The South Coast Foundations team are looking for a new Youth Development Lead!  Working across our Get Started and Explore programmes, you’ll lead personal development sessions that take our Foundation programmes to new heights.  

The sessions will range from outdoor activities in green spaces to world of work experiences, creative projects, life skills and everything in between!  You won’t be sitting behind a screen every day; this is an active role which will involve frequent, funded travel between Southampton and Portsmouth to deliver these exciting programmes, as well as programme visits and quarterly short residential trips. You will provide pastoral support for young people, helping them to apply their newly acquired skills to their progression into education or employment. Keeping things on point means meticulously recording info and data about our programme participants, volunteers, and partners. It's all about making sure every step of their journey aligns perfectly with our funding contracts and has maximum impact for everyone involved.

About us

Parallel is a small charitable initiative with big ambitions. Our mission is to increase the number and diversity of excellent young mathematicians. We are a Good Thinking project (registered Charity Number: 1147404).

Founded in 2023 by Simon Singh MBE and Dr Junaid Mubeen, our online Parallel Academy supports highly capable students to excel in maths, by providing them with structured programmes that develop their reasoning and problem-solving skills beyond the curriculum.  We currently support more than 10,000 students through the Academy, around 1000 of whom receive highly targeted support through weekly, small-group online tutorials.

We are at an exciting phase in our journey, with plans to expand tutoring to 5000 students over the next four years. Our students are motivated and ambitious. Our maths programme takes place outside of school hours, yet students have an average attendance above 95%. All of our work takes place online and is subject to safeguarding and data protection policies that are reviewed periodically to reflect up-to-date best practice.

The purpose of this role
 

We are seeking an experienced Head of Operations to join and help lead our committed and energetic team. This role is pivotal to achieving Parallel’s growth ambitions while maintaining the quality of service we are renowned for. As a senior leader, you will be a lynch pin of our core team and will make a real difference to the life prospects of thousands of young students. 

On a practical level, you will coordinate and drive our core programmes, with oversight and accountability for their smooth, day-to-day delivery. You will also line-manage two full-time administrators (this may increase as the team expands), overseeing and supporting their work across communications, data and operational delivery.

We have established several processes and tools for delivering our programme effectively and the ideal candidate will have a sharp eye for process improvement and opportunity. You will need to understand and consolidate our current best practices, but also identify ones that need to be adapted or enhanced as we look to scale up. 

This role is offered initially as a fixed-term contract for 12 months, though we have every intention to extend the position longer term should the appointment prove successful. 

A note on working hours
 

This is a fully-remote role. As part of your contracted hours you will be required to regularly do some work during evenings and weekends (approx 5-8 hours a week). You may occasionally need to step in at short notice, outside of standard working hours, to support and resolve urgent operational issues.

There will also be periods when there is a higher workload (e.g., during student admissions cycles), so you may be required to offer some flexibility in working longer  - and then shorter - hours week to week. Time off in-lieu is provided for additional hours worked. 

In general, you will have significant autonomy in how you structure your working week, provided you ensure that our core operational needs are covered within the whole team.

Key responsibilities

Working for Parallel is challenging and rewarding in equal parts. On a typical day you will be fielding queries from parents, managing the logistics of 200+ tutorials a week and ensuring tutors are fully supported. We are a dynamic team that readily adapts to new situations and relishes the challenge of working through problems together. 

As part of your key responsibilities you will:
 

• Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of our Tutorial and Webinar Programmes, ensuring that sessions proceed as planned, and that any issues - from tutor cover needs to student absence requests - are swiftly and effectively addressed.

• Coordinate key aspects of our start and end-of-term administration, including payments, parent and student communications, website setup, spreadsheets and logistics.

• Oversee the admin team’s responsiveness to our high-volume shared inboxes, responding to the most sensitive student and parent queries and acting as a point of escalation where needed.

• Manage a small but growing admin team, providing regular guidance, support, and feedback.

• Play a key role in overseeing our student admissions cycles, from planning to testing, setup, delivery and communication of decisions.

• Make everyday operational decisions independently, exercising good judgement in when to bring issues to senior management.

• Work effectively with data (e.g. student learning data) - as managed through our central directories - and use it to guide decision-making and to support the effective running of our programmes. 

• Review our policies on an ongoing basis, ensuring that we are complying with our safeguarding and data protection obligations at all times and that our policies are built for scale.

• Support with schools outreach initiatives.

• Develop and document key administrative procedures (an ever-evolving ‘Operations Handbook’) to ensure that we have reliability and stability across all programmes.

• Help to shape and build on our ethos of high expectations, which translates into concrete policies regarding attendance, homework, participation and criteria for both admitting and removing students from our Tutorial Programme.

Role requirements
 

While there is no fixed template for working with Parallel, we consider the following requirements essential for this role:

• Proven leadership qualities, with the ability to act independently and decisively when the situation demands it. 

• Experience managing small teams, including multiple direct reports.

• Managed operations at large scale - you have executed product/service delivery to thousands of end users.

• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to delegate tasks and to track processes and outcomes.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to connect effectively with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders.

• Proficiency in working with digital tools and software such as Google Sheets, Docs, Forms, Zoom and Trello (and able to learn new tools quickly and independently).

• Excellent with spreadsheets and data - you know your vlookups from your pivot tables.

• Nimble problem-solver who can think on your feet and approach complex situations with a flexible mindset.

• A ‘can-do’ attitude and strong team ethic - you are known as a supportive presence for your colleagues who will go above and beyond to make their lives easier.

• Demonstrable ability to work productively in a fully remote setup.

• A strong commitment to safeguarding, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity related to all aspects of information disseminated within the organisation.
   

It is also desirable (though not essential) for you to have relevant experience in an education setting.

Job Purpose:

This is an important role in MSF UK’s growing Legacy Fundraising team, requiring diverse skills, knowledge and behaviours including understanding of marketing techniques as well as experience in managing process-led business administration tasks.

The successful candidate will work alongside the Legacy team to help deliver MSF UK’s Legacy strategy and support the growth of one of the charity’s largest income streams. Providing an excellent quality and accuracy of support and information by email, telephone and post is therefore essential. About the Role

As a Senior Administrator you will manage a team of five administrators known locally as 'Service Delivery Assistants' to oversee the support to the Kent and Medway Victim Support Operational Teams including the Triage and Early Intervention team, the Multi Crime Service Case Workers and the Specialist Services Case Workers (Stalking, Hate Crime and Child and Young Persons)

You will manage performance and staff motivation, ensuring that the administration function operates effectively and efficiently carrying out tasks as directed by the Operations Manager. As the role involves providing support to administrators and actively working to improve performance, you will need experience of managing people and working in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting. You will also have an understanding and knowledge of confidentiality and safe working.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and participate in all administrative functions to ensure the smooth and effective running of the service, monitoring quality standards for the team through auditing and reporting where required.
• Provide effective line management of staff to ensure performance targets and agreed outcomes are met by the service.

  Role Purpose 
 
The Home from Hospital project in Newcastle is funded by the Northeast and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board. Preventing readmissions to hospital is crucial for the NHS. Re-admissions cost the NHS over £2 billion per year, and no-one wants to be in hospital when they can be recovering safely and comfortably at home. The project was developed to help enable older people to thrive back at home, and in the community, while at the same time supporting the NHS.
 
We recruit, train, support and coordinate volunteers, who provide a “little bit of help” to people who may be socially isolated, have health issues, or don’t have many people around them. Volunteers provide social, emotional or practical support, completing short-term tasks. The Centre for Long-Term Resilience (CLTR) is a UK-based, non-profit and independent think tank with a mission to transform global resilience to extreme AI and biological risks. The Role

The Operations Manager is a key hire within our small but highly effective Operations Unit, sitting alongside a People Operations Manager and reporting directly to the Director of Operations. The Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting CLTR’s overall operations, working across units and delivering projects spanning cybersecurity, finance, administration, data protection, office management and others.

This is a hands-on, generalist role suited to a skilled and self-motivated operator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable switching between strategic project management and day-to-day delivery. Your Mo-Mission (should you choose to accept it):
As our Events & Office Manager, you'll lead the delivery of Movember UK's events program while ensuring our London office runs smoothly and effectively. From fundraising events and stakeholder activations to workplace experience and operations, you'll play a key role in helping us change the face of men's health.

• Lead the planning and delivery of Movember UK's annual events program, including fundraising, awareness and stakeholder events.

• Manage events end-to-end, from briefing and budgeting through to delivery and post-event evaluation.

• Source and manage venues, suppliers, catering, AV and event logistics.

• Build guest lists, coordinate invitations and ensure the right stakeholders are engaged.

• Develop event timelines, run sheets and risk assessments to ensure seamless execution.

• Partner with Fundraising, Marketing, Programmes and Policy teams to deliver impactful events.

• Identify opportunities to enhance existing events and develop new fundraising and engagement initiatives.

• Manage event budgets, track expenditure and report on outcomes.

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the London office and provide leadership to the Events & Office Executive.

• Manage office suppliers, facilities, maintenance and workplace services.

• Support onboarding, offboarding and staff experience initiatives.

• Maintain office budgets, health & safety compliance and workplace standards.

• Support operational projects and provide assistance to the Country Director and leadership team as required.

• A minimum of 5 years' experience delivering events end-to-end across fundraising, corporate, community, charity or commercial environments.

• Proven experience managing event budgets, suppliers, venues and logistics simultaneously.

• Experience delivering events for a range of audiences, from small stakeholder gatherings through to large-scale activations.

• Experience managing office operations, facilities or workplace services.

• Experience developing event plans, run sheets, risk assessments and post-event reporting.

• Experience using project management tools such as Asana or similar platforms.

• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends in line with the events calendar.

Not Mission Critical - but for extra bonus points: 

• Experience working within a charity, fundraising or purpose-led organisation.

• Experience managing or mentoring a direct report.

• Experience securing or managing event sponsorships.

• Experience using Salesforce or another CRM platform.

Job Purpose

Grandmentors Wolverhampton is a well-established and successful project that has been connecting mature volunteers with care experienced young people since 2019. As Project Coordinator, you will lead the core programme while heading up our brand new ‘Through the Gates’ pilot, which provides vital support for young people transitioning from custody back into the community. Your role is to foster high impact mentoring relationships while ensuring clear professional boundaries are maintained, complementing the work of our statutory partners in the Local Authority.

Key Responsibilities:

· Project Coordination: Lead the day-to-day delivery of Grandmentors in Wolverhampton, ensuring the project meets match targets for both the core service and the new pilot.

· Volunteer Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise a dedicated team of mentors, ensuring they feel supported and understand how their role fits alongside other professional services.

· Boundary Management: Act as the key link to statutory leads, such as Social Workers or Personal Advisors, ensuring support remains mentor-led and escalating any professional concerns appropriately.

· Partnership Working: Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with the Local Authority and other relevant partners.

· Safety & Compliance: Oversee risk assessments and strictly follow safeguarding procedures to ensure the safety of our volunteers and the young people we support.

· Impact Reporting: Use our CRM system to track progress and collate data for annual reports and meetings that demonstrate the project’s impact to our stakeholders.

About Democracy Classroom

Democracy Classroom is a growing, non-partisan partnership of more than 100 civil society organisations committed to strengthening democratic engagement among young people across the UK.

The network is supported by the Democracy Classroom Platform, an online hub featuring hundreds of free resources for teachers and youth practitioners. Democracy Classroom reaches educators in 95% of UK parliamentary constituencies and plays a leading role in shaping the sector’s voice - coordinating joint submissions to government consultations and producing shared visions such as The Roadmap to Votes at 16.

This is a rare opportunity to drive collaboration at a national level and support the sector to prepare for major upcoming changes in democratic education, including the introduction of Votes at 16.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Partnerships and Advocacy Manager to strengthen The Politics Project’s influencing and partnerships work, with a focus on Democracy Classroom - a non-partisan network of organisations across the youth, education and democracy sectors. You’ll lead the implementation of the new Democracy Classroom strategy, and grow the network’s impact and reach in the build up to the next general election and the implementation of votes at 16.

You will play a central role in expanding and activating the network - supporting over 100 partner organisations to collaborate effectively, share learning, build trust and increase their collective impact. You will be a key player in keeping the sector informed, connected and ready to respond to key moments in democratic engagement, from elections to policy changes.

You will take on a highly relational role, working closely with the team to manage and nurture a complex network blending multiple sectors. You will collaborate with the Director to manage shared relationships across the Democracy Classroom network, building more ownership over time. You’ll help position Democracy Classroom as an important conduit between the sector and major stakeholders like government departments and funders.

This is a dynamic, outward-facing role that blends strategic thinking with hands-on coordination. You’ll work closely with the Head of Communications and Networks, the Democracy Classroom Programme Coordinator and colleagues across The Politics Project to make sure partners feel supported, valued and part of a shared mission.

The Politics Project is based in London, and the post holder will be expected to work from the office at least two days a week. The role may require occasional UK travel and some evening/weekend work, for which time off in lieu will be given. The role has a six-month probation period. The hours of work are 37.5 hrs per week. This is a fast-paced role in a friendly, supportive and growing team.

Key responsibilities

Partnership management

• Build, nurture and deepen relationships with more than 100 civil society partners, helping each partner see themselves as part of a growing and collaborative sector.

• Identify and recruit new organisations into Democracy Classroom, leading our onboarding process and helping new partners make the best of Democracy Classroom.

• Facilitate partner input into planning, shared problem-solving and decision-making.

• Build understanding of partners’ diverse needs and perspectives, supporting and balancing between these with sensitivity.

Advocacy and influencing

• Spot and act on emerging opportunities for collaboration, policy influence and joint sector action.

• Work with government departments such as DfE, DCMS, and MHCLG on the implementation plan for Votes at 16, translating sector expertise and experience.

• Manage relationships with academics and engage confidently with research to be an effective advocate for democratic education.

• Organise and facilitate events and advocacy opportunities such as advocacy panels, funder roundtables.

• Draft reports, submit evidence to the government, and feed into policy consultations.

• Jump on quick opportunities for the network, bringing people together and turning things around fast (e.g., presenting sector needs to funders or submitting evidence to Government).

Engagement and representation

• Plan and deliver Democracy Classroom meetings, training and networking events.

• Represent The Politics Project and Democracy Classroom externally as a confident ambassador for our collaborative, non-partisan approach.

• Develop and deliver partner communications to ensure consistent, clear and timely updates.

• Act as the main point of contact for Democracy Classroom partner queries, support and collaboration.

Monitoring and reporting

• Track partner engagement and feedback to support continuous improvement.

• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and reporting to demonstrate the network’s impact.

• Work with The Politics Project team to most effectively document partner activity.

• Willingness to work occasional evenings/weekends and travel within the UK.

Desirable

• IT literacy, including strong use of Google Workspace.

• Experience using CRMs or managing databases.

• Experience evaluating partnership impact and producing reports.
