We are looking for an ambitious new Legacy Giving Lead – someone who brings a passion for hospice care and wants to play a part in growing Legacy Giving at the Hospice. On average, we receive £1 million a year in legacy income but we are keen to grow and sustain this in the future.

This is a critical role that will work with colleagues across the Hospice to raise awareness of legacies and you will contribute your expertise to provide top-tier stewardship to our wonderful legators.

The opportunity...

This is a critical role that will develop and grow a high-performing Legacy Giving programme at The Hospice of St Francis.

You will personally identify, cultivate and steward legacy pledgers through an inspiring engagement programme that both raises awareness of legacies, encourages new pledgers and shows the impact they have on the Hospice’s services.

With a solid understanding of the administration of wills, you will liaise with executors and professional advisors and advise colleagues and the Board on best practice legacy administration.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Legacy Giving specialist to curate a new legacy programme, building on previous work, to grow income for the future.

The must haves:

• Fundraising Success: At least five years’ experience of delivering a Legacy Giving programme with success in driving acquisition and relationship management
• Technical expertise: Practical understanding of the practical implications of legal and financial aspects of wills
• Driving awareness and engagement: Experience of developing and executing legacy awareness initiatives internally and externally
• Systems and processes: using client relationship management systems, tracking KPIs and managing projects
• Proven expertise in relationship building internally and externally

• Experience working with professional advisors such as lawyers, accountants and wealth managers
• Knowledge of regular/mid-value or in-mem giving

Tasks and Responsibilities

You will support the Director of Operations and the wider staff team by:

• Handling day-to-day administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, booking travel and venues, ordering supplies, and keeping systems and records up to date.
• Providing operational support across the organisation – for example, setting up Zooms, responding to enquiries, keeping our staff directory current, or helping with room bookings and access.
• Assisting with HR administration such as onboarding new starters, booking training, keeping HR records, and supporting recruitment processes.
• Helping with database and records management, including updating spreadsheets or CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce) and pulling off simple reports.
• Supporting internal communications, such as keeping our policies and procedures well-organised, sharing reminders or updates, and circulating documents.
• Taking minutes at meetings when needed – including Board of Trustees meetings – and making sure decisions and action points are clearly recorded and followed up.
• Supporting governance and trustee engagement, such as helping to organise away days, induction processes or learning sessions for trustees.
• Working closely with the Director of Operations on other operational tasks that may arise, which could include areas like office management, HR, IT or governance – helping to make sure these run smoothly and efficiently.
• Working collaboratively as part of a small team and wider organisation with a willingness to undertake other tasks commensurate with the Operations Assistant role as agreed with your line manager.

Prior to joining ClientEarth in 2018, Emily was part of the development team at London's Natural History Museum where she worked on the Hintze Hall transformation capital campaign and launch activity. As Associate Director, Philanthropy, Emily manages the global philanthropy team and works alongside external stakeholders and a Development Board to secure income and connections for the organisation.

Role requirements

• Significant fundraising management experience in Asia with demonstrable experience of securing five and six figure, and multi year gifts  
• Experience in multiple elements of fundraising including identifying and building supporter bases in new geographies and working with different types of fundraising teams (e.g. philanthropic/HNWIs, trusts and foundations)
• Experience of working in a global team, working across multiple time zones and understanding / experience of working in a matrix style
• Experience of working with senior internal and external stakeholders, to build networks, deliver income and raise organisation profiles
• Ability to represent ClientEarth externally to high value funders and other senior stakeholders.

• Financial Management and Bookkeeping

• Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of all income and expenditure, including reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, petty cash, and restricted funds.

About SOFT UK

SOFT UK is a national charity supporting families affected by Trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome) and Trisomy 18 (Edwards syndrome). We provide emotional support, information, advocacy, and community connections to ensure no family faces this journey alone.

Purpose of the Role

The Regional Engagement Officer (REO) for Northern Ireland will build and strengthen SOFT UK’s presence in the region. This includes supporting families, developing local community networks, enhancing relationships with healthcare professionals, and coordinating volunteer and fundraising activities to reduce isolation and improve support access for families affected by Trisomy 13 and 18.

Key Responsibilities

1. Community Engagement and Support

• Build meaningful relationships with families affected by Trisomy 13 and 18 across Northern Ireland.

Supporting parents beyond the school gate

In recent years, families have faced a series of compounding challenges: the cost-of-living crisis, rising child poverty, and deepening educational inequality. These pressures have left many parents struggling to meet basic needs—let alone feel confident engaging in their child’s learning journey.  Parentkind has responded to this moment with compassion, agility and purpose, through a series of transformative campaigns, resources, and partnerships. 

Our No Cold Child initiative with FatFace stepped in to address a stark statistic: over 150,000 children in the UK do not own a winter coat due to poverty. Through our trusted relationships with schools we distributed 10,000 warm, high-quality coats worth £600,000 to the children who needed them most. Winning the Business Charity Awards ‘Fashion & Retail’ Award, and shortlisted for two further awards, the campaign has been praised not just for providing warmth, but for restoring dignity, inclusion, and school readiness to thousands of children.

The All Dressed Up campaign—developed with World Book Day and Rubies Masquerade—confronted the often-overlooked issue of financial exclusion on key celebration days. More than 100,000 free dressing up costumes worth £1.34 million were delivered to children from low-income families. By enabling participation in events like World Book Day, we helped spark imagination, joy, and belonging for children who might otherwise feel left out—boosting self-esteem and supporting a positive connection to learning.Furthermore, helping attract children into school on a day which often sees struggling parents keep their children at home.

Alongside these national campaigns, Parentkind supports families year-round through a growing suite of programmes designed to inform, prepare and empower parents. Our Be School Ready programme offers crucial guidance and confidence to parents preparing their children for the leap into primary education. With a mix of practical advice, developmental tips, and reassurance, through the distribution of 150,000 copies of Be School Ready and an online campaign, it supports families at one of the most formative moments in their child’s life.

We also deliver a wide-ranging series of live expert webinars and parent-friendly resources, covering topics such as managing anxiety, supporting special educational needs, navigating school transitions, and building home-school partnerships. These resources, developed in consultation with experts and rooted in lived parent experience, equip families to feel informed and empowered, no matter what challenges arise.

Our direct support of schools

Our collaboration with Asda on Cashpot for Schools is another example of unlocking support at scale. This innovative community-led funding model allowed shoppers to nominate and fund their local schools simply through everyday spending. This campaign has generated £5.78 million for schools during the past twelve months, supporting everything from basic classroom supplies to vital extracurricular programmes and pupil wellbeing initiatives. Also shortlisted for a Business Charity Award, it is already a model for community-driven philanthropy.

In April, we launched our Parent-Friendly Schools Accreditation Programme, designed to formally recognise schools that go above and beyond in fostering positive, inclusive relationships with parents. The accreditation celebrates schools that actively listen to parent voices, make engagement easy and accessible, and embed family partnership in their culture. It is a practical and inspiring tool to drive long-term change in the sector and offers a roadmap for schools wanting to strengthen their community.

Our focus on Policy & Research

Our work is grounded in evidence. Since 2023, we have conducted the UK’s largest annual parent survey: the National Parent Survey. With approaching 6,000 participants providing 130,000 bits of data to provide invaluable insights into the struggles, concerns, hopes and fears of parents. The findings are fed directly into government consultations and have already informed national debates on school funding, attendance, mental health support, SEND provision, and curriculum reform.

In each of the past two years the number of policymakers, educators, parents and researchers accessing the National Parent Survey exceeded seven thousand, and the survey featured in more than two hundred media outlets each year.Excitingly, the Times & Sunday Times are partnering with Parentkind to raise the profile even further in September 2025 and the survey will be launched at a lighthouse event featuring the Secretary of State for Education (Bridget Phillipson), the Ofsted Chief Inspector of Schools (Sir Martyn Oliver), the CEO of Mumsnet (Justine Roberts), the Children’s Commissioner (Dame Rachel De Souza), and our own Chief Executive (Jason Elsom). 

In addition to the National Parent Survey, Parentkind undertakes representative polling of parents throughout the year on a variety of important topics, which increasingly find exposure in the media and policy discussion.

Parentkind provides the secretariat for the Westminster APPG for Parents and the Stormont APG for Parental Participation in Education. Two very successful parliamentary groups bringing together policymakers and a variety of stakeholders to consider the challenges faced by parents and act as a voice for them through a variety of policymakers.

Our Media Engagement

Since becoming recognised as the UK’s largest parent charity, with likely more groups and frontline volunteers than the Scouts or Girlguiding, Parentkind has gained increasing prominence in the media.Beyond the reach of the National Parent Survey and our regular polling, Parentkind receives frequent requests for quotes of reflection and input by media in relation to their journalism and from Government and non-Government entities in support of policy announcements.

Beyond this, the Parentkind community of volunteers and PTAs share local or regional media announcements of their own.Whether or not it celebrating the completion of large projects they have invested countless hours and thousands of pounds into realising, or the community event they have worked into the night to deliver for their school communities.

It will be your role to take this much further, gaining increasing exposure for the work of Parentkind, its community, and parents more broadly.

The role will involve:

· Promoting our parent polling data and work across social media platforms with eye catching content. 

· Providing comment on topical issues for social media so that we are part of the conversation. 

· Build the right relationships to dramatically increase the number of of media organisations seeking input and thought leadership from Parentkind.

· Build relationships with broadcast media so we get asked to appear on broadcast media more often. There’s a chance for you to be a talking head too.

· Help to draft parent polls and reports with a focus on compelling questions that will hit the front page. We need a brilliant writer, able to turn facts and figures into engaging narratives with bold headlines and strong messages that catch the eye. Boring writers need not apply…

· Draft eye catching press releases with bold headlines and a compelling narrative to promote the work we do across the charity. You’ll also place the press releases with national journalists leading to high profile coverage.

· Support the authoring of articles, op-eds and blog posts by members of the Executive Leadership Team.

· Be responsible for media monitoring, measuring our media hits, and reporting on coverage and interesting themes for the Executive Leadership.

Your mission is to massively increase our online, in print and social media presence to make us the highest profile parent charity in the UK. We don’t need you to be an education expert, we need someone to get us on the front page.

We have a huge amount of data on what parents think and we need you to get it seen. This is a great job for someone who wants to grab hold of a “comms” function and make it their own.

About the role

We’re looking for a senior digital marketing manager – email to jointly lead our team as part of a job share to deliver high performing email campaigns and automations to support the charity’s activity. Working closely together with the other senior digital marketing manager – email, you’ll work across large email projects and campaigns, support the team’s workload and priorities, and create processes to best support their success.

Line managing a senior officer role, you’ll support their development and contribute to our email strategy together with the head of digital engagement.

Working with the senior manager, marketing and communications planning and measurement (owned earned shared paid channels) you’ll be a key part of shaping and ensuring consistency across all our channels.

About you

You’ll have substantial email experience and knowledge, being confident creating and optimizing complex automations alongside managing relationships with email platforms.

You’ll be passionate about delivering the best experience and engagement with email, and understand best practices and the importance of data and testing.

You’ll be well organised and have strong prioritisation and communication skills, working across the organization on a diverse range of campaigns and projects.

About the role

As our Global Internal Communications & Engagement Lead you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing a comprehensive global strategy for internal communications and employee engagement at WaterAid and work closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders to drive sustainable change.

In this role, you will:

• Set the strategic direction for WaterAid’s internal communications. Drive execution of this strategy to ensure staff are informed and inspired, engaged, empowered and connected to each other and the mission.
• Lead WaterAid’s federation-wide approach to employee engagement, ensuring the use of advanced technology and systems to drive, monitor and maintain WaterAid’s high levels of employee engagement.
• Oversee and lead WaterAid’s federation-wide approach to leadership communications, ensuring alignment with the Global Strategy and strategic priorities. Develop and define what leadership communication is required across the federation to foster an environment of transparency, collaboration and engagement.
• Trusted advisor and strategic internal communications business partner to key members of the Global Executive, specifically the WaterAid Chief Executives, Global Director of WaterAid international and the Executive Director, People (Global Lead for People).
• Serve as a strategic internal communications business partner on key global projects, collaborating closely with colleagues across the global federation.
• Lead on our federation-wide approach to deliver a seamless, integrated and highly positive digital employee experience.
• Ensure WaterAid leverages the most effective digital channels to create a positive employee experience, focusing on impactful communication and engagement across the global organisation.
• Act as a champion for WaterAid’s core values throughout the federation, promoting and embodying these principles to ensure that the global organisational culture authentically reflects them.
• Ensure diversity, equity and empowerment are seamlessly integrated into all internal communications and engagement activities. This includes actively promoting inclusive messaging that reflects the diverse voices and perspectives within the organisation.

We’re looking for a strategic and collaborative leader to join us as our first Head of Performance and Planning. In this newly created role, you’ll help us stay focused on what matters most – delivering impact for the brain tumour community.

You’ll lead our planning and performance functions, working closely with senior leaders and teams across the organisation to ensure we have clear priorities, strong reporting, and effective ways to measure progress. You’ll also oversee our governance and risk frameworks, making sure we remain well-governed and prepared for the future.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Developing and leading business planning processes and activities

• Leading our annual and multi-year business planning processes, ensuring strong alignment to our 2030 strategy and strategic pillars.
• Designing and managing planning tools, timelines, and guidance to support joined-up planning across The Charity’s departments.
• Aligning strategic planning with budget and resource planning in partnership with the Director of Finance and IT and the Director of People and Culture.
• Working closely with the Director of Finance and IT, and the wider leadership team, to drive alignment between strategy, delivery, and performance.
• Championing a collaborative and inclusive approach to planning, building understanding and engagement across the Charity.
• Representing planning and performance leadership at key forums, including SLT and Extended Leadership Team meetings, and at Board subcommittees where required.

Performance monitoring and reporting

• Designing, implementing and embedding our performance monitoring and reporting frameworks, including dashboards, KPIs and narrative reporting for SLT and Board.
• Identifying and escalating performance trends and/or risks, highlighting these in order to partner with teams on continuous improvement
• Driving the use of data and insight in organisational planning and decision-making processes, including embedding processes to support equity and inclusion e.g. EDI impact assessments.
• Building capacity and planning capability across The Charity to support sustainable processes and ways of working, and to support continuous improvement.
• Working closely with leaders to ensure planning, change and performance are aligned, and with particular emphasis on Finance, Strategy and External Affairs, and People and Culture.

Programme and project planning

• Developing and communicating frameworks to support how programmes and projects are monitored and measured, in alignment with our strategy impact framework led by the Strategy & External Affairs team.
• Support programme planning and monitoring capability across The Charity through coaching and advisory support to teams and leaders and through procuring and/or sharing supporting tools and guidance for this purpose

Leading governance, risk management and business continuity

• Strategic oversight of governance, including overseeing Board and subcommittee reporting, documentation, regulatory and legal compliance.
• Overseeing the Charity’s corporate risk register, embedding risk awareness and mitigation planning across The Charity.
• Leading the development of our Business Continuity Planning (BCP) approach, including associated guidance, communication and learning.
• Acting as a trusted partner to SLT and Heads of Teams on performance, risk, and governance.

This role will work at the intersection of national and London government agendas, ensuring that the diverse experiences of Londoners shape a more socially just London and the UK that protect and advances people's equality and human rights. 

Role Overview 

We are seeking a Head of Policy and Community Engagement to lead our policy advocacy and community engagement initiatives. This role is crucial in helping our members develop a collective voice, influence policy at both local and national levels, and drive long-lasting, systemic change. The successful candidate will work closely with London-based members and grassroots organisations, convening and facilitating opportunities to develop a unified and impactful voice and advocate for systemic change on key issues such as climate justice and resilience, employment inequality and economic inclusion, particularly in the context of public sector investment and the green economy. They will have a passion for human rights, equality and social justice, and strong policy advocacy and stakeholder engagement experience. 

Key Responsibilities 

Policy Advocacy & Engagement 

• Support Member Voice: Facilitate opportunities for our members (and their networks) to develop a unified and impactful voice on key policy issues.

• Drive structural change: Advocate for systemic, rather than piecemeal, policy reform on issues relating to climate action, law and economic opportunity.

• Policy research & analysis: synthesize research data, commission research, and stay informed on the priorities of national government, Greater London Authority and local borough councils, as well as those of funders, to provide members with strategic analysis and support in developing and influencing policy. 

• Focus on intersectionality: Promote the adoption of an intersectional, pan-equality, and human rights-based framework in policy areas such as the equality and human rights legal framework, climate justice and social investment. 

Community & Network Development 

• Develop and strengthen membership model: Lead efforts to develop and adapt our membership and engagement model, ensuring it remains responsive to the evolving needs of our London network and the wider movement.

• Equip grassroots groups: Work closely with grassroots organisations to build their capacity and influence on key issues, supporting them to engage directly with policymakers and participate meaningfully in policy debates.

• Promote collaboration and capacity building: Promote collaboration among members, encouraging the sharing of best practice, strengthening their collective voice, and enhancing their effectiveness in advocating for their communities. 

Strategic Initiatives & emerging trends 

• Horizon scanning and trend analysis: Monitor emerging trends in the climate, social justice, and community development sectors, ensuring strategies are adapted to address these developments.

• Network expansion: Identify opportunities to grow our network and extend our reach, ensuring more grassroots organisations are empowered to engage with policy agendas and drive systemic change. 

What skills and experiences we’re looking for: 

• Strong policy expertise: demonstrable experience of analysing evidence from a range of sources (lived experience, think tank and academic reports,) and working collaboratively with communities to identify the root causes of inequality and create policy solutions. Ideally in one or more of the areas of climate justice, economic opportunity, and social inclusion. 

• Community Engagement: Experience of working with grassroots organisations and local communities, with a focus on building capacity and amplifying their voices at local borough, London and UK government levels. 

• Advocacy Skills:

• Strong understanding and demonstrable experience of public policy change processes at the intersection of UK and London government agendas

• Proven ability to develop, lead, implement and monitor influencing strategies that drive systemic change 

• Strategic Thinking: Ability to think creatively and strategically about developing engagement models and responding to emerging trends in social and environmental justice movements. 

• Commitment: commitment to and a sound understanding of how to apply equality, intersectionality and human rights principles to public policy development, and the credibility to build trust with communities. 

• Network Building: Demonstrable experience in growing and supporting membership networks or coalitions, ideally in the voluntary or charity sector. 

• Emotional intelligence: High levels of emotional intelligence and resilience, including the understanding and ability to manage how lived experience of our privilege and inequality can impact in the workplace for yourself, colleagues and external stakeholders. 

• Managing staff: Experience managing at least one staff member, providing both task centered and pastoral support. The ability to hold and manage difficult feelings and conversations with tact and sensitivity.
