Job Description

To provide effective teaching, learning and assessment on a specific site for a College for 14-19 year olds, delivering a safe and secure education provision for ESOL students with complex needs and behaviours. To be the driver in behaviour management and student support for complex and vulnerable students. To drive performance and outcomes in engagement, curriculum, quality of teaching, safety, achievement and progression. To work with the Lead teacher to ensure that the College’s overall effectiveness is judged by OFSTED as consistently good or outstanding.

*This role requires access to a car, and a full driving licence.

Teaching and learning:

• Teach ESOL students, from pre-entry level to Level 2.
• Teach Functional Skills Entry level Maths.
• Create an inspirational learning environment with high expectations of learner achievement, success and progression, respecting individual differences in culture and background and reflecting this in the environment of the classroom.
• Engage with parents regarding the progress of learners, ensuring that they are engaged and supportive in all aspects of our delivery.
• Build effective and supporting relationships with; embed that trust and support within the education process.
• Ensure that lessons are well planned and enable learners to achieve and progress.
• Be the role model for inclusive learning and the recognition and celebration of diversity.
• Ensure at least good outcomes for all pupils.
• Oversee and co-ordinate the development of your subject(s) area. 
• Plan, produce and update schemes of work to meet curriculum, inspection, and accreditation requirements, taking into account guidance from the DfE and other regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with all current requirements.
• Prepare and deliver lessons/learning activities to individuals and groups of learners as required by the curriculum/timetable that:
• Are informed by relevant and up to date subject and curriculum knowledge.
• Reflect the wide range of needs of students within your classroom.
• Use a range of teaching and learning strategies and resources in line with the College’s teaching and learning policy adapted to learners’ individual needs
• Develop learning resources and learning routes that meet learner needs and the requirements of Catch22 and commissioner requirements.
• Implement and maintain systems for monitoring and evaluating learning activities to ensure they are effective and worthwhile and best practice is maintained.
• Identify clear teaching objectives, learning outcomes and IEPs.
• Support and guide learners so that they can reflect on their learning, identify the progress they have made and set positive targets for improvement.
• Maintain a regular system of monitoring, assessment, record-keeping and reporting of student’s progress using targets, tracking and other College systems.
• Provide management information and other statistical data as required.
• Maintain good order and discipline among the students, safeguarding their wellbeing.  Set high expectations for behaviour and be responsible for behaviour management within your classroom and aiding in behavioural management across the College.
• Work as part of a team to ensure effective pastoral support for learners.
• Ensure the effective use of support staff within the classroom.
• Undertake relevant administrative tasks associated with the teaching function including examination/accreditation entries for learners, register taking and invigilation.

Qualifications

• A recognised teaching qualification is essential.
• A Degree in related subject and level 5 Teaching Qualification is desirable

We are looking for sessional farm assistants who will support the Farm team in realising the vision of the farm by supporting the delivery of a variety of activities, including:

 · To deliver youth and children’s education sessions and activities on the farm, supporting young people, to help care for the animals, maintain the farm and garden and learn in the outdoors.

· To deliver birthday parties on weekends to groups of up to 30,

· To deliver animal experiences, giving families the opportunity to meet and greet our rescued and rehomed animals

· To support our adult day service with caring for our animals

· To support with the animal cleaning and feeding rota, alongside groups or individuals.

Better Security, BetterCareis a support programme– funded by the Department of Health and Social Care and managed by Digital Care Hub -to help adult social care providers to store and share information safelyby using the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT). The DSPT is a free, online self-assessment for health and care providers to evaluate and improve their data and cyber security. 

The programme is delivered by acentral team and our local support organisations across the country. Most of these support organisations arelocal care provider trade associations. We also work closely with colleagues from the NHS, ADASS, DHSC and local councils. 

About you and the role 

We're looking for an inquisitive, analytical and collaborativeResearch and Policy Officerto join our growing team. 

You'll play a key role in helping Digital Care Hub become the leading source of evidence, insight and practical guidance on digital transformation, data, AI and cybersecurity in adult social care. 

Working across our national programmes, you'll design and deliver research projects, analyse policy developments, engage with providers and partners, and translate complex issues into clear, practical resources that help the sector improve. You'll contribute to consultation responses, produce reports and briefings, support national events and webinars, and help us demonstrate the impact of our work. 

This is a varied role that combines research, policy development, stakeholder engagement and programme delivery. No two weeks will look the same—you could be facilitating a roundtable with care providers, analysing survey data, drafting a briefing for government, interviewing providers for a case study or helping develop new guidance on AI in social care. 

You'll work closely with colleagues across Digital Care Hub and our national partners, taking an entrepreneurial approach to identifying emerging issues, generating insight and turning evidence into action. With the aim of building knowledge, practical skills, confidence and wellbeing through animal care, gardening and nature-based learning. This will include leading our Adult day service; developing opportunities for farm users to gain qualifications; facilitating wellbeing workshops and provision that build mental health wellbeing; working with the community lead to develop our volunteer and work placement programme; work alongside our garden assistant to lead on our garden project development, ensuring it is sustainable. This role includes line managing a team to enable the above strands of work to be sustainable and impactful for the wider community.

Role Purpose

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the operation of multiple projects run by Bassetlaw Foodbank (BFB). They will be required to deputise for the CEO, ensure compliance is followed, that BFB’s premises are well maintained and all projects have what they need to operate on a daily basis.

About us

Bassetlaw Foodbank was established in 2012 to tackle food insecurity across the district of Bassetlaw. Since 2020 the charity has expanded to tackle poverty on multiple fronts, running projects that focus both on the affordability and accessibility of food. We support residents of Bassetlaw who are in crisis, and those at risk of falling into crisis.

Key Responsibilities

Main Duties:

· Supporting the CEO; in line with the structure chart, managing paid resources (including deputising as needed).

· To oversee and ensure the operation of all BFB’s projects in tandem with one another.

· Managing volunteers across several charity projects.

· Being responsible for compliance across BFB’s sites.

· Being a point of contact for staff, volunteers, supporters, external and referral agencies, and clients.
