What the job involves

We’re on the lookout for a Direct Marketing Executive to join our Individual Giving Team here at Prostate Cancer UK. This role focuses on acquiring new cash and regular givers across a range of channels including direct dialogue, direct mail, digital and telephone, helping fund research that will save and improve lives.

In this role you’ll be part of an exciting time at the charity, joining us as we roll out our new Fundraising strategy and continue investment in Acquisition. You’ll drive on campaigns across a broad range of channels, with the aim of recruiting new, and re-engaging, lapsed regular and cash supporters. You’ll look for ways to test and innovate to drive the lowest attrition, best ROI and strongest lifetime value. How are staff supported to work remotely? 

VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.

This is an important and interesting role with Vision North Somerset.  You will get to be hands on with our service users who are visually and/or hearing impaired. What are the responsibilities of the Independent Child Trafficking Guardian:

Support for Children: Independent Child Trafficking Guardians support children who have experienced trafficking and exploitation, working alongside other professionals to ensure that children receive appropriate support in line with their needs. 

 Within this role some of your responsibilities will be: 

• Supporting professionals, including Social Workers, Police, Youth Justice Teams, Foster Carers and Residential Support Workers, to identify children exploited through modern slavery and refer them into the Service 
• Provide advice, guidance and information about child trafficking and initial safety planning to professionals through 1:1 case consultations or attendance at multi-agency meetings 
• Develop initial needs assessments and action plans 
• Support practitioners from partner agencies to meet the needs of children who have experienced trafficking and exploitation
• Manage a substantial caseload of young people supported through direct and indirect work, working within the requirements of service Key Performance Indicators and in line with Home Office Guidance.
• Support children through face-to-face contact and online platforms using creative approaches to ensure that children receive an excellent standard of specialist support within the boundaries of the role.
• Identify and respond to safeguarding, alerting managers to concerns and working with staff from partner agencies to deliver a robust safeguarding response.

SHAK (South Hampstead and Kilburn Community Partnership) is a resident led charity based on the Alexandra and Ainsworth estate in the Kilburn Ward of Camden, London, dedicated to supporting residents and young people living in an area of high deprivation.

If successful you will be based at “The ARC Youth Club”, an estate based youth led centre with integrated music studio, kitchen, games and "chill-out" space. The ARC engages approximately 250 young people per year and plays a vital role in their welfare and development outside of school. In holidays we offer a full program of activities and free meals for young people who may otherwise miss out.

You will deliver a range of activities e.g. cooking, arts & crafts, sports, trips, music, events etc. You will also offer support and guidance for local young people and enable them to develop life long skills while designing and running their own projects, forums etc. In school holidays you will be required to work an expected 28 hrs a week as we offer a full program of activities and free meals for young people

Duties Include:

Promoting and delivering activities for young people aged 9-19 yrs  (up to 25yrs for young people with SEND)

Engaging with a range of young people from diverse backgrounds and with multiple needs

Ensuring safeguarding standards are maintained and other policies and procedures are upheld

Facilitate and support intergenerational projects 

Working in partnership with other organisations to meet local needs

Acting as an effective part of youth team and wider SHAK team supporting community activities as needed

Admin and reporting duties as required

 

Skills & Experience

• Minimum Level 3 youth work qualification or equivalent and significant, relevant experience of youth service delivery.
• Experience of engaging girls in youth programmes successfully
• Knowledge of youth policies, safeguarding procedures and legislation
• Good communication, people skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to relate, support and engage with wide range of young people
• Proficient with computers, social media and other modern technologies

We are looking for someone to join our Fundraising Team to deliver our supporter care programme and be the first port of call for all enquiries and donations. Applicants will be warm and engaging and committed to developing relationships with the Charity’s supporters, most of whom have been directly affected by lymphoma. You will have a strong eye for detail as well as excellent writing ability to convey sensitively the impact of donations in thank you letters. This is the perfect role for someone who has:

• Experience of working in an administrative or customer service role
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle and prioritise multiple tasks
• Excellent IT and digital skills and the willingness to use different online platforms, software and databases

About the role:

As a Housing Officer, you will be responsible for providing a housing management service to the service users living in Vibrance owned and managed services. • Supporting prospective service users (and their carers where appropriate) with all aspects of the moving in/out process, to ensure that people are able to make an informed decision about whether or not to move in or move out
• Ensuring that individuals are maximising their benefits, including supporting them to make claims and liaising with the Dept of Work and Pensions and Housing Benefit staff as necessary
• Providing support to ensure that individuals are able to maintain their tenancies, including debt/arrears management, anti-social behaviour resolution, and the issues that can arise from shared living
• Working alongside our service managers and landlords to ensure that accommodation remains fit for purpose, well maintained, suitable for the individual residents and that all health & safety responsibilities are being met
