A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager – Accounts and Strategy with a museum on a full-time, 12-month FTC basis. As Finance Manager – Accounts and Strategy, you will lead the delivery of high-quality financial management, strategic planning and management information services across the museum.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will lead a team of finance professionals and play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy, ensuring robust financial controls, and supporting organisational decision-making. The postholder will act as the museum's recognised authority on accounting, compliance and financial reporting, while driving continuous improvement across systems, processes and performance management.

Please note, there is hybrid working in place with this organisation with 2 days per week required in their London office.

As Finance Manager – Accounts and Strategy, you will:

- Lead, motivate and develop the Management Accountants team and Planning & Management Information Coordinator, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality finance service across the museum

- Oversee the preparation of management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting, providing accurate and insightful information to support decision-making

- Lead the annual audit process and year-end reporting, acting as the key point of contact for external auditors and ensuring all statutory reporting obligations are met

- Drive continuous improvement across financial processes, controls and systems, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, governance and compliance

- Provide expert financial advice on accounting, tax, regulatory matters and major museum projects, supporting strategic and operational decision-making

- Support the development and delivery of museum-wide strategy, operating plans and performance reporting, ensuring financial considerations are embedded in long-term planning and organisational priorities

The successful applicant will:

- Have significant demonstrable experience in finance, in a similar role (have proven experience operating within a complex organisation, with the ability to deliver high-quality financial management, reporting and strategic support)

- Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA etc)

- Have line management experience (demonstrable ability to manage a diverse range of individuals to create a motivated team)

- Have strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, audit, tax, VAT and regulatory compliance

- Be experienced in driving process, systems and control improvements, with a focus on efficiency, compliance and best practice

- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Engineer at Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, you will be responsible for creating clear and accurate technical work. You will use your professional skills and experience to complete tasks with minimal supervision. The work plays a key role in delivering complex projects that support our mission to provide high‑quality and sustainable infrastructure.

Our Urban Designers can be engagement experts, bringing communities and partners along a journey where early involvement can help shape outcomes that work for local communities.

• Use technical expertise to produce accurate and reliable project outputs and deliverables. 

• Engage with internal colleagues, local communities, external partners, regulatory authorities and other key stakeholders to scope, shape and deliver solutions that work for people. 

• Contribute to business development activities by preparing agreed project proposals. 

• Manage straightforward projects from start to finish through all RIBA stages.

• A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, such as Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, Highway Design, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, or another relevant and clearly demonstrated specialism, with at least two years of experience.

• Competence in using design software that is appropriate for the role, e.g. AutoCAD suite including Civil 3D and other packages.

About St Gregory's Foundation

St Gregory's Foundation (SGF) is a small UK charity that has been working alongside trusted partners in Eastern Europe for over 30 years. The role

We are looking for a suitable candidate, whether junior or experienced, to maintain our accounting and financial records and prepare our annual accounts.

The role includes maintaining and reconciling our QuickBooks accounts, processing bank transfers and payments, preparing financial and management reports for quarterly Board meetings, submitting Gift Aid claims, and preparing our annual accounts with the Reporting Accountant.

As a small charity, this is a varied role requiring someone who is organised, has an excellent eye for detail, is reliable, and is able to work independently while also being a good communicator and team player.

Main responsibilities

Monthly tasks

• Record day-to-day income and expenditure.
• Enter transactions into QuickBooks for our RBS accounts, including standing orders and CAF donations, and reconcile the accounts.
• Process bank transfers and payments.
• Arrange payment of invoices (held in OneDrive).
• Arrange payment for our freelance Online Communications Assistant.
• Arrange payment of the Executive Secretary's expenses.
• Attend brief remote meetings with the Executive Secretary and a member of the Board, as required, to discuss donations, donor records, QuickBooks entries and financial reports.
• Prepare financial and management reports for Board meetings (4–5 times a year).

Semi-annual and annual tasks

• Prepare and submit Gift Aid claims twice a year: after the financial year end (31 December) and after the end of the tax year (5 April). Ensure Gift Aid declarations are completed by eligible donors.
• Prepare the annual accounts with the Reporting Accountant (once a year).
• Prepare a budget review with the Executive Secretary (twice a year).

Key skills and experience

• Relevant accountancy or bookkeeping qualification and/or experience.
• Experience of preparing annual accounts and financial reports.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to prioritise and manage your workload effectively.
• Experience of using QuickBooks would be an advantage.

What the job involves
We’re looking for a Business Improvement Executive to join our Fundraising Directorate on a fixed term contract for 12 months. This role supports our fundraising teams by keeping core processes, data and performance tracking running smoothly, helping campaigns to be delivered efficiently and with a great supporter experience.

You’ll play a hands-on role in the day-to-day running of fundraising campaigns, helping to troubleshoot process or reporting issues, manage updates to performance tracking, and make sure changes are introduced with minimal disruption. Alongside this, you’ll work on a range of improvement projects that focus on finding more effective ways of working, improving existing processes and strengthening how we use data and platforms across the team.

Working closely with colleagues in Fundraising, Technology, Digital and Data, you’ll help review and improve internal and third-party processes, advise on new data management approaches, and support the effective and consistent use of our fundraising platforms and systems. You’ll also be involved in ad-hoc analysis and reporting, as well as managing some recurring data processes that sit outside the core data function. Throughout everything you do, you’ll help ensure our data is accurate, well managed and handled in line with data protection requirements, supporting the Mass Fundraising team to continue its strong income growth and ambitious strategic goals.

What we want from you
We’re looking for a Business Improvement Executive who is a natural problem solver who enjoys getting to the root of an issue and finding practical, workable solutions. You’ll bring a strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset, and you’re always looking for ways to improve how things are done. You’re quick to pick up new concepts, systems and technologies, and feel comfortable adapting to change.

Being a clear communicator, you’ll enjoy working with a wide range of people and priorities, and you’re able to explain more technical ideas in a way that makes sense to non-technical audiences. You’re happy working with data and using Excel as part of your day-to-day role. Experience with tools such as Power Query would be useful but isn’t essential. You’ll also either have some working knowledge of mass fundraising or be keen and able to build this understanding quickly by immersing yourself in a new area.

The Head of Finance will lead the day-to-day finance function, ensuring our financial information is accurate, timely and useful. The role will oversee financial reporting, controls, compliance, payroll, budgeting and forecasting, while managing and developing the finance team. The postholder will work closely with budget holders and senior leaders to support good financial decision-making across the organisation. The role will also provide oversight of key operational areas, including premises, health and safety, equipment and outsourced technology support.

In the first 6–12 months, the postholder will be expected to strengthen monthly reporting, improve budget holder support, maintain clear financial controls, support the annual audit and help embed effective finance processes across the organisation.

Financial responsibilities

· Ensure that all financial data is accurately recorded, maintained and reported in accordance with relevant accounting standards and guidelines

· Ensure compliance with relevant financial, tax and statutory obligations, including VAT, PAYE and other reporting requirements

· Lead financial business partnering across the organisation, ensuring budget holders have the knowledge, skills and tools to manage their budgets effectively. This will include:

• • Running effective budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure the organisation has a robust plan
  • Producing monthly management accounts with useful variance analysis to ensure proper financial management

· Alongside the Director of Finance, develop and maintain financial controls to safeguard the charity’s assets, ensuring clear processes are in place and control checks are documented

· Take full management responsibility for the finance team, lead, motivate and develop them to ensure that they are focused, competent and working effectively and efficiently

· Maintain clear review and approval processes so that financial work is properly checked, authorised and documented

· Oversee finance processes for the trading subsidiary, including reviewing postings, accounts and consolidation entries

· Produce or review monthly payroll amounts and postings

· Lead preparation for the annual audit and statutory accounts, ensuring working papers, reconciliations and supporting evidence are complete and accurate

· Ensure restricted funds, grants and project income are recorded, monitored and reported accurately

You will have excellent relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage community leaders, statutory partners and volunteers and will possess sound judgement, integrity and sensitivity when dealing with confidential information, delicate issues and vulnerable individuals. You will also have experience of designing and delivering tailored training programmes to diverse audiences, including community groups and institutional partners. A strong understanding of the issues facing Muslim communities in the UK, and the barriers to reporting hate crime is essential.

Background

Breaking Barriers is a national charity dedicated to helping refugees and asylum seekers build new lives through employment. We work with individuals facing complex barriers to the labour market, providing tailored employment support and partnering with statutory, voluntary, and community organisations across the UK.

This role has been created to support the delivery of multiple employment projects in London. The postholder will work directly with asylum seekers and refugees across a range of community settings, including asylum contingency accommodation, and in Breaking Barriers offices, helping them access employment & integration support and connect with our services.

Overall Purpose

The Employment Coordinator will support the delivery of a Breaking Barriers employment projects in London by conducting outreach across community locations, co-delivering employability workshops, enrolling eligible participants into the programmes, providing information and guidance to the programme participants, and contributing to monitoring and reporting requirements.

 In summary, this role will be responsible for:

· Conducting targeted outreach in community locations, including asylum contingency accommodation, to raise awareness of the service and engage potential participants.

· Enrolling participants into the employment project, ensuring accurate initial assessments and data capture.

· Co-delivering in-person and remote employability workshops and group sessions at both Breaking Barriers and partner venues

· Providing 1:1 information, advice, and guidance to the programme participants.

· Supporting monitoring and reporting activities to track client engagement and outcomes.

Outreach & Engagement

· Conduct regular outreach visits to community locations across London, including asylum contingency accommodation, libraries, community centres, and partner venues.

· Build and maintain positive relationships with accommodation providers, community organisations, and referral partners to promote the service and identify potential participants.

· Provide clear, accessible information about the programme to individuals from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of English.

· Represent Breaking Barriers professionally at outreach events and partner-led activities.

Client Onboarding

· Triage: apply agreed triage processes to understand each participant’s circumstances, employment goals, barriers, support needs and readiness for different types of support.

· Programme allocation: make informed recommendations about the most appropriate support pathway, taking account of participant profile, eligibility criteria and available programme options.

· Enrolment: complete participant enrolment accurately and efficiently, ensuring all required documentation, consent and data are captured in line with project requirements.

· Communication and handover: explain onboarding outcomes clearly to participants and provide warm handovers to caseworkers, Client Services Managers or other colleagues for ongoing support.

· Records and escalation: maintain clear CRM records of triage, allocation and enrolment decisions, escalating complex cases to a line manager where required.

Workshops & Group sessions Co-Delivery

· Co-deliver in-person employability workshops at partner venues, leading the employment support strand of the sessions.

· Coordinate and deliver remote group sessions and job clubs.

· Design and adapt workshop content to meet the needs of participants, including those with low levels of English and limited prior work experience in the UK.

· Work collaboratively with partner organisations to ensure workshops are well-coordinated, participant-centred, and delivered to a high standard.

· Gather and respond to participant feedback to continuously improve the quality and relevance of group sessions.

Monitoring and Reporting

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of outreach activities, workshop delivery, and participant enrolments in the CRM system.

· Support monthly and quarterly reporting by providing timely data and qualitative evidence of participant engagement and progress.

· Contribute case studies and participant stories to evidence impact for funders and internal reports.

· Adhere to data collection and monitoring processes to ensure quality and consistency across the project.

Safeguarding

· Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns appropriately, following Breaking Barriers’ policies and procedures.

· Act as a first point of contact for safeguarding concerns arising during outreach visits and workshop delivery, recording and notifying management as required.

Person Specification

Essential

· Experience providing support, advice, or guidance to individuals facing multiple barriers.

· Experience working with refugees, asylum seekers, or other marginalised communities facing complex and multiple barriers.

· Understanding of the refugee and asylum seeker experience and the systemic challenges they face in accessing employment.

· Confidence in conducting outreach in community settings and engaging individuals from diverse backgrounds.

· Experience co-delivering or facilitating group sessions or workshops, including adapting content and approach to different needs.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work sensitively and effectively with people with varying levels of English.

· Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload independently on a part-time basis.

· Experience using a CRM or case management system to maintain accurate client records.

· Knowledge of safeguarding principles and experience handling safeguarding concerns appropriately.

· Knowledge of the London employment, education, and training landscape.

· Willingness and ability to travel to community locations across London.

Desirable

· Experience working in or alongside asylum contingency accommodation or similar residential settings.

· Experience supporting monitoring, data collection, or reporting for funded projects or services.

· A second language relevant to the communities served (e.g. Arabic, Farsi, Pashto, Tigrinya).

· Lived experience of seeking sanctuary or forced migration to the UK.

Additional Information

· This role will require travel to community locations and partner venues across London.

· Some flexibility around working hours may be required to support outreach or workshop delivery (TOIL provided).

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume case-load of vulnerable residents, delivering tailored tenancy sustainment and financial inclusion support.
• Complete holistic assessments, home visits, risk assessments and personalised support plans to help residents maintain independent living.
• Provide expert advice on Housing Benefit, Universal Credit, welfare benefits, Discretionary Housing Payments, Household Support Fund applications and income maximisation opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with housing teams, local authorities and external agencies, managing referrals and coordinating support for residents with complex needs.
• Maintain accurate case records, contribute to performance targets, deliver excellent customer service and support colleagues through training and knowledge sharing where required.

Key Requirements

• Previous experience within housing management, tenancy sustainment, welfare benefits or financial inclusion.
• Excellent working knowledge of Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and wider welfare benefit legislation.
• Proven experience supporting vulnerable residents, including individuals with complex needs, safeguarding concerns.
• Strong case management, communication and partnership-working skills, with the ability to manage a busy and varied workload.
• A proactive, empathetic and solution-focused approach, with a genuine passion for improving resident outcomes and sustaining tenancies.

The Content Administrator plays a key role within the Marketing and Communications Team, developing, coordinating and delivering engaging content across all communication channels to support campaigns, events, stakeholder engagement and wider College objectives.

You'll ideally hold an HND or higher qualification in Marketing, Communications, Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, Journalism or a related discipline (or have equivalent professional experience).

You'll have experience creating engaging content across a range of digital channels, including websites, social media, email marketing, digital advertising and mobile apps.

A good understanding of content management systems is essential, along with experience using creative software such as Adobe Creative Cloud or similar platforms. Experience producing visual and multimedia content, including graphics, video and podcasts, would be an advantage.

Essential Criteria

• Educated to level 7 or higher, with experience of academic reading and writing at Level 7 or higher.
• Experience of designing materials for NPQs, ECTP, initial teacher training, PGCE or other higher education programmes.
• A proven track record/a minimum of 2+ years of experience in the development of educational materials, including presentations, e-learning material, checklists, participant guides, and other materials used in training and development.
