As CEO, you will work closely with the Chair and Board of Trustees to shape strategy, grow income and partnerships, and ensure operational excellence across our UK and international work. About the role
 
Missing People offers an inspiring programme of events and challenges throughout the year to engage our community and supporters to raise vital funds for our important work. In this exciting role you will be responsible for organising activities that significantly grow the numbers of people getting involved in events and fundraising activities in line with plans. You will be the point of contact and provide excellent stewardship to those brilliant supporters. This will include working sensitively with people with experience of the cause, often to do something positive ‘in hope’ of a missing loved one, and actively inspiring more of them to do so. You will deliver events and community fundraising activity, contributing to budgeting and reporting, organising marketing and promotion activity to meet supporter recruitment targets, delivering supporter journeys to meet fundraising targets, and ensuring that our supporters have the best possible experience, and feel valued and know the next great way to support them
 
Key Accountabilities:
 
• Deliver and promote a range of fundraising products and activities for people with and without experience of the cause
• Contribute to the achievement of agreed team targets for supporter volume, average value, conversion rates
• Create marketing briefs and work with the Marketing team to ensure events are marketed and delivered in line with plans
• Optimise digital fundraising for challenge events and community fundraising
• Support the recruitment of supporters through marketing and promotion to participate in challenge events and other fundraisers.
• Work directly with supporters to help them develop their own fundraising ideas – this will sometimes involve working with people with lived experience of the cause.
• Represent the charity at external events and ensure supporters, their families/friends and volunteers enjoy an excellent experience

The post holder will be part of Rights of Women’s Family Law team and will play a key role in delivering the organisation’s core services to women affected by domestic abuse and other forms of violence against women and girls (VAWG).

The post holder will provide specialist legal advice through Rights of Women’s telephone advice lines, contribute to the delivery of training, and support the development of accessible legal information through publications and other resources. They will also support survivor engagement and contribute to Rights of Women’s policy work, helping to drive systemic change for women’s rights.

The role will also involve contributing to Rights of Women’s Family Justice and Domestic Abuse Partnership work, which brings together local professionals to strengthen the family justice system for survivors of domestic abuse. This will involve occasional travel to local areas.

The Legal Officer will play a leading role in maintaining and developing Rights of Women’s online peer-to-peer forum, which builds the capacity of professionals supporting women survivors. This includes supporting the online community, producing legally accurate and relevant public-facing content in response to queries and emerging themes, and contributing to a regular online newsletter.

Alongside other Legal Officers, the post holder may share responsibility for supporting, training and developing Rights of Women’s team of over 50 remote legal advice volunteers.

We are seeking an experienced humanitarian health operations professional to join our team. As our new Operations Manager you will join a newly created Operations function and play a key role in its development and success. Our operations are growing rapidly and we need someone who can thrive in providing excellent operational management alongside developing our systems and processes. You will manage a portfolio of programmes and responses both from the HQ and in the field.

Humanitarian health needs are growing. UK-Med is an NGO providing emergency health support in times of crisis and humanitarian emergencies. We provide clinical support, as well as training and capacity building for health professionals around the world, with particular focus on countries vulnerable to outbreaks, natural disasters or with weakened health systems due to complex emergencies. As a key partner of the UK Emergency Medical Team (EMT), we work closely with DFID and the WHO, but we are also growing our own programmes. Our work has never been more vital, with disease outbreaks and disasters becoming more frequent, complex and severe.

We provide humanitarian health surge support to health systems facing exceptional challenges. Our responses can range from individuals or small teams of technical experts providing advice and capacity building through to a full field hospital providing primary healthcare and surgical interventions.

The post holder will also be required to support and train other staff and volunteers in the care, management and behaviour modification of the animals in their care.

Decisions to escalate animals for RCAB attention (according to agreed criteria). We are seeking a compassionate and organised individual to join our Clinics Support Team as a Patient Liaison Officer (PLO). This role offers a unique opportunity to deliver charity-led support within specialist paediatric clinics at Great Ormond Street Hospital, working alongside NHS multi-disciplinary teams while remaining part of a close-knit and supportive charity team.

About the Role

As a Patient Liaison Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring families feel prepared, supported and heard before, during and after their clinic appointments. You will provide emotional and practical support, advocacy and system navigation, helping families to understand their care and access appropriate support, while referring more complex casework to BBS UK’s specialist Advice Service.

You will:

• Support families before, during and after NHS Highly Specialised BBS clinic appointments

• Facilitate clinic attendance by preparing families for appointments, addressing concerns and helping to reduce “Did Not Attend” rates

• Attend specialist BBS clinics at Great Ormond Street Hospital, and St Thomas' Hospital, providing on-the-day support to families and clinicians (Approximately 2-4 days per month)

• Act as a key point of contact between families and clinical teams, supporting communication and information-sharing

• Provide light-touch advocacy, information and signposting in relation to health, education, social care and local authority support

• Identify unmet needs or emerging issues during clinic interactions and refer families to the BBS UK Advice Service for specialist advocacy and follow-up

• Support families during key transition points, particularly the move from paediatric to adult services

• Maintain accurate and confidential records using BBS UK’s CRM system (CharityLog)

• Contribute to service evaluation, quality improvement and the wider work of BBS UK

This is a home-based role with attendance at clinics in central London and occasional travel to other clinic sites and BBS UK events. Travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with BBS UK policies.

•  Work collaboratively with colleagues across Carers Support West Sussex to align the project offer with the wider support available in the localities.

You’ll be a visible presence in your patch, ensuring the effective management and maintenance of tenancies. Moving into a new home is an exciting life experience and your role will have a positive influence on our customer journey from the moment we onboard new tenants.

Sometimes things don’t always go to plan, so you’ll also support customers to manage their rent accounts (including taking cases to court as a last resort), manage anti-social behaviour utilising a multi-agency approach as required, resolve customer complaints effectively and use appropriate legal remedies to ensure tenancies are ended efficiently and in line with legal and regulatory requirements when necessary.

You’ll develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners and build strong community bonds to make moments that matter every day.

Salary

The Housing Partner (Housing Officer) role offers a salary of£36,162 per annum for candidates who fully meet the role requirements.

If you're still developing in some areas, we’ll support your growth with a starting salary just 5% or 10% below the spot rate, depending on experience.

You’ll also receive an essential user car allowance starting from £1,250 per annum plus milage for travel around your patch - helping you stay mobile while making a difference in your community.

About you

You’ll need experience in delivering housing management services, plus an understanding of tenancy and neighbourhood management. It would be ideal if you have a CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing - or you’d be willing to work towards it. You’ll bring a proven track record in managing anti-social behaviour, as well as a strong knowledge of rent collection processes and legal frameworks around income recovery. As you’ll be travelling across our Accent sites and estates, you’ll need a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
The successful candidate will undergo a DBS check as part of the pre-employment checks.

The Head of the CEO Office will provide leadership to the CEO Office team and serve as a key advisor to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This role will be responsible for the three specialist areas which form the CEO Office: People Services, Governance and Executive Support.
 
This role is responsible for delivering the People Services function for the organisation, including the development and implementation of People Services strategies, plans, policies and processes. You will lead the People Services team in delivering high quality support and advisory services.

Delivering the People Services function
 
Responsible for delivering a high-performing People Services function ensuring all interactions adhere to BC’s inclusion and organisational values. To lead, manage and be accountable for the function, including:

• Aligning workload with BC’s Strategy and annual business plans.
• Advising, coaching, and enabling the People Services team to deliver effectively and create an engaging, supportive, and empowering environment.
• Ensure monthly workforce reporting systems are in place and actions followed up where required.
• Lead on Employee Health and Wellbeing initiatives, promoting a culture of engagement and self-responsibility.
• Implement, monitor and evaluate performance management systems and processes.
• In conjunction with the CEO and SLT, procuring external specialist support and/or legal advice as needed to minimise risk to the organisation.
• Act as the escalation point for complex employee casework, including dispute resolutions, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, retirement and redundancy, ensuring that the SLT members’ roles remain objective and that safe formal processes can occur if required.
• Account management for providers of BC’s People Services Workforce Systems, ensuring Service Level Agreements are met and partnership opportunities are maximised including Occupational Health, EAP services, Hireful and BreatheHR.
• Oversee and manage ‘Charity Learn’ BC’s online learning management system, to include setting up annual statutory training for all staff and creating bookable in-house training sessions as required.
• In conjunction with the CEO and SLT, develop and implement a People Strategy to include areas of succession planning, talent management, change management, and staff engagement.

 
Governance, Risk and Management Information & Reporting
 
Accountable for the smooth running of BC’s core governance activities and trustee meetings, including:

• Overseeing the risk and audit process for the CEO Office, bridging as needed between the Finance Directorate and the CEO Office Directorate.
• Ensuring all core legal requirements are met and that the trustees comply with their duties in accordance with the Articles of Association.
• Ensuring relevant statutory returns are submitted to Charity Commission and Companies House.

 
Executive Support

• Ensure the support function to the CEO and SLT is delivered efficiently and effectively, including direct line management of the Executive Assistant to the CEO and SLT PA’s.

 
Management and Development of Team members
 
Responsible for managing a team of five direct reports and undertaking all People Manager duties, including:

• Setting objectives, workload planning, holding 121 meetings and regular reviews.
• Conducting Performance Development Reviews and giving timely direction and feedback.
• Building engagement within the team and creating an environment of trust and wellbeing.
• Coaching and developing team members to ensure professional and personal growth and career development and supporting any training needs.

Pipeline Management: using our CRM system, you will maintain our pipeline, ensuring records are up to date and accurate.

Cultivation: using the full resources of Queer Britain, you will create cultivation plans that may include informal meetings, tours of the museum, meeting with key members of the team, workshop visits and private dinners.

Making the ask: you will be fearless in asking people to support the museum, and will support the Chief Executive with pitching to companies and writing grant applications. 

Stewarding Supporters: you will ensure that all Queer Britain supporters understand the impact of their donation with a stewardship programm that entertains, engages and encourages renewal.
