the Place Partnership, a programme helping to lower barriers to physical activity and get Salford residents moving more.
Hours: 18 hours per week (excluding breaks), to be worked over 3–4 days.
Contract: Until 30th June 2028, subject to the successful completion of a 6-month probationary period.

Reporting to CEO as a member of the Exec team, with one direct report, this role operates at both strategic and operational levels, advising Trustees, the CEO and senior leaders while ensuring effective day-to-day HR delivery across the organisation.

Key responsibilities and competencies :

Essential criteria:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant relevant experience
- Demonstrable experience in a Financial Controller or similar role within a complex organisation
- Experience preparing statutory accounts within the charity / not-for-profit sector
- Experience managing external audits and working closely with auditors
- Strong financial control and balance sheet management experience
- Experience leading or supporting finance system implementation or process improvement
- Proven line management experience and ability to develop teams
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders
This role will be based at Alexandra Palace with regular on-site presence required to support collaboration across the organisation.

Job Purpose
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead and shape all aspects of the Foundation’s communications and brand strategy.
This is a pivotal leadership role within the organisation. You will act as strategic adviser on reputation, messaging and positioning, ensuring that the Foundation’s voice reflects both the urgency of the fight against MND and the powerful legacy of Doddie Weir.
You will steward one of Scotland’s most recognised charitable brands, protecting and evolving our public profile as we continue to invest in research, influence policy and support those living with MND.
About My Name’5 Doddie Foundation
Founded in 2017 following Doddie Weir’s diagnosis with motor neurone disease, the Foundation exists to fund research, raise awareness and support those affected by MND.
Since inception, we have committed over £19.5 million to research and a further £2 million in grants to individuals living with MND. We have helped catalyse national campaigns, foster research collaborationand build a movement united by one shared ambition: a World Free of MND.

Key Responsibilities
You will lead the Communications function, working collaboratively across Fundraising, Research and Finance, and will be responsible for:
Strategic Leadership

Develop and deliver a clear, integrated communications and brand strategy aligned to organisational goals.

Act as trusted adviser to the CEO on messaging, reputation and stakeholder positioning.

Ensure communications activity supports fundraising growth, research impact and policy engagement.

Provide regular insight and impact reporting to the CEO and Board.
Brand & Reputation Management

Protect and evolve the Foundation’s brand, ensuring clarity, consistency and emotional resonance.

Develop internal brand guidance and champion high standards of communication across the organisation.

Oversee crisis communications planning and reputation risk mitigation.
Media & External Engagement
-
Lead strategic media engagement, working closely with external PR support.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts and stakeholders.

Translate complex research and policy information into accessible, compelling narratives.
Digital & Campaign Delivery

Oversee digital communications strategy including website, social media and supporter communications.

Ensure campaigns are creatively strong, audience-led and impact-driven.

Analyse performance data (including Google Analytics and other KPIs) to inform continuous improvement.
Team & Supplier Leadership

Lead and develop the Communications team, maximising contribution and performance.

Manage agency and contractor relationships where required.
