The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic external affairs team, supporting the coordination of engagement with some of the UK's largest law firms, leading in‑house legal teams, and key industry stakeholders.
Working closely with colleagues across public affairs, international, and member communications teams, you will play a key role in delivering a compelling and effective large‑firm member offer.
The role offers varied and meaningful engagement with members and stakeholders from across the legal and professional services sector. You will help ensure members' voices are represented within the organisation, while also promoting the valuable resources and support available to them. In doing so, you will contribute to maximising the organisation's influence, visibility, and impact.
This is an exciting and wide‑ranging position where your skills, knowledge, and expertise will be used to make a real difference.
What we're looking for
You will be a people‑focused team player, with proven experience building and maintaining strong, effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels.
Highly organised and proactive, you will be comfortable working both collaboratively and independently, often managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
You will have experience supporting or managing projects and initiatives, ideally within a membership engagement or communications environment. This will include coordinating meetings, tracking actions to completion, and ensuring initiatives progress effectively.

What's in it for you
For two decades, Transplant Links Community has been transforming access to kidney transplantation in low- and middle-income countries. Working with NHS transplant professionals and international clinical partners, they help hospitals develop ethical, sustainable and increasingly self-sufficient transplant services. Alongside Transplant Links work with Partner Centres, our education and training programmes connect healthcare professionals around the world with specialist expertise and learning.
Chief Executive
Transplant Links
£75,000 FTE
Remote, UK based
This is an opportunity to lead a small, specialist organisation with international reach and tangible human impact. Working with a committed staff team and an exceptional network of NHS clinical volunteers, you will build on strong foundations while helping Transplant Links become more ambitious, sustainable and influential.
You will work with the Board to shape and deliver our strategy, lead and develop the organisation, strengthen our partnerships and profile and, importantly, grow and diversify our income. Developing a more consistent and sustainable funding base will be central to our next chapter.
This is a genuinely hands-on CEO role. We are looking for someone who thrives in a small, entrepreneurial organisation and is comfortable moving between the strategic and practical. You might be working with Trustees on future direction, developing a funding relationship, building an international partnership or helping colleagues resolve an operational challenge. You will enjoy being close to the work, taking ownership and making things happen.
You may already be a CEO or be a senior leader ready to take that step. More important than title is your ability to combine strategic judgement, strong relationship-building and an entrepreneurial approach. You will bring leadership experience alongside a demonstrable ability to generate income, develop partnerships and make a compelling case for support.
You do not need to be a clinician, but you will need the curiosity and credibility to work effectively with medical professionals and international partners, and respect for the expertise and voluntary contribution on which our work depends. Above all, we are looking for someone who is ambitious for our impact rather than the size of the organisation, a collaborative, resourceful and resilient leader who can see what is possible and help us make it happen.
Closing: 18 October 2026
Prospectus interviews: 26-30 October
Transplant Links interviews: From November 9
We are committed to building an inclusive and diverse organisation where everyone feels valued, respected and able to thrive. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and communities, particularly those currently underrepresented in our organisation.

The Ideal Candidate
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
Citizens UK
Citizens UK is the UK’s biggest, most diverse and most effective people-powered alliance. We bring communities and local organisations together to work on issues that matter; from campaigning for zebra crossings on dangerous roads, to reforming the immigration system, to the Living Wage campaign. We have a track record of winning change through hundreds of local and national campaigns. We know everyday people have the ability to shape the world around them. We believe that through developing local leaders, we can drive nationwide change and create community-led solutions to big and small problems.
Living Wage Foundation
The Living Wage movement began in 2001, after Citizens UK brought together communities in East London to discuss poverty and low pay. The campaign grew in momentum and soon required a mechanism to recognise employers who wanted to join the movement, which saw the establishment of the Living Wage Foundation in 2011.
Still part of Citizens UK today, the Living Wage Foundation (LWF) continues to work with community organisations to make sure the voices of both workers and businesses are part of the Living Wage movement. We now work with over 16,000 employers, benefitting over 490,000 people and winning over £4bn of better wages for people who need it most.
Citizens UK works with a broad base of institutions across the political spectrum. At the Living Wage Foundation, we take the same deliberately broad-based approach and accredit all organisations who pay the real Living Wage to their directly and indirectly employed staff and are committed to tackling in work poverty. As a team we work across a range of industries and sectors to achieve this mission. We seek pragmatic coalitions in order to progress specific campaigns, and partnership around a particular issue such as Living Wage, does not imply an endorsement of broader purpose and policies.
Purpose
At Citizens UK (CUK), our organisers and project staff work within communities to develop leaders, strengthen organisations, campaign for change and organise across difference. There are various project roles and operational, communication, finance and HR roles that support the organisation and project staff and organisers to deliver on this mission and work. This work is rewarding and can be challenging; it requires a personal commitment to inclusion, a willingness to listen and disagree respectfully, and an interest in working in an organisation where our staff, member institutions and leaders will come from a diversity of backgrounds and often hold views that may be very different from our own. More information about how we operate within this context and build trusted relationships across difference can be found on our website and is covered in induction. Onboarding and navigating this relational culture, and type of work, is supported by line managers and further training.
