Children and young people in London matter; their voices, experiences, and futures. They deserve every chance to make the most of their lives. But too many young people can't because they don't have the opportunities to help them thrive. This is where transformational youth work comes in, offering somewhere to go, something to do, someone to trust.
The Fundraising and Communications Officer plays a vital and diverse role in the success of the Fundraising and Communications Directorate and London Youth as a whole. Context
As the Community and Events Fundraising Officer, you will play a key part in ending youth homelessness in Scotland by inspiring people to support Rock Trust.
You will deliver exceptional supporter care and create meaningful experiences for everyone fundraising for us. Although a varied role, your work will follow strong themes – relationship building, spending time with supporters, and working with the Fundraising team; all to make a tangible difference for young people.
You’ll join an experienced and collaborative Fundraising and Communications team and be supported to identify opportunities to grow our community presence, take ownership of our community-led income, and inspire long term supporter loyalty to Rock Trust. In this varied and people-focused role you will meet and present to community groups such as schools, student societies, churches, and voluntary organisations. You’ll also play an important part in supporting volunteers and volunteer groups, helping to create an excellent supporter experience at every stage.
This is a fantastic opportunity to combine creativity, relationship building, and event management in a role where no two days are the same. Most importantly, your work will directly help end youth homelessness in Scotland, giving you the chance to see the real impact your efforts make on the lives of young people.
Rock Trust promotes a family friendly culture. As such, we welcome discussions around flexible working and/or compressed hours, consider hybrid working, and run a flexi-time system. This Community and Events Fundraising Officer role could work up to 40% of the week remotely. While 60% of the role would be ‘office based’, in practise this could mean out in the community meeting groups, delivering presentations, or at events.

About Libraries Connected
We are an independent charity that supports, promotes and represents public libraries. Our work is driven and led by our membership, which includes almost every library service in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Crown Dependencies (Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man).
Across the areas we serve there are 176 individual library services with around 3,000 library branches serving over 61 million people.
Our unique approach is to bring these services together to share experience, expertise and evidence – driving innovation and impact across the public library sector.
While senior library leaders sit on our board and committees, we work with library staff at all levels.
As well as providing practical support, training and advice to libraries, we represent them to government and raise their profile in the media. We also develop and lead national library projects with cultural, academic and corporate partners.
We work to a strategic plan that runs until 2027, organised around four themes: drive, grow, connect and engage.
We generate income from membership subscriptions, commissioned services, events and grants. As an Arts Council Investment Principle Support Organisation, part of our core funding in England comes from the Arts Council to help embed their Investment Principles across the library network.
