Job purpose
To provide over-indebted Londoners with free, face-to-face advice that is accurate, effective, and tailored to individuals’ circumstances. To maintain detailed case records, and keep up to date with legislation, policies, and procedures; as well as undertaking appropriate training.
Scope of role
The Debt Advisor is responsible for providing comprehensive, face-to-face debt advice to over-indebted Londoners, tailored to their specific circumstances. This role involves conducting detailed interviews to understand clients’ financial problems, researching options, and helping clients make informed decisions. The advisor ensures income maximisation and provides ongoing casework support, acting on behalf of clients where necessary. Maintaining up-to-date case records and staying informed about relevant legislation, policies, and procedures are crucial aspects of the role. The Debt Advisor is also expected to complete continuous professional development and contribute to the team’s overall objectives by meeting targets, prioritising workloads, and demonstrating financial efficiency.

We are seeking a Finance Officer with excellent numerical skills and attention to detail, and good inter-personal skills to join our friendly Finance Team at Yeldall Manor. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for helping others to join a Christian organisation dedicated to supporting men in their journey of recovery from addiction to drugs or alcohol.
As Finance Officer, you will support and deputise for the Finance Manager in all aspects of the finance role including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, bank and cash reconciliation and the processing of donations (please see the Job Description for more details). You will also support our residents in the management of their money and benefits and accompany them to relevant appointments. A driver’s licence is essential for this role.
You will have relevant accounting/bookkeeping qualifications e.g. AAT Technician Level and have experience of financial management, ideally in the not-for-profit sector. You will be a quick learner, able to manage multiple priorities and enjoy working as part of a small team that has a real impact upon people’s lives.
Yeldall Manor is a Christian organisation, and this role requires a committed Christian faith to meet the occupational requirements (in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010). We ask all staff to engage with and support our residents in their recovery journey, offering encouragement in both practical and spiritual matters.
This is a full-time, permanent position (40 hours per week) although 32 hours would be considered for the right person. You will work as part of a small, friendly team within the Finance & Fund-Raising office, located in a beautiful rural setting outside Reading. Free lunch is provided daily with staff and residents. Key Responsibilities

Sounds great, what will I be doing?
The main purpose of the role is to prepare individuals who have multiple and/or enduring mental health needs to move on to independent living in the community.
From the outset of an individual's tenancy the focus of the support is on preparing them for their journey of recovery and independence over an agreed period. Our support service is provided 24 hours a day 365 days per year with tailored flexible support delivered in accordance with need.
What do I need to bring with me?
You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.
You need to understand the principles of recovery and experience supporting people with mental health illness with their recovery you will also need to have good experience of providing empathetic support to those in need.

Above all, you bring empathy, sound judgement, and a non-judgmental approach, providing support to people facing complex challenges with respect, confidentiality, and care.
Key Responsibilities

- Analyse financial information and make recommendations for support

About the role
As an Employment Coach, you will manage a caseload of participants aged 18-24 years old, and provide them with 1:1 support, helping them overcome barriers to employment and training. You will be responsible for supporting them through every stage of their journey, enabling participants to address their barriers and realise their aspirations.
Within this role you will be required to source new referrals who are predominantly economically inactive; complete the enrolment paperwork, including development plans and eligibility checks. You will also be required to attend events and present the delivery model to referral sources to attract additional referrals.
Successful employment coaches believe in the potential of every individual they work with.
A bit about you
We want someone like you with the confidence to positively engage and motivate people from a wide range of backgrounds. We’re in search of individuals who have prior experience in employment coaching, case management, or related fields, ideally with a focus on economically inactive individuals. You will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport whilst being empathetic, patient, and proficient in communicating with individuals from various backgrounds.
